JS Graustein is Editor in Chief of Folded Word, co-author and photographer of WATER WAYS (with William O'Daly), the author of HOW TO WRITE AN EXCEPTIONAL THESIS OR DISSERTATION (2012, Atlantic Publishing), and the calligrapher for Folded Word's haiku collections: WASP SHADOWS (2014), WHAT WAS HERE (2015), and A YEAR UNFOLDING (2017). She holds a Master of Science degree in Biology from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb where she studied wetland dynamics under the tutelage of the Aquatic Ecologist Dr. Carl N. von Ende, PhD. She also holds a Literary Publishing Certificate from Emerson College, Boston.
