Becky lives in the UK and her writing is primarily fuelled by tea and rainy days. After spending far too many years only thinking about writing she finally started putting words down back in 2003 and hasn't stopped since, still trying to make up for lost time.

She's a long time science fiction fan and a lover of all types of stories, but especially those about people who find themselves in the trickiest of no-win situations. She likes nothing more than chasing her characters up trees and throwing rocks at them until they figure a way down.

Becky Black is currently not accepting new questions.

Hi, Michael - just spotted this question, sorry! I'm glad you enjoyed the books so much.

I don't currently have any more plans for stories in that universe. Been a while since I wrote them - though can't believe how quickly the time has gone! And I still enjoy rereading them myself even now. But I am thinking of moving towards pure sci-fi again, rather than the sci-fi romance that I've been working on the last few year. So watch this space and maybe see something similar in a while.

If you want a final little taste of that universe, I do have a short up on one of my other websites that you might like. Hmm, I should move a copy of that page to my main site actually.

I'm very chuffed with the one I've just finished writing, but "the newest one" is always the easy answer! I'm still proud of the very first novel I wrote, which was Shoot the Humans First. I'm proud of it's sequel, The Battle of Hollow Jimmy, because of the women characters in it. Of course I'm proud of the first one I sold, Liar's Waltz. Like I say, it's a tough question! But I think I'll plump for Patient Z. I still enjoy rereading it myself. I think the characters are interesting and had lots of fun figuring them out.

Thanks for the question!(less)

Re-release day Into the Sunrise

The last of my former Loose Id books is back out now! Into the Sunrise, the only F/F book I had there, has found a new home with JMS Books and is out today.

And now is a good time to get it from the JMS Books site, which is having a massive sale to celebrate Pride Month. Go go go!

“There are books so alive that you're always afraid that while you weren't reading, the book has gone and changed, has shifted like a river; while you went on living, it went on living too, and like a river moved on and moved away. No one has stepped twice into the same river. But did anyone ever step twice into the same book?”

Jane Austen
“It would be mortifying to the feelings of many ladies, could they be made to understand how little the heart of a man is affected by what is costly or new in their attire... Woman is fine for her own satisfaction alone. No man will admire her the more, no woman will like her the better for it. Neatness and fashion are enough for the former, and a something of shabbiness or impropriety will be most endearing to the latter.”
Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey
