American Idol

Apparently American Idol is hotting up over the pond in the States. But why haven't we heard much  about it over here? A quick straw poll around the office revealed only one person knew it was back on and she'd just seen the advert for it. Why has the UK lost its appetite for Idol? One theory is that Simon, 'trousers too high' Cowell has stopped doing it so it's lost its British interest. To be honest one of the judges could be the Queen and I wouldn't have known, although thinking about it, it probably would have made the Ten O'Clock News if not 10 o'clock Live!

Kate Middleton and the Royal Wedding

I'm constantly asked whether I will be watching the Royal Wedding. Hmm, when was it again? Just kidding, Bank Holiday!!!!! I fully plan to spend the day avoiding the TV, although I will turn on the internet just to see the dress. C'mon even a cynic like me wants to see a wedding dress. Vogue apparently is doing a spread featuring wedding dresses and the rumour hot off the press is that maybe the dress will be done by Sarah Burton? Hah, what do I know, I still think flares are in fashion.

Japan

It's the anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, 25 years to be exact. What do we do to commemorate this event? Not learn from our mistakes that's what. I really feel for the people of Japan and with the news (reported on the BBC) that the nuclear crisis level has now been upgraded to that of the same as Chernobyl, well saying it cannot be good is an understatement.

National Debt

We thought we had it bad, well we do but the USA is threatening to default on its debt, thereby endangering its credit rating. Which doesn't sound so bad, but when you are a country, a lot rides on your finances, not just if you can afford that car or not.

Comments welcome!!! What do you think about all this?

News from Fantasy Island Publishing

Connie J. Jasperson's new book "The Last Good Knight" has been received well and grows in readership daily. Compared to the great Wilbur Smith in her action and bawdy prose, she will be one of the great writers of fictional adventures to come.

The Night Watchman Express

Alison DeLuca's new book "The Night Watchman Express" is soaring up the Amazon Kindle sales ranking and is a promising series to look forward to in the future. I loved this book!

Children of the Elementi special edition

THE KING OF EGYPT: Special edition.

Raised a warrior, Tigris, crowned Nitiqreti, is the first female pharaoh. With

a beauty that can bring men to their knees and a power that reaps respect from

an army, she is prepared to take on any enemy. Author J.J. Makins has written a

fascinating look at one of the most beautiful and unknown rulers of Egypt.

Whatever Became of the Squishies?

What would you do if you were the only purple girl in the world?  If  you're looking for a change from wizards and vampires, perhaps the recent release of Claire Chilton's debut teen comedy fiction Whatever Became of the

Squishies is what you've been searching for.

Why is someone killing the band geeks of Richland, Texas? Miranda Beeling would like to know, since she is one of them.

Author Marilyn Rucker Norrod certainly knows her subject. A musician and an attorney, she has taken that background and spun a wonderful book with great characters and lots of humor as well as intrigue.

The Little Red Hound

http://www.facebook.com/l/1609dBke4ISuT96D1WfKgNpCWnQ/www.barnesandnoble.com

Author Julianne Carlile has written a funny, touching story about hunting from the point of view of a friend of the little red hound.  I am in the middle of this book and I am just loving it!  It is chock full of humor!  I was up until 3am reading this last night!

Emeline and the Mutants

In the future, something interesting happened. People were no longer predisposed to cancer and diabetes. They were now more apt to becoming a zombie, vampire, werewolf or a troll.

Rachel Tsoumbakos is a new addition to Fantasy Island Book Publishing. She lives in Australia, and she writes wonderful horror in:

Apocalypse of the Barbarians

Dr. Sandy Krolick is back, and he has rocketed to the top of the Kindle  bestseller lists! This book is for the serious reader, and is absolutely compelling. Writing from his personal knowlege of Siberia, it is a book you won't easily forget.

Land of Nod Trilogy

Next on my list of books to read is 'Land of Nod'. J Darroll personally recommended this to me, as I am a long time Gamer.   If you love comic books or graphic fiction, or just great fantasy series, then check out Gary Hoover's wonderful Land of Nod Trilogy now available at Barnes and Noble for Nook

Clu Gallagherplaced in the Quarterfinalist of the ABNA 2010 competition. Currently, she is

working on her second novel. Look for THE ROAD TO RIGHTEOUSNESS coming soon.

Readers of literary fiction who enjoy stories with an emphasis on historical documentation, as well as quilters of all ages, especially those who weave life stories into the patches they sew, won't be disappointed. Clu Gallagher's inspiration came from a growing friendship with a German Immigrant to the U.S. who had once been a child of a Nazi. A baby boomer growing up in the United States herself, the thought occurred to her that, if they had met in childhood, they would have been enemies.

J. Darroll Hall and his Fantasy Island Book Publishing brand is topping Amazon sales rankings all over the Kindle book rankings. The brand's bookshelves and  catalog are on fire at the moment and I am proud to be one of his authors.

If you love comic books or graphic fiction, or just great fantasy series, then check out Gary Hoover's wonderful Land of Nod Trilogy now available at Barnes and Noble for Nook

working on her second novel.
