Top Tips for Beating the Heat at Disney

By Daisy Lauren

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

Despite what Punxsutawney Phil may have said, winter is long gone here in Central Florida. Highs are reaching the low 80′s nearly every day and that’s just the beginning. We can expect temperatures to get nearly twenty degrees hotter in the sweltering summer months. I get asked all the time how I endure such brutal weather. With that in mind I thought I’d share some of my top tips for beating the heat.

Sun protection might be the most important thing you put on all day. It’s important to apply sunscreen anywhere your skin might be exposed as your clothing moves, especially around the neck. Remember, for sunscreen to work properly it should be applied approximately 30 minutes before you leave your room. You should also plan to reapply several times throughout the day. I know that can be difficult with squirmy kids (or husbands!) but it’s absolutely essential in the Florida sun.

Light weight and light color clothing will also be your best bet to repel sun. Darker colors absorb the heat and get noticeably hotter to the touch in harsh sunlight.  Cotton, linen, and light wool fabrics do a great job of breathing in the heat. The cut of shirts also makes a big difference. A more flowing top that has extra breathing room, especially under the arms, will help you stay cooler. I’m a big believer in using clothes for additional sun protection.  Even in the hottest months I’ll often wear light capris and 3/4 sleeve tops. In the right fabric I’m still comfortable and I don’t have to worry about putting on extra sunscreen.

Beware the jean shorts. I thought this one was important enough to list all by itself! I see young women come to the parks all the time in very short jean shorts. These are terrible for touring the parks because they don’t breath at all and take forever to dry if you happen to get them wet. By the end of the day you can spot even the tiniest girls hobbling through the parks because their shorts have chafed their legs so badly. I’m sure there are plenty of women who wear these with no problems but I see the painful outcome enough that I thought it was worth a warning. Wear at your own risk!

Wearing a hat will not only keep the sun out of your eyes but protect your face from sunburn. I’m more of a baseball cap kind of girl, myself, but I see some very fashionable sun hats in the parks. If you don’t want to mess up your hair I’m seeing more and more people in the parks carry an umbrella to provide their own personal shade. While this does look a little peculiar, you can’t argue with the results. Plus once it gets hot you can bet on it raining just about every day and you’ll be ready!

Staying hydrated seems obvious but it can be tough to do when food and drink aren’t allowed on many attractions. Most people know that you’re able to get free ice water from any counter service restaurant in the parks. That’s a great option but on busier days can be pretty time consuming. If I know I’m going to be in a park most of the day I use a CamelBack to keep water with me at all times. If you don’t want to purchase a specialty backpack you can freeze water bottles to bring with you. These double as ice packs to keep you cool while you wait for them to melt. Just be sure to keep them in a ziploc bag as the bottles sweat and can become a wet mess in your bag.

Citrus Swirl

The Cure for What Ails You

Planning your day around the heat will also make a huge difference. Make sure that you save rides with indoor queues and indoor shows for the hotter times of the day. If your schedule allows, skip the heat of the day all together. This is a great time to head back to the hotel for a nap or a dip in the pool (or both). The summer nights are incredibly pleasant and late night hours are consistently offered at Walt Disney World. Why fight the heat if you don’t have to?

So what do you do if you get overheated at the parks? Well, personally I find a nice, frosty citrus swirl will fix that for you! But seriously, there are first aid stations located in each park. If you find you find yourself dizzy or light headed it’s best to get help. Any cast member in the parks will be able to direct you or assist if you need more urgent attention. Don’t be embarrassed to ask for help!

So what are your best tips for beating the heat? Do you have a story about dealing with the heat in the parks? I’d love to hear about the experiences you’ve had in the comments below! As always thanks for reading. :)

Universal Orlando Construction Update: CityWalk Starbucks and Cold Stone Unveiled

By Seth Kubersky

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

It’s amazing what a difference a few hours makes at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk complex these days. Just a few short weeks ago we were reporting on the opening of Antojitos Authentic Mexican restaurant, which has already seen some menu tweaks along with long waits for tables on weekend nights. Now, we’re happy to bring you the first photos of the facades for the new CityWalk Starbucks Coffee and Cold Stone ice cream shop, which were hidden behind construction walls until the first of March.

