Selene Castrovilla is an award-winning teen and children’s author who believes that through all trends, humanity remains at the core of literature.

Her young adult novel MELT was meant to be a stand-alone, but so many readers wrote to her begging to know what happens next that she realized MELT is actually the first of a trilogy. SIGNS OF LIFE, Book Two of the Rough Romance Trilogy, is now available! Selene is working on UNPUNISHED: BOOK THREE!

REVOLUTIONARY ROGUES, her fourth picture book about the Revolutionary War, will be releasing Fall 2017.

LUNA RISING, her debut women's fiction, is here!

Selene holds an MFA in creative writing from New School University and a BA in English from New York University. She lives on Long Island with her two

After all, summer is the perfect time to take a break from life and delve into a character's life--and I enjoy reading about how women cope with problems. So I randomly chose three books to read with the theme of "keeping" in common: The Secrets She Keeps, The Secrets You Keep and The Things We keep. They all look good! I relate to the struggle that comes with "keeping" in all different ways. Do you?

I might also seek out a Janet Evanovich book for comic relief. My character Sunny is a lot like Lula in humor, and maybe Luna is a bit like Stephanie Plum (in spunk and romantic confusion), Let me know if you agree. Happy summer reading!(less)

Hi Traceylee,
Years ago, when my first book was published, I met Lurlene at a book festival in Kentucky. We were signing books next to each other, and struck up a conversation. When I sold The Girl Next Door, my publisher asked me if I knew any authors who would read my book and "blurb" it. Blurbing a book means giving a recommendation for it, which can be used on the cover and/or to promote the book in general. Since Lurlene is the queen of these kinds of books, I thought of her and asked. She said yes!(less)

I’m listening to a Howard Stern Wrap Up Show from last week, and they’re debating whether Howard is depressed. I think “depression” is a label too frequently slapped on people—a blanket term which helps no one except doctors and pharmaceutical companies make money. Howard sees the world too clearly, and his problem is his inability, or unwillingness, to mask his pain with drug cocktails—or alco...

Joey, I love you. You're such an amazing guy and my heart was breaking for you the whole time I was reading this book. I was so glad that you and Doll got your happy ending in the end. I loved this book, the relationship between Dorothy and Joe..." Read more of this review »
