Hi Sharon,

Thank you for connecting and thank you for posting reviews for Home. I'm grateful!

If I've suffered from anxiety, it is only in small doses. But perhaps, I've struggled enough to have an inkling of how debilitating an anxiety disorder can be and how it can impact one's life. In both my last novel, Flames, and now Home, I explored anxiety issues--panic attacks in Flames and OCD in Home. I have fought against symptoms of PTSD since childhood and there are links between PTSD and anxiety, certainly.

My prayer with each book I write is to offer hope to those who struggle.

Walk away from the manuscript and do something completely unrelated to writing. Sometimes I go shopping. Other times I'll go for a walk. Just a few hours away usually helps clear my mind. If I'm still stuck, I'll read a writer whose work has inspired my own creativity in the past.(less)

Seeing the God Who Sees

“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.”
Genesis 16:13

In the circular way God often leads, I recently found myself back in the wilderness, tracing the path of Hagar. I’ve walked with God since childhood and have heard and read of Hagar’s plight dozens, if not hundreds, of times. Yet, I sensed God asking m

“Sometimes keeping a secret seems like the right thing to do because telling the truth might hurt someone and makes it seem like you don't love them. But really, telling the truth is the right thing to do. It's the most loving thing to do.
-Kaylee”
Ginny L. Yttrup, Words

“Love is just a word until you put actions to it”
Ginny L. Yttrup

“Look beyond a person's actions and see their heart. Look for what's causing them to act the way they act, then you'll understand them better.”