This is what the area under the CityWalk escalators, which originally held the Endangered Species store, looked like on the last day of February as guests exited Universal Orlando’s parks:

CityWalk Starbucks

Now, here is the front of the new CityWalk Starbucks and Cold Stone, as revealed hours later on Saturday:

The new eateries could open any day now, and we’ll bring you menus and photos from inside as soon as they do.

As a bonus, here’s a look at some unpublicized expansion surgery being performed upon the “Porch of Indecision” at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville:

Disneyland and Walt Disney World Offering Braille Menus for Guests

By Rikki Niblett

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

A quick note I wanted you all to be aware of. Guests who have visual disabilities will now be able to request Braille menus at select food and beverage locations at both Walt Disney World, as well as at Disneyland Resort.

This will be offered in conjunction with the ability to be able to request menu reading assistance from a Cast Member, which is available to guests at any dining establishment.

If guests need any additional assistance, they may also choose to visit Guest Relations in any park to learn more about other services that are offered to help them on their visit to the Resort.

In the Parks with Morgan: Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine at Hollywood & Vine

By Morgan Crutchfield

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

DSC_0033Back in January, with not too much fanfare, Hollywood & Vine, the character dining staple at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, added Princess Sofia and Doc McStuffins to its character dining lineup. A lot of you had questions about the new characters and the experience, in general, so I hope this answers them.

With their shows on Disney Junior riding a huge wave of popularity, it’s unlikely that Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First will be going anywhere any time soon. And while Sofia has a meet and greet a short walk away in the Animation Courtyard, Hollywood & Vine is the only place you’ll be able to say hello to Doc.

Hollywood & Vine is an buffet-style restaurant that serves American fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Below are some of the breakfast selections.

DSC_0010 DSC_0009 DSC_0011

Characters for breakfast and lunch (dinner is not character dining) are Princess Sofia, Doc McStuffins, Handy Manny, and Jake the Pirate. The buffet is extensive and, as compared to similarly-sized buffets on property, is reasonably priced, especially for breakfast. Guests are seated at tables around the dining room and attended to by a server who brings drinks and any extras. All every meal there are kid-friendly buffet items like french toast, mickey waffles, pizza, and chicken nuggets. During breakfast and lunch hours, characters work the room in circuits, making sure each table is greeted and has a minute or so to take pictures and get autographs, and there’s a fun dance party each time a new circuit starts. Don’t worry if the characters have to leave your table for a song – their attendants know just where they left off, and they’ll be back to meet and greet at your table when the performance is over. If you do happen to miss a character while you’re fetching puffed french toast, let the character attendants know rather than trying to track that character down. Characters meet and greet in pairs and switch when each side of the dining room is covered, so be patient and enjoy your meal; eventually they’ll all make it around to your table.

DSC_0024

Hollywood & Vine is one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan, and unless you happen to be visiting during a pretty slow time of year, dining here will require a reservation. A tip: having a quick snack for breakfast and booking a later breakfast reservation at the restaurant should allow you to easily skip lunch.

For the best character interactions, have your cameras on and ready to shoot and your autograph books or surfaces open and ready. Thick Sharpie markers are much easier for the characters to see and write with, and having your own is always appreciated.

Hollywood & Vine serves breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m., lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., and dinner from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or sometimes later during longer park hours. You can make reservations by calling (407) WDW-DINE, through the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device, or at the Disney World Dining website.

By Guy Selga Jr.

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

Disney has quietly added a new a segment to Muppet Vision 3D’s pre-show at Disney California Adventure and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new segment stars Constantine from the upcoming film Muppets Most Wanted.

A big thanks to Izabelle for grabbing this video for us.

Edit: I have been informed that the new segment has not yet been inserted into the Disney’s Hollywood Studios version of Muppet Vision 3D.

SATURDAY SIX: Our Six Favorite Snacks at Universal’s Mardi Gras

By Derek Burgan

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

This week’s SATURDAY SIX covers Our Six Favorite Snacks at Universal’s Mardi Gras. Last week we wrote about the reasons we think Universal’s Mardi Gras Grand Celebration is one of our favorite events on the theme park calender. Great live music, a terrific parade and a fun party atmosphere combine to make a unique experience at the park but we here at the Saturday Six look forward to one thing more than anything else….the food!  This week we’re going to look at six of our favorite snacks that come out during the party.

