Maureen Lang

Maureen Lang has always had a passion for writing. She wrote her first novel longhand around the age of 10, put the pages into a notebook she had covered with soft deerskin (nothing but the best!), then passed it around the neighborhood to rave reviews. It was so much fun she's been writing ever since.

Most of her books are historical, with an emphasis on faith and romance.

Maureen lives in the Midwest with her husband, her two sons, and their much-loved dog, Susie. Visit her Web site at www.maureenlang.com.

Free Book for Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day may be an American holiday, but it’s more than just a weekend for mattress sales and barbecues! For us, Memorial Day is in addition to Veteran’s Day, which we celebrate in November. Other countries celebrate their war heroes in November as well, harking back to the armistice at the conclusion of World War […]

Whisper on the Wind (Romance)
1 chapters   —   updated Jun 09, 2010 12:56PM
Description: The setting is Belgium, 1916, at the height of the German occupation of World War One. It's a story inspired by the true events of a clandestine newspaper called La Libre Belgique, whose goal at the time was to offer hope to oppressed Belgians—and to defy their heavy-handed occupiers. It's both a romance and an intrigue, where the character's risk their lives to do what they believe is right.

I liked a lot about this book, including the Maui setting which included some of its history and strong family culture. This was also a very readable book, one I wanted to return to until it was finished. I did wonder why the rather detailed subplot ...more

“...it reminded me of the blood that runs through me, blessed and chosen by God to survive all and whatever comes my way. I remember when I hold it that I have the strength of the Lord on my side, and I can survive...All and whatever.”
Maureen Lang, Whisper on the Wind

“It is an utter violation of good breeding and training to speak or to behave in a way that disrespects, embarrasses, or otherwise denigrates aother human being; in so doing, you denigrate yourself as well.”
Maureen Lang, Bees in the Butterfly Garden

“Marriage is holy in God’s eyes, a symbol of loyalty that mirrors God’s loyalty to us. It’s a union that will make one man and one woman better together than they can be apart.”
Maureen Lang, Bees in the Butterfly Garden
