T.D.Hill (Wichita, Kiowa, Pawnee) is a Native American writer, artist, and motivational speaker. Much of his writing draws upon his experiences as an Indigenous American with ancestry from several tribes. He grew up in Southwestern Oklahoma.

Whenever I've lost momentum I've found it to be very helpful to surround myself with those things that inspired me to write on a particular subject in the first place. I don't live in "Indian Country" anymore but I've brought several things from Oklahoma with me. I have my cedar flute, my cedar chest, my hand-beaded medallions that my grandmother made, and my monarda/sage bundles. I will pull one of these items out and place it right next to my lap top. I always feel that sense of connection whenever I do this and the words just seem to jump out on the screen of their own accord.(less)

There are so many tools and techniques out there for aspiring writers to use. It behooves you to learn about as many of them as you can. You should also join author/writer organizations as these groups have access to a treasure trove of information that can only make you into a stronger writer.(less)