Please remember to click on any picture to see the full size version. Also, for a comprehensive run-down of the event and a list of all the upcoming dates, check out Seth Kubersky’s Complete Guide to Mardi Gras 2014. But enough of that jibber jabber, on with the food!

# 6 – Beignets

Beignets

Beignets

If you are going to do a New Orleans-style party right, you better have beignets. Topped with enough powdered sugar to put you straight into a diabetic coma, this Mardi Gras offering brings a little bit of deep fried Louisiana love to Orlando. If anyone tells you there is something better than snacking on beignets while watching the Mardi Gras parade, they’ve clearly been bewitched by Dr. Facilier. ($4.25)

# 5 – VooDoo Juice

VooDooJuice

VooDoo Juice

The official drink of Universal’s Mardi Gras, VooDoo Juice is a combination of Full Throttle energy drink, Minute Maid orange, pineapple and cranberry juice, and is topped off with rum. It is served in a souvenir glass that lights up from the bottom. There is no shortage of mixed drinks at this event and once you buy your first souvenir glass at $10, each refill is only $7. Our recommendation? Grab a VooDoo Juice and go hang out by Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl just to listen to all the jokes told before, during, and after the ride.

# 4 – Red Beans and Rice

MardiGras_RedBeansAndRice

Red Beans and Rice

In the Big Easy, Monday is red beans and rice day but at Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration every day is red beans and rice day. A filling snack that can have a little kick when you add Tabasco sauce to it. For some reason the price of this dish went up $3 from last year and is now at $8 a serving. Even in the theme park world that’s a pretty big price hike.

# 3 – Jambalaya

Jambalaya

Jambalaya

Speaking of filling, the Jambalaya was packed with meat. A traditional Creole dish, jambalaya combines meat, vegetables and rice into a very flavorful experience and makes us wish there was an annual Louisiana booth at Epcot’s Food & Wine festival as well. ($9.00)

# 2 – Shrimp Gumbo

IMG_2385

Shrimp Gumbo

Shrimp Gumbo went up a dollar in price this year but it continues to be the best value at Mardi Gras. This is a good sized portion of food and one thing we like about the menu offerings is that many of the dishes come served with bread. Yes, it’s a  small thing but it adds some value to the meal and we like to dip the bread into some of these dishes to soak up the delicious spices. ($6.00)

# 1 – King Cake

KingCake

King Cake

The signature dessert of Mardi Gras, a slice of King Cake is huge and would fit right into our articles on the most outrageous snacks at Universal. A tradition of Mardi Gras, the King Cake slices are cut out of a huge cake and will be adorned with the official party colors of green, purple, and gold. If you’re not getting a King Cake at Mardi Gras, you’re not doing it right. ($3.25)

Before we go with have to hand out some honorable mentions including funnel cake sticks, the po’boy sandwich and twisted taters. Twisted Taters are one of our favorite snacks of Halloween Horror Nights as well and we are currently looking to see who we have to bribe at Universal to wheel that tater fryer over to Duff Gardens and make this snack available year round. A twisted tater and a Duff beer? Woo-hoo!

So there you have it: Our Six Favorite Snacks at Universal’s Mardi Gras. See you next weekend for the latest edition of the Saturday Six where we will look at Disney’s Art of Animation resort. If you had fun, be sure to check out The Magic, The Memories, and Merch! articles or, for your listening pleasure, check out Pardon the Pixie Dust podcast.

In Case You Missed It: Disney News and Rumors – Week of February 28, 2014

By TouringPlans.com

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

In Case You Missed It!

Lots of fun was had this week! What did I find to brighten your Friday? Read on to find out!

In Case You Missed It – Disney News and Rumors

The Oscars are this Sunday, so Disney Insider shared 10 Facts about Disney and the Oscars. I actually learned quite a few things. Like that Disney won its first “Best Original Song” Academy Award in 1940 for “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Pinocchio. (P.S.: Good luck to “Let It Go,” which is up for the same award this year!)

Ok…this cool. If you’re a big Disney movie buff, Disney just released a brand new movie streaming system that you’re gonna want to take advantage of. Read more about this new service called Disney Movies Anywhere! (Oh, and just for signing up, you’ll get a free copy of Pixar’s The Incredibles for a limited time.)

