Tominda Ann Adkins was born and raised in West Virginia. All her teeth are intact and she has never attempted second base with a farm animal. She does play banjo. Poorly.

Vessel, a fantasy about five amateur gods and the disenchanted mortal woman who's stuck with them, is her first major work of fiction. Tom currently lives, writes, works, and loves in Seattle, WA. She especially adores peer literary fiction, fantasy, short stories, the occasional memoir, trivial non-ficiton, and anything about publishing she can get her hands on. Her favorites come from Gaiman, Moore, Vonnegut, Kelly Link, Mary Roach, Sedaris, and Tom Robbins.

And yes, the rumors are true: this author has a Lady Gaga tattoo.

I love writing Vessel. Like I've said before, I can't even conceive of not finishing it, and I won't stop until the ser... Read more of this blog post »

Paperback: August 2nd!
e-book: August 9th!

For REAL this time! I get the print proof tomorrow, and (unless some correction needs made--doubtful, knock on wood) the above dates are a go!

Tominda Adkins "Can't wait for Book II!" = all the motivation I need. Seeing some great new reviews and feeling very grateful. Nothing makes me happier than knowing that Vessel is out there generating laughter (and the occasional nightmare!). Thank you all.

Tominda Adkins Ugh. Jane Eyre is probably the book I've re-read more times in my life than any other . . . but if I see the GoodReads trailer ad for the movie one more time, I'm going to pull a Bertha Mason and go mad.

Tominda Adkins First official Kindle purchase made: The Hunger Games. And now I see what all the fuss is about. It just feels like an instant classic, and it kind of reminds me of Ender's Game.

Tominda Adkins Just released Vessel to the wild! http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/8...
Hopefully, it won't wind up in a puddle...

Tominda Adkins Vessel! Finally! Mythology, mayhem, and men who still live their mothers, printed and ready for your reading pleasure. www.readvessel.com/publish.html
I am excited beyond belief.

Tominda Adkins In a reading rut. Taking me sooooo long to get through "Lamb". Too many distractions, I guess, because it's a great book! Maybe I'm in short story mode this month (loving "Flammable Skirt"). Any other short suggestions?

Tominda Adkins Just sent out my First Reads copies. To those of you receiving one, enjoy! Vessel's off to a great start and I can't wait to see your feedback.
