Nanette is a writing coach, editor, author, publisher, and CEO of Words of Passion, helping inspirational authors overcome writers block, master correct grammar, create strong structure, and write with clarity. She specializes in helping women write from the heart so they can put their passion into words and inspire others. If You Need Fancy Dialogue Tags, There’s Something Wrong with Your Writing

Picture Dialogue tags are the words (typically) at the end of the sentence that let the reader know who is speaking and how that person is speaking. For example, “Don’t tell me what to do,” Gary said and stormed out of the room. The words Gary said and stormed out of the room are the dialogue tag. They identify the speaker and his angry mood.

Nanette Littlestone added a status update: I recently finished The Improbability of Love. Did anyone else find it a bit improbable? I was impressed with the author's imagination but felt all the extraneous head hopping unwarranted and unnecessary. Towards the end I just wanted to know what happened and then I was disappointed in the unfolding of the auction and what happened to Jesse and Annie.

And now I'm on to First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen - Fun!
