I am proud and excited to be a #1 bestseller at Powell's. I visited the store for the first time last fall and bought a dozen books and basically just wandered around in awe. Powell's! Me! Together! I think my face just melted off.(less)

Top 12 Short Books (Under 60 Pages) For Busy People

It's our 60th Poll so we decided to look at some of the best books under 60 pages as I know a few of our members are fond of a short story

Here are the novels, short stories and non-fiction books that will perfectly fit into your busy life.
What if we give Frank Zappa’s quote “so many books, so little time” a more positive meaning? There are many fantastic books short enough that it will take little time to finish them.

Some readers think that a short story or a novella is not a book. Well, it is, as long as it’s released as a separate publication.

Don’t judge a book by its length. Shorter doesn’t mean worse. Longer doesn’t mean better.

And every book you read (because you have time for it) is better than a book you don’t (because it’s so long you assume you’ll never be able to finish it).

Below are The Top 12 Short Books (Under 60 Pages) For Busy People according to EBOOK FRIENDLY, have you read any on the list? What would you like to read? Vote and Comment below

“We stand there, quiet. My questions all seem wrong: How did you get so old? Was it all at once, in a day, or did you peter out bit by bit? When did you stop having parties? Did everyone else get old too, or was it just you? Are other people still here, hiding in the palm trees or holding their breath underwater? When did you last swim your laps? Do your bones hurt? Did you know this was coming and hide that you knew, or did it ambush you from behind?”

Edan I've been to Walden Pond in the past, Donald, but that time around I just stopped to pose with these dogs, who were hanging out on the sidewalk, leashless and lovely. Their owner told me they were brothers.

Omar doesn't know a thing about this photo, Robert, so keep your mouth shut! When he's jealous his ears droop, and it's pathetic, and none of us can handle it.

message 4: by Paria (last edited Aug 25, 2016 01:24PM)

Paria So last night, when you said "I've never read Ulysses," I thought you were talking about The Odyssey (what can I say? I was drunk). And I said, "I read it in high school." Only after that appeared to impress you did I realize that you were talking about the James Joyce book. By that point, of course, I was too embarrassed to explain my mistake. So I said, "Yeah...um, excerpts of it...." Ha ha. I'm a bad liar. So, ANYWAY, I do want to read Ulysses. And I do think you should start that book club.
Love, Paria

Ken Baumann I'm very glad we agree on A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and that Chabon thing.

When I read those books, I feel like I need to buy a used bike and move to Brooklyn and wear old sweaters and listen to The Klaxons.
