SUPER EARTH, SUPER BRAIN! HAPPY EARTH DAY 2012- DAILY TIPS to make PLANET EARTH a better place to live
HAPPY EARTH DAY 2012- 5 DAILY TIPS FOR A BETTER EARTH. Michael Gonzalez-Wallace author of Super Body, Super Brain explains how to make the planet earth a better place to live
Happy Earth Day! Each year, more than 150 countries celebrate Earth Day by taking steps to protect our environment. All actions, big or small, make an impact – and even a few simple changes can help in the fight for a cleaner environment. This year, why not make everyday Earth Day? Here are a few small ideas that make big differences:
CENTRAL PARK PICTURES-CENTRAL PARK WITH FOG
TIPS FOR A BETTER AND HEALTHIER EARTH- TIPS FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE EARTH
Energy consumption: Turn off every electronic at night including TV computers and cell phones ( I need to work on that one). Anything electronic will increase energy consumption contributing to a warmer climate and put pressure to our earth
Recycle: Make sure you recycle daily and do not mix plastics, glass with trash and boxes. If you fail to do this the garbage truck will increase more energy to do the same job putting pressure in our earth and destroying our Ozone layer
DO not use sprays especially deodorant, use roll bars or similar, sprays contribute to increase warmer earth and layer Ozone risk
OZONE LAYER EXPLAINED-TIPS FOR SUSTAINABLE EARTH MICHAEL GONZALEZ-WALLACE, Image from Wikipedia
Use more email and less printing, do NOT print unless is strictly necessary
Wash and reuse utensils do not buy plastic utensils unless is necessary more plastic worse to the earth
Promote clean air and exercise: Do not take the car if it is not necessary take the subways or public transportation (2nd best) or walking (the best)
Cooking: do not buy precooked meals or meals in cans that destroy PLANET EARTH and OZONE LAYER, buy natural fruits vegetables, and foods from your local market and make foods with your own hands not PROCESSED FOODS!
Exercise home instead of using machines. I know that is pretty hard right I agree but why not instead of using cardio machines every day just use it few days a week and do my workout that will not require any electric consumption. Click here for an excerpt of my book SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN or do this exercise from home you will not overexpose the EARTH promise!

Book Description
Make the Most of Every Moment
Not every movement is created equal. Super Body, Super Brain’s targeted exercise circuits make every second of your workout count, harnessing the power of multitasking to sharpen your mind and tone your body in just minutes a day.
Crossword puzzles, Sodoku, computer games, and DVDs—there’s no end to the products touting their brain-boosting benefits. But in this multimillion-dollar business, one crucial tool has been overlooked: the enormous power of physical movement.
Until now. As one of New York City’s most popular trainers, Michael Gonzalez-Wallace needed to keep his busy clients happy with engaging, efficient workouts. He quickly noticed that when exercises used several muscles at once, combining coordination and precision with aerobic and strength-training actions, clients were significantly more focused—and achieved better, faster results.
Many hours of research and consultations with neuroscientists later, Gonzalez-Wallace had confirmed his instincts: exercises that demand balance and concentration not only tone the body, but actually increase brain activity. In fact, contrary to commonly held beliefs, the brain is constantly rewiring itself and capable of change at any age. This targeted program—the first of its kind—uses a series of carefully designed exercises to do just that.
As you move through Super Body, Super Brain’s innovative circuits—for little as 10 minutes a day—you will being to:
Improve your alertness and lessen fatigue
Become more mentally sharp with improved memory capability
Improve your mood
Lose weight and reduce your body fat
Strengthen your core muscles and tone your upper and lower body
Strengthen your heart and lungs and improve your endurance
Improve your balance and coordination
Transform your posture and become more flexible
As a powerful complement to these circuits, Gonzalez-Wallace has teamed up with a top nutritionist to create brain-boosting recipes that help maximize his program’s powerful results.
If you have a few minutes to spare, you have the power to look better, feel better, and tackle every day with more energy and efficiency

