Locus Review by Gary K. Wolfe

A big thanks to Gary K. Wolfe for reviewing “All the Fabulous Beasts” for the December 2018 issue of Locus magazine.

…Sharma shows herself to be a master in the old art of placing entirely believable, pained, and conflicted characters into versions of the myths that help define their lives. It’s what those myths are for in the first place, isn’t it?

– Gary K. Wolfe

Review the full review.

I’m also very grateful to be mentioned in A Year of Looking Backward, his summary of 2018.

The Thousand Demon Tree by Jeffrey Alan Love

If you’ve read my blog, you’ll know I’m a fan of Jeffrey Alan Love. I’ve overused words like mythic to describe his work but it’s true of his new book, “The Thousand Demon Tree”.

Jeffrey taps the primal and eternal for this story of becoming and a terrible battle. A lone man comes, led by ravens, to take up a sword. All the Fabulous Beasts review at Storgy

Thanks to Matt Brandenburg and the team at Storgy for reviewing my collection.

All The Fabulous Beastsis a hauntingly beautiful exploration of the depths of love, loss, and relationships. Priya Sharma’s first collection of short stories offers up tales of cursed lovers, hags, mermaids, snake people, bird people, plant people, and killers. These stories show the true mastery Sharma has over fiction and delivers a gut punch of emotion that’ll stay with you long after you finish.
