" I'm sorry the first chapter upset you, Stephanie. I hope you'll give the rest a try. It's not all that heavy. "
Hark! the Herald Angels Scream by Christopher Golden
"Some lovely Christmas horror short stories here! Perfect for the season! Some better than others, but most of a high standard. I wished some of them were longer, but a good creep factor and worth a read!"
Hark! the Herald Angels Scream by Christopher Golden
"I received an ARC of this book thanks to Net Galley and publisher Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group in exchange for an honest review.

Ooh boy, this was right up my street! I am one of those people who love to read seasonal books in December and so m..." Read more of this review »

"Hark! the Herald Angels Scream was an interesting collection of holiday themed stories. There were a handful of tales that I really enjoyed, but others weren't such a hit for me.

But that cover design... How awesome is the old school horror feel?!..." Read more of this review »

"I was drawn to the cover of this book the minute I saw the cover. I mean look at it, how awesome is it? I’ve always loved B Horror movies and this collection reminded me of those kind of cheesy horror and they did not disappoint. Containing 15 hor..." Read more of this review »

John Irving
“Your memory is a monster; you forget—it doesn't. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you—and summons them to your recall with will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!”
John Irving, A Prayer for Owen Meany

C.S. Lewis
“There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket – safe, dark, motionless, airless – it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell.”
C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

Philip Roth
“other people's weakness can destroy you just as much as their strength can. Weak people are not harmless. Their weakness can be their strength.”
Philip Roth, Indignation