Have you ever wondered where Disney movies were geographically located? This breakdown guide takes a look at where all Disney stories likely took place. It’s quite fascinating.

It seems like just about everyone has released some sort of version of “Let It Go” out there. This version is pretty darn awesome…but not why you think. It’s a parody version by traffic reporter Bob Herzog called “Just Don’t Go,” and it is so very creative.

Hmm…so recently Disney acquired rights to be able to make future Indiana Jones movies…could it be in an effort to lock down Harrison Ford for Star Wars? Rumors indicate that Harrison Ford wants to do two more Indy films in exchange for being in Star Wars Episode VII.

Do you believe in Disney magic? Recently, a 14-year-old girl at Disney World lost a teddy bear that was given to her by her father before he passed away. Thanks to wonderful Cast Members, he was miraculously recovered. Read to learn more about the story.

We all know that Disney’s ticket prices just increased for Walt Disney World, but have you ever wondered about the breakdown, year by year? Check out this interesting chart that shows the progress. (Looks like 2006 was the largest single year jump, with prices increasing twice that year – a total jump of $7.25. 2013 was right behind it with a $6.00 jump for Magic Kingdom.)

The Disney Cruise Line is an incredible fleet. Those of us who have cruised aboard their ships know that. And this week, it was announced that in the 2014 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice Awards, DCL earned 13 first-place awards. Check out all the categories they won for on DisneyCruiseLineBlog.com

This week, the world lost a legend. (Or is he a god…?) Harold Ramis, famous for being involved with so many movies, such as Groundhog Day, Animal House, and of course Ghostbusters, passed away. In memory of him, take a peek at this look back at The Ghostbusters Spooktacular that premiered at Universal Studios Orlando when the park first opened. (I ain’t afraid of no ghosts!)

In Case We Missed It

What did we miss? Send your idea attached to a copy of Ghostbusters and send both to blog@touringplans.com with the words “In Case You Missed It” in the subject line.

Major Changes Coming to The Central Hub Area at the Magic Kingdom

By Rikki Niblett

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

Cinderella CastleHave you ever been at Magic Kingdom after the fireworks and the evening parade, and you are just trapped?  You can’t move anywhere? Well, I have.

It was on the Magic Kingdom’s 40th Birthday celebration, and my friends and I all staked out spots in the area near Crystal Palace to see the spectacular fireworks show that was planned to celebrate the occasion. The show was beautiful, but then the cluster of people wanting to leave started to rear its ugly head.

We didn’t see the need to rush out since the park was still open, and we thought about heading back to Adventureland, but we, too, were stuck in our spots. We couldn’t make our way anywhere. This is where we coined the phrase, “Disney Anarchy.” There were people literally climbing over the fences with STROLLERS to climb in the grass to get around some of the chaos (I absolutely do NOT recommend that, by the way). It took a good hour to hour and a half to clear the area so that we could finally move. We felt like fish swimming upstream.

So, why do I tell you this story? Because Disney has revealed that it will is changing the configuration of the hub area of Main Street, U.S.A., (nearest Cinderella Castle) to alleviate congestion that happens nightly at the park. This redesign will include new pathways, special fireworks and parade viewing areas (hello FastPass+), and beautiful gardens.

Disney released a video showing an overview of what the work will look like when all is said and done.

As you can see in the screenshot, there will be an additional circular walkway added to the main courtyard area, allowing people to have more room to walk and also more space to stand during the fireworks. I also like the new castle turrets that are shown in the photo.

©Disney

©Disney

This is the current Google Earth view of what the Hub area looks like, for comparison. As you can see, the area funneling into Main Street USA will be vastly widened.

Work on this new expansion is already taking place. Disney is already working on expanding the seating areas for both Casey’s Corner and for The Plaza Restaurant.

While it may be a bit of an inconvenience for guests during construction, it will be absolutely welcome when completed (sometime in 2015).

“Rock Your Disney Side” Coming To Disney Parks

By Rikki Niblett

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

In a tradition that started back in 2012 to kick-off the “One More Disney Day” promotion, Disney Parks have been throwing 24-hour, all-night parties for their guests. This year, the tradition continues in an event called “Rock Your Disney Side.”

