From one spot to another...
On my way home from work, I had a fun time getting a tour of the local newspaper office. Met a lot of different people and really enjoyed the City Editor taking the time to show me around.
After that I went to the Montana Book Co. and had a lot of fun looking at the store and meeting the manager. It's a really cool store, and really great people work there.

Snow?
I'll have to say, I'm becoming very used to going to work in snow storms and below zero weather...

From Montana To Idaho
I've had a great weekend so far. I've been enjoying my time in Northern Idaho.
We went hiking on some property out here by a private lake, hoping to throw a fishing line in, only to find that the lake was frozen over. And not only frozen over, but so frozen that when I threw a huge rock out there, it bounced once with a thud. The Ice? Still intact.
I also enjoyed a hilarious movie, RED, which I laughed so hard my stomach began hurting.
And best of all, my son is starting to get into baseball, so we went outside for the first time to try it out. He hit the ball a number of times. I was so impressed.

Only on V-day
Only on Valentines Day do you let your kids fill up with candy from chocolate heart boxes to let them have fun, only to come back into the living room to find a pile of vomit. What a fun day, but really the day was a lot of fun. Spending it with the wife and kids, having a party. Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Dallas, in the end.
-So, as I'm leaving the hotel yesterday morning to head home, the sun was shinning and the weather was amazing. Go figure that the awesome weather comes out right when I'm going to leave! Oh well, maybe next time.
-My goal was to be at page 400 in my manuscript by the end of my to trips. My second trip ended last night when I got home at one in the morning. Unfortunately I was only on page 391 when I got back, nine pages away from my goal. I've finished up through chapter 35 and have seven more to go.
-At some point, before I start the third in the series, I'm hoping to elicit everyone's opinion on which book to do as the third, I have two ideas....

Dallas
For three weeks I've been looking forward to coming to Dallas to get away from the cold weather. I wanted to be able to go outside without frezzing to death, and what do I find. Snow and coldness. And not only is it cold, the hotel I'm in can't seem to figure out how to turn off the A/C and turn on the heat. AHHHHH.... Anyone out there live in a place that is warm during the winter that I should fly to instead?

The Good or the Funny.
The question I face, do I tell the good or the funny story today…or maybe both. Ok, both it is.
The Good.
On my flight to Dallas today I sat next to a soldier on his way to Iraq. He came home on leave to see his first child born and than had to zip back out to Iraq. I began talking with him, just general chit chat, and realized he wasn’t doing well with heading back out. He put his headphones on and pulled a hat over his eyes. I left him alone for the next half an hour until he pulled all the head gear off. At this point I was typing away on my second book on the plane. I stopped and looked over at him and asked, “Do you want to be in a book?”
He laughed and began asking questions. Once he realized I wasn’t messing around and caught on to the seriousness of what I was talking to him about, he lit up.
“This will make for a great story to tell.” He spoke with a huge smile.
We discussed what character would get his name, and made a decision. And for now, his name shall stay a secret. But if he ever gets this message, stay safe man, we appreciate your service as well as all others that serve this country with honor.
Now the Funny.
Ok, so I think this is funny, but do tell me if my humor is just way off basis. After I got off the plane in Dallas, I jumped on a shuttle bus. There was one man there that was rather, well let’s say, thinking he was pretty important. I asked what he does and what he’s here for. He introduced himself to me as a doctor and he was going to a medical conference. Well, I’ll be careful what I write next, but it turns out he was going to the same training I was going to. I’ll make it simple, no medical doctors are coming to this training, and it isn’t a medical conference. So, after a couple of extra questions he found out I was going to the same place and knew where he was actually going. His face dropped, and I died of laughter inside.

Foot in Mouth
I've found that if there is going to be someone that says something wrong or do something wrong in front of someone that is "important", it's me. Once again, I did it today. And if I remember correctly this is the fifth time this week! I think I need to do what I've seen in some movies where I put a earpiece in and someome else tells me what to say...boy that would be nice.
