I am a writer, editor, and former marketing executive in the travel and publishing industries. Most recently I have been working full-time as a writer and have co-authored four books with Richard Starks: 'Lost in Tibet',(The Lyons Press, 2012) which tells the true story of five young US airmen who, in 1943, were forced to bail out of the plane they were flying and found themselves stranded in Tibet; 'Along the River that Flows Uphill - from the Orinoco to the Amazon', (first published in print by Haus Publishing, 2009, and now also available as an ebook) which describes the difficult times we had traveling along the remote Casiquiare river in Venezuela; 'A Room with a Pew - Sleeping our way through Spain's ancient monasteries', (The Lyons P ...more

This story promised more than it delivered. Motivations were spelled out when they should have been sussed out by the reader. Characters were explained rather than revealed. Pity, because it could have been really good.

I am sure the emotional abuse and blackmail of a child as recorded in this memoir occur in many broken marriages but without the fame and fortune that allows for a public recalling. An affecting read.