The special 24-hour party will take place kicking-off Memorial Day Weekend (starting at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, May 23, and lasting to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24). The event will be held on both coasts – at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort.

This year’s theme invites guests to show off their Disney Side by dressing as either their favorite Disney hero or villain. (Costumes must follow the same rules that apply during events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.) During the party, there will be plenty of character meet and greets, special entertainment, food offerings, merchandise, and more.

To find out more about the event, make sure to follow along at the blog here, or check out Disney’s new website, rockyourdisneyside.com

A Trip Around The World: United Kingdom

By Daisy Lauren

FacebookTwitterGoogle PlusPinterest

Greetings from the United Kingdom! Can you believe we’ve already toured Mexico, Norway, ChinaGermanyItaly, America, Japan, Morocco, and France? We’ve almost seen the entire World Showcase, with only two stops left on our world tour. If you recall when we left off in France we were crossing a long bridge. At the end of this bridge you have two choices. You can head towards your right into the United Kingdom, which will look like the below photo.

1

If you turn left, you’ll head towards the International Gateway, which exits the park towards the Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan, Dolphin, and BoardWalk resorts. This makes it an easy walk to Beaches & Cream, which is one of the most fun restaurants on all of Disney property. (Seriously – if you don’t know what I’m talking about, click that link. You don’t want to miss this place! Okay – now back to our regularly scheduled world tour.)

2

If you resisted the siren’s call of Beaches & Cream and headed towards the United Kingdom, the first thing you’d come across is a beautiful garden on your left. You can often find Alice in Wonderland greeting in this area. The arch below and the lush garden inside always make me think of The Secret Garden, though there’s nothing stating that the two are related.

2a

Just past this arch is an official Nikon Photo spot! I hadn’t noticed these were cropping up in the parks. I’m glad that the old photo spots won’t be going away and that they’ll get new branding. (Hopefully it will mean new photos on the signs, too, as this one was really faded!) You can see another view into the garden from here. There are lovely, winding paths tucked behind the building. It’s a tranquil spot to explore, especially before the shops open.

2b

Here’s what you’ll see once you’ve wondered back into the garden. Every season of the year it’s lush and beautiful. The view below is just behind the Tea Shop that I’ll show you in a bit. I can’t imagine how much work goes into maintaining these plants.

2c

I would say this area is quiet, but The British Revolution takes the stage several times a day, filling the area with lively music. You can often see couples dancing in front of this stage to the music while children run through the hedge maze. This was also the location of a pretty awesome New Year’s Eve party, which you can check out here.

2d

Heading back out to the main walkway by World Showcase Lagoon, the next thing you’ll come to is this amazing view of several different architecture styles of the United Kingdom. Down this road are the five shops found in the pavilion and another entrance to the bandstand.

3

Let’s start walking on the left side of the road. The first shop you’ll see is the Twinings Tea Shop. The building, itself, is a thatched roof cottage inspired by one owned by William Shakespeare’s wife.

4

Here’s a look inside the shop. Not surprisingly, you can find just about any flavor of tea. It also carries tons of tea accessories, including some pretty and high end teacups.

5

Attached to the tea shop and carrying similar merchandise is The Queen’s Table. To be honest, from inside I couldn’t really tell where one shop ended and another began. Again, there is tea for sale but also some cookies and other British fare.

5a

One highlight is the awesome British chocolate available for purchase! Judging from the sign, I would also bet that you can use dining credit for these bad boys. I know when I was on the dining plan I had gobs of credits left over at the end – there was just more food than we could eat! I wish I would have known I could have cashed those in for candy. ;)

6

Just next door is Lords and Ladies, which – as the sign claims – carries fancy goods. Notice the differences between the signs. The United Kingdom is a land with clearly marked shops and very different signage. I would also like to mention that the items in these shops seem to get shuffled around quite a bit. Your mileage may vary on where you find items or if they even still carry them!

7

Here’s a look at several proud British flags on display in the shop. On the left you can see just a little into the next tiny area that carries sterling jewelry. I didn’t include close ups because I wasn’t very impressed with the selection. It was largely generic and overpriced.

8

Here is the last little section of this side of the street before heading back towards the bandstand. This looks lovely, but I was surprised to see clothes and accessories on display. Does anyone else remember when this was a perfume shop? I picked up the nicest lavender perfume here. This isn’t a section of the park I frequent, so I have no idea when it changed. Anyone out there know when they made the switch?