Parkinson and Exercise: April is Parkinson Awareness month -1 Year after SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN wins its first official grant for Parkinson disease
PARKINSON GRANT- EXERCISE TO DELAY PROGRESSION OF PARKINSON-MICHAEL GONZALEZ-WALLACE
Michael Gonzalez-Wallace author of Super Body, Super Brain writes about Parkinson and Exercise: 1 years after winning its first official grant at the Capistrant Parkinson Center in Bethesda Hospital St Paul, Minnesota.
Dear friends
This month we need to pay attention to one of the most devastating neurodegenerative diseases: Parkinson Disease. There is so much we can do and guess what: Exercise can play an important role in life quality for patients for Parkinson Disease.
I can’t believe one year has gone by since my program for Parkinson disease won its first official grant. I had a conversation with several doctors at the facility and they told me they were very happy on how people were responding. One year after and Bethesda Hospital is offering my program the whole year around Check for upcoming classes
New-Parkinsons-Program-Intensive-Exercise-may-10-2011
I am so excited and thrilled to share these incredible news with you!
After 4 years of meetings, phone calls and exhibitions with experts in Parkinson Disease I finally got my first official grant to implement my program with Parkinson patients. The program will take place at the Capistrant Parkinson Center in Bethesda Hospital St Paul, Minnesota.
I modified my program and designed specific exercises aimed to improve in the following areas: Motor skills, balance, hand eye coordination, posture, stamina, flexibility and meditation. My program is based in strength training combined with motor skills leading to a phenomenal physical workout and numerous health benefits. I can’t wait to get started with patients in Parkinson and show how this program can be extremely beneficial.
1.OVERVIEW
Parkinson has become the second more common neurological disease in United States. Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a brain disorder that affects about 1.5 million individuals in the United States, with over 60,000 new people diagnosed each year. It affects both sexes in equal numbers, and while PD usually occurs after the age of 65, 14% of those diagnosed are under the age of 50.
According to the experts Neurons in a part of the brain called the substantia nigra produce a neurotransmitter called dopamine to control movement. With Parkinson’s, these neurons die off.
The progressive loss of dopaminergic cells located in the basal ganglia leads to Parkinson patients be very sensitive to the loss of motor functions through a progresive loss of balance and coordination
SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN bases its approach in the following variables:
The powerful effects of exercise are normally understimated with Parkinson patients. Since the patient is diagnosed in the early stages it is neccesary to implement a powerful and effective physical exercise program with the goal in mind to improve motor functions, a gradual increase of balance, coordination and range of motion.
Previous research, however, has identified certain exercises that stimulate the damaged area. By subjecting patients to workouts based on that data, researchers think it may prevent further degeneration of the substantia nigra, and stimulate dopamine production, says Quincy Almeida, director of WILFRID LAURIER UNIVERSITY ‘s fledgling Movement Disorders Research & Rehabilitation Centre in Waterloo.
Other succesful treatments rconnecting physical exercise and parkinson is the Science behind de LSTV/LOUD program. Following a study of over 15 years the program has shown interesting results from the connection of physcla exercise
SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN Program stresses the importance of two powerful concepts:
-Intense brain activity and the effects of multitasking (raising heels and arms at the same time)
-Neural Plasticity (changing constantly the program). The program will consist of over 350 exercises structured in 9 progressive levels.
-Voice combined with a coordinated movement. Following succesful studies of LSVT/LOUD, where patients improved voice quality and many other important factors such as motor movement, swallowing or limb functioning.
PARKINSON FEEDBACK
Michael,
My name is MARK WILLIAMS and I am caretaker for my wife JANE WILLIAMS who has had Parkinson’s for the past 15 years. Recently I was told by a very close friend named Alan Adler that you gave a Seminar, sponsored by Somerset Hospital, within the past few weeks. He had attended and thought you might be a help to my wife, as the disease is really beginning to take it’s toll. He gave me your literature which I had perused and I think must have unwittingly been discarded with the newspapers.
We did however salvage the blue plastic ball which you had given to my friend Alan. The ball had been sitting in a bowl in the kitchen. A few days ago Joan picked up the ball and began throwing it in the air and catching it. When I observed this I was sitting about 10 feet away when she dropped the ball I picked it up, threw it back and she easily caught it. I was impressed and we began throwing it back and forth. I am amazed that I can throw it to the right or left, up high or down low and she never misses carching it. It’s the best brain to muscle control I’ve been able to observe. As a result we do it now for maybe 10 min twice a day. I praise her and I can see she is very pleased with her accomplishment.
Would you be so kind as to send me copies of your literature which you had passed out at the seminar?
Thank you,

