yousuckthecomic:

"IAP" is shorthand for "in-app purchase", which is essentially the primary source of income for mobile games these days. Rather than charge a price upfront for the games, they’ll give them away, and then charge money for extra content.

It’s a technique that’s as old as time, really, and certainly familiar to webcomic authors. Nevertheless, it seemed like a fitting, appropriately dorky moniker for You Suck’s bonus stories. Much like video game IAPs, it enhances the series a bit while being not at all necessary to enjoy the original work.

In IAP #1 (fig.1),we get to see what happened behind the door of Anna’s sexy neighbor, during this part of the story. It’s basically a big sex scene with cute dialogue, and serves as an introduction to the sort of “MEANWHILE” stories that IAP will offer.

IAP #2 (fig. 2) takes place many years before You Suck begins, where we are taken to the college days of Anna’s cool profressor Leatherby. This one’s a bit more elaborate than the first IAP and is a setup that introduces us to the little club he mentioned to Anna… This brings us to…

IAP #3 (fig. 3), the current work in progress, is where we get to see the club meeting take place, the first one that Leatherby takes part in. And suffice to say it’s a good time for all. It’s a story about dorks and S&M, and it gives a bit of insight and why Leatherby was just Anna’s type.

IAP 3 is running on Slipshine right now! The first part went up just today, and it’ll be published in 3 or 4 parts throughout May. If you’re a Slipshine subscriber, you can read it right now! And if you were a backer (at least $5), you’ll be able to read all these stories in the book. But not only that, Once I finish IAP 3, IAP 2 & 3 will be made into a PDF for backers to read early! How about that eh?

The third IAP story is the most elaborate project I need to finish before I can finish the book and continue the comic. I am planning to have it done before the end of the month. Hope everyone enjoys it!

Last night (Sunday) I went with some friends to see Super Happy Funtime Burlesque at the Bryant-Lake Bowl theater! It was my first burlesque show, and I took the liberty to commemorate the experience with some life drawing. It wasn’t an actual life drawing event like Dr. Sketchy’s, so it was tricky getting anything good of the lady performers because they moved around so much! I also ran out of ink in my main sketching pen 2/3 of the way through the show, so I had to switch it up some.

It was a really fun time and a great introduction to burlesque. I’m looking forward to my next show! I also got to say hi to the crew and hang out with Megan a bit, which was also amazing. As soon as she has the book about her autobiographical road stories, I’m getting a copy!

Hope y’all enjoy these. Each picture has a little caption if you wanna look at them.

This was a cool show and it was great to meet Megan and if they come by your city you should totally go!

(I may do a fanart of the show myself)

tovecomic:

Tove has been signed up with Hiveworks! Many of my favorite comics are currently surviving and thriving with Hiveworks’ help, so I consider it a huge honor to be placed under the same publisher. It’s both exciting and nerve-wracking. There is MUCH work to be done. But with the help of a publisher as great as Hiveworks I feel much better about the future of this comic that I care about so much.

A launch date is approaching! My original plan was to launch in the first week of May, but that is being pushed back while I get the website ready and hammer things out with Hiveworks. The delay simply means more time to get more and better pages ready!