9

Now let’s head back out to the World Showcase Lagoon and start down the other side of the street looking at shops. The first one you will see is the Sportsman’s Shoppe. This is a great shot to point out how they just shove different styles together in this land and it somehow works. This building looks nothing like the two attached to it, but somehow they all look like they belong together.

10

Just inside the doors on the right you’ll see what the shop is named after, tons of sports gear and jerseys. Also tucked away under the archway is a part of Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure. (Has everyone played this before? Anyone interested in seeing a blog on it?)

11

The other side of this shop is literally stacked to the ceiling with Dr. Who merchandise. Ironically, this was the one section in all of the shops that I just couldn’t catch without getting people into the frame! I stood there for quite awhile, and people just kept coming. Obviously there were more sci-fi fans than soccer fans! (Or should I say football?)

12

Next up is the Crown & Crest store. There are several signs up around this store, but the below on is my favorite. Take a look at the detail on the building in the bottom right of the photo!

14

Take a look at this! While the shop mostly just carries Guinness swag, the building, itself, is impressive! The detail and woodwork are just beautiful! This would a great spot to stop for family photos. I bet most people wouldn’t believe something like this exists at Disney World.

15

Next door be sure to look up and take in all the decor added on the ceiling.

16

A little closer to the ground you can find crests on all sorts of merchandise. There is also s station to get your own family crest put on a plaque. Very cool and unique souvenirs in here.

17

Lastly, The Toy Soldier is tucked at the back of the street.

18

Since this is the shop set the furthest back, it carries all the merchandise to go along with the The British Revolution.

19

Other than that, this store is mostly generic toys you’d find anywhere else in the parks. In this case, there is Winnie the Pooh merchandise because he has a meet and greet nearby. I love getting photos of the plush toys first thing in the morning when they are still neatly arranged. At the end of the day, the shelves have been ravaged. It makes me think of all the work Cast Members do each and every night to put the shelves back in order.

20

Since that was our last shop, we’ll head out to the World Showcase Lagoon again. On the water side is the very popular Rose & Crown Pub. Out front you can see the World Showcase Players putting on a show. Gosh, these guys are funny! If you haven’t stopped by to watch this act, then you’re due for a show. It’s always a good time.

21

Here is one of the many signs marking the restaurant. The Latin on the sign translates to “Leisure with Dignity.” That seems like a fitting description of this restaurant, which has excellent food, even better drinks, and a laid back atmosphere.

22

Here is a look inside the dining room. While the decor is fun, the chairs here are some of the least comfortable in the World Showcase. Does anyone else remember the trifle they used to have here? I’m wondering if it was as epic as I remember, or if I was just a kid. Boy, it seems like it was as big as my head (but somehow we always managed to eat it…).

23

Here’s a look at the bar up front. I also snuck the barmaid into frame. Isn’t that a great outfit? I would love to wear that to work! Also worth noting is that there’s an outdoor bar out front that isn’t pictured here. When the restaurant gets busy in the evenings, it can be a lot faster to grab a drink out front and maybe mosey over to Canada for some Off Kilter.

Next to the Rose & Crown you’ll find Yorkshire County Fish Shop. The menu is limited to just fish, chips, and ale. This isn’t a bad thing, though. The little but they do, they do well! This is an easy place to stop for a quick bite.

Just beside the restaurant is one of the best views of IllumiNations in the entire park! If you can catch this spot on a night when it isn’t rented out, then take advantage and enjoy.

Finally, this regal looking building is modeled after the Hampton Court Palace. I wish I had something more impressive to report, but you’re looking at the entrance to a bathroom. It still looks pretty good to me! During the Flower & Garden Festival last year, the garden in front featured Captain Hook and Tick-Tock the Crocodile, while Peter Pan was perched high atop the building. I hope they appear again this year!

Lastly, one of the most photographed features of the entire World Showcase. You didn’t think I’d forget the phone booths, did you? Even at 10am I had to wait to get a shot of this spot without people in it!

And with that we’ve completed our tour of the United Kingdom. There’s only one stop left! I hope you’ll join me next time for our grand finale. a tour of Canada. As always, thanks for reading and commenting!