Christianity an Judaism: Personal reflections on Easter. Christianity can learn from Judaism and Judaism can learn from Christianity
Michael Gonzalez-Wallace writes on his personal reflections of Christianity and Judaism. Image BigStockphoto
Learning and tolerance are critical values in our society. A personal reflexion of Christianity and Judaism: As a proud Christian and being raised in two different countries such as Spain and The United States and being educated under the umbrella of two great churches such as the Catholic and Lutheran I can consider myself a proud Christian and a true believer of a driven force above us and without question I accept, admit and honor the historical existence of an incredible visionary great man, a Palestinian Jew born in the village of Judea called Jesus Christ.
However, being a trainer in New York City for over 10 years and having at least 80% of my clients under the Jewish culture I may add that I always hear with certain degree of envy every time my clients explain how they are keeping their Jewish traditions alive especially with children. As Christians, we go to Church, we listen to the Priest or Pastors then we go back home and gather with our loved ones. Once at the table we talk about life, food, politics, our future projects, or sometimes irrelevant topics. Judaism has been able to keep traditions alive and every time the Jewish family gathers and sits down they narrate episodes of the Exodus, Moses or how Israel was born. No matter if we are religious or not, we Christians should feel more connected to our history, more proud of it and we should be able to pass it over through future generations. Without question, something incredible happened at that time, an incredible ordeal that a great man went through. The importance of this historical event has been mentioned by historians as something supernatural and extraordinary. Going back to the traditions, How many of you when you are seated at the table take few minutes to read from the Bible or eat similar foods to that historical time, similar to our Thanksgiving dinner? For those ones, who are keeping the tradition alive well done, you should be proud of yourselves.

Happy Easter and Happy Passover! Healthy Easter Recipes! Cold Poached Salmon salad with ginger soy dressing and for dessert Spiced baked Apple with Prunes and walnuts
Poached Salmon Salad with ginger, walnuts and dried cranberries. Michael Gonzalez-Wallace Author of Super Body, Super Brain offers a recipe to make your Easter a memorable one!
Happy Easter and Happy Passover to everyone! I love this time of the year because of all the memories I still have from my native Spain and how my catholic grandmother would take me to church and attend catholic mass. In Spain everything stops, banks are closed, schools are finished, it is official holidays for the whole week, in New York I feel that is a normal day so I need to adjust a little and still have my little thankfulness and remembrance for those days. Here you can see some of the Religious Processions in Spain. Religious significance for sure no matter if you are Christian and remembering Jesus Christ sacrificing journey or Moses leadership in the Exodus. We need to look back no matter our religion and really acknowledge and congratulate our past ancestors for such a strong struggle, vision, sacrifice and community serving that lasts with us today. That is way for today I wanted to share two really delicious recipes that you can share with your friends just in case you are running out of ideas. I hope you enjoy them!

EGGS
Egg yolks contain choline, a nutrient that is important for memory. Studies show that deficiency in choline may contribute to age-related mental decline
GINGER
Ginger may be best known for improving digestive health. As an anti-inflammatory, the benefits of ginger are unquestioned. In history, the traditional medicines of both India and China have valued ginger against arthritis and rheumatic complaints.
BERRIES
Berries including blueberries, strawberries or blackberries: Studies show that people who eat strawberries improve their memory and their motor skills. In addition, their critical antioxidant properties can protect your brain from the oxidative process

Autism and Exercise. 1 in 88 children has been diagnosed with Autism. My experience training a wonderful girl with Severe Autism
Autism and Exercise: Autism Therapy. Image Purchased: Bigstockphoto
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 1 in 88 children in the United States has been identified as having an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), according to a new study. Autism spectrum disorders are almost five times more common among boys than girls — with 1 in 54 boys identified.[image error]
Among my daily clients include Athletes, bankers, editors in chief, actresses, models, lawyers, doctors and special needs children. Training these kids it has been an incredible experience but especially working with a girl with severe autism has reported me so much satisfaction that I can not express in my own words.
These three last years has been an incredible journey for me, I keep learning every day and me and my client are working as a team since we got started, 3 years ago. The capacity these kids have for success and their willingness to give their best still leaves me speechless even today. I have been working for the last two years in devising a specific program for them where they will improve the brain plasticity with movement, multi-tasking, sensory system, balance, hand eye coordination and confidence.
Meditation is really important for kids with Autism and everyone else. I practice with my client lying down in a dark room and relax for 5 minutes teaching breathing and a better sense of self awareness. Very excited that my client is responding so well to my program.
