It's good to have your own webspace (blogger, wordpress, or your own website) for reviews other than goodreads. If you want mainly print books, enter the Goodreads giveaways, or giveaways on Library reads. Many Christian Publishers have reviewer programs for free print books, and my recent favorite is Blogging For Books, which allows you one print book at a time. If you don't mind e-books, my favorite by far is NetGalley. Just don't get too crazy with requesting books, because you'll never catch up.

A lot more experienced bloggers have good tips. My favorite blogger is parajunkee (parajunkee.com), even though she likes romance novels, she has great tips for bloggers and a shop for html code for your website.(less)

This is such a beautiful journal. The cover is brilliant, the motivating inserts are adorable. This would make the perfect Christmas present for the journal nerd in your life! Even if you're like me and have a..erm...SLIGHT notebook and journal addiction, this will make a wonderful addition to your collection

While this was certainly an interesting concept, it would be nice to read an unabridged version. Perhaps a prequel to get more context on, well, everything.

Flashbacks can be useful if used correctly but if you find yourself needing one in every chapt

I mean really, all the girl wanted was to be a nun. She wanted to eat, sleep, pray and instead fate throws her smack dab in the middle of court drama.

People complain that Jane was quiet, or boring, or mousy but honestly would I be any different? Ther

As much as I love historical fiction, if it is too immersed in language from five centuries ago it can get dry. Luckily, this book didn't have that problem. We have here a book of intrigue and murder around a queen who really just wants to stay alive ...more

Honestly I read and watch so much historical fiction that I just get so lost sometimes. I feel like I need a family tree map with book covers iver the monarchs to keep track.

That being said, this takes place sometime between Reign and the Crown.

I grew up with Southwest Asian food. Southeast Asia food oddly enough didn't even spark my interest until recently. This is a lovely cookbook for beginners, and I wasn't at all disappointed with the flavor variances between Thai and Indian food.

As much as I love historical fiction and dystopian adventures, this was a nice break from the heavy stuff. No one dies, for one thing. What starts with a grilled cheese sandwich ends with lasting relationships. Maybe not the type of book I would typi ...more

“I am here, forever, to protect you. To help you, to love you. To keep you happy.” It was an oath that every elf knew, but never had to say. There was no prompt. At a certain age, two elves of nearly the same name would meet. Then one would say the oath, simply because they felt compelled to. It was more than a promise; it was a feeling. One that every single elf was born with.”

“That's the wonderful thing about having someone believe in you. You don't have to do it yourself. I'm on your side; no matter what. That's why I know you can do this.”
Kristina Aziz

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
Albert Einstein

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero

“If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.”
Mark Twain

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to reform (or pause and reflect).”
