Bell's Hell

Interested to watch where the Rob Bell debate is going in the USA. Here in Europe, the cutting edge of the controversy is over universalism, which remains a bridge too far for many Evangelicals. Belief in a literal, eternal, punishment-based Hell is not as big an issue here in Europe - the debate is still alive, but there are many, many people within Orthodoxy who have moved or are moving away from such a position. Both John Sott and Roger Forster have publicly and famously embraced annihilationism, and many others with them. Strange then, that in the USA the debate is about both Universalism and Hell, with conservatives insisting not only that we must believe that some (many?) will be 'lost' but also that those that are will suffer eternally…. I respect their response and their right to make it, but I can't help feeling that this is exactly why Rob felt he had to write this book….

As they say on Broadway, this show will run and run…

Wrestling Malachi

Ging a round or two with Malachi for the Bible Readings at Spring Harvest (still room to book - www.springharvest.org).. Great material from a fascinating period in history - God's last words before 400 years of silence.
