Far From Home by C. Derick Miller
"Far From Home is the continuation of book 1 in the series, Taste of Home. The story was more fluid than the first book with more action and brutality. Once the action really picks up, the book was riveting to me. I could not put it down from that poi" Read more of this review »

"No redeeming qualities with this main character. At times I was uncomfortable, and other times I'd cringe, but the writing was so colorful and entertaining that I stuck around to enjoy the entire deplorable story. "

"It's weird to be rooting for a protagonist you hate, but here I am. I enjoyed this book with a thoroughly loathesome person fighting against the fate he made for himself."

“Just like I said in the beginning, forgiveness is overrated. Death is final. Revenge, however, dances between the fine lines of mortality and eternity. Love always finds a way.”
C. Derick Miller, Starving Zoe

“I never thought we’d get this far. I guess what drives us is the fact that we weren’t satisfied with the answers that we’ve been given since birth. It’s not just black and white, like they’d have us believe. There’s always a gray area. We’re going to be the ones to dance all in that gray area.” - Chad Miller, Greenville Herald Banner Interview”
Chad Miller, A Taste of Home

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967

“A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstance.”
Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967

“Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously.”
Hunter S. Thompson

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”
J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

“That's the whole trouble. You can't even find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "Fuck you" right under your nose.”
J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

C. Miller Curious what I've been up to? Check out the American Justice Podcast and the Butterflies Make Me Angry Podcast! Also, cderickmiller.com has some updates as well. Then there's all the social media mumbo jumbo @howlgrowlsnarl. Working on new fiction now. Like aliens? Of course you do...

C. Miller Hello everyone! I've forgotten that this was even a thing! Maybe Goodreads needs to be tweaked a little? Just a thought. Kind of hard to navigate and edit things. Just sayin'. Come into the year 2021! It sucks, but at least our internet stuff works better, right? Anyway, thank you for reading Starving Zoe and Extinguished! Please leave reviews and ratings. Best Wishes, C.

C. Miller I really wanted to give you guys the first chapter to Extinguished...but Goodreads has a 50000 character limit in their blogs.

C. Miller I'm not even sure how this works. Is this something I'm supposed to write to you guys or are you guys supposed to write something to me? Just in case, pretend I'm not me. Problem solved.
