With the approaching release of the fifth exodus novel in March, I thought I'd give a general tidbit of information about it. PHOENIX is on its way out of alliance space to begin its long-term mission of exploration. But problems are brewing with one of the alliance races, who are having trouble adapting to their newfound freedom (I won't reveal which race).

I can't believe it's the end of summer already. Since I left the corporate world I thought I'd have some free time. Instead, I'm finding I'm more busy. How the heck did I work a full-time job and do all this other stuff?

The two exodus novels are proceeding nicely. Right now I'm focusing more on the Phoenix novel. After struggling to come up with a cohesive overall plot line, I managed to pull it together. Of course, it resulted in me deleting almost a quarter of the draft I wrote, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I also hired a professional book designer for all my existing novels. I decided that writing stories is what I do best, designing book covers is best left to the experts. I found a great designer who's put out some great new covers for me (big shout to Dane at Ebook Launch).

I've also expanded the availability of my novels beyond amazon. Most (and eventually all) will be put up on Smashwords and made available on all the major ebook store platforms.

March 19, 2017

It's been a year since I posted anything here. Time certainly stops for no one. A lot has happened the last twelve months.

First, after much consideration I elected to retire from my corporate career. It was not a quick decision, one I took many months weighing. But I realized life is too short. When I took a step back and evaluated my life, I realized that writing is one of the consistent areas that I enjoy engaging in. So I've chosen to write full time.

With that said I looked at what I enjoy writing. I have a lot of stories in my head: sci-fi, fantasy, etc. But I found what compels me to write is the Exodus universe I created. I want to explore more of that world I created. So right now I'm writing not one but two novels concurrently. One is about the PHOENIX, which was the starship featured in my exodus series of novels. I think this will be the last novel of the PHOENIX. Her story has been pretty much told and I want to focus on other areas of the Exodus universe.

That leads me to the other novel. I'm writing about the crew of one of TERRA's capital ships. What the PHOENIX accomplished had a significant impact on the military arm of TERRA, and I want to explore how that impact has influenced the organization.

So there you have it. I don't have much more to say beyond this update. When I get close to publishing either novel I'll certainly announce the news. Until then....

March 8, 2016

It's been a couple of years since I've been on this site. The last two years found me busy with work, taking care of personal matters, a new relationship. These things had pushed my writing to the sidelines for quite some time.

In the last couple of months I re-evaluated my goals as a writer. Although I had previously said I wouldn't be writing new adventures of the starship PHOENIX, I've found myself drawn back more and more to those characters. So much so that I've been working on a new exodus series novel to document some of the first adventures the crew had in their initial exploration of space away from the alliance.

With the new novel underway, I've also been revisiting the original four exodus novels. A couple weeks ago I published the revised Exodus Of The Phoenix, refining my writing and making some minor changes to it. I also decided to hire out artists to do new book covers and Exodus Of The Phoenix is the first novel to receive its new cover. This new cover is important as it finally gives readers a visual look of the starship PHOENIX. I'll be following it up with some marketing campaigns, again hiring out experts to do the promotions for me.

My intention here is to reboot my writing career, but I don't want to let the novels I've already written sit in their current forms. I've developed my writing skills and want to apply them to improving the novels already out there as I work on my new novel.

In the next couple of weeks I'll be putting out the new book cover for the second exodus novel, Phoenix Among The Stars. I'm excited about what I have planned for my existing books as well as the new ones about the PHOENIX I'm writing about.

February 27, 2014

As of five minutes ago I've officially finished with The Io Effect. A year and a half of work finally at an end.

Now I just have to package the novel and prep it for publication. I'll be announcing when the novel goes up on sale at amazon, hopefully in the next few days.

Wow, I didn't realize it's been so long since I posted an update. The second half of the year has been extremely busy, and so many things have gone on in my life...

Anyways, over the weekend I finally completed the companion novel to the exodus series, The Io Effect. I've printed off copies of it and will be sending it to a few individuals who'll be proofreading it for me. I initially had a target date of February 2014 to publish the book, but it looks like March will be a more realistic date.

Although this novel takes place in the exodus series, I've come to treat it as a legacy novel, representing as how we view our pasts. More so this novel contains so many components of people who are important to me in my life. This past year I've learned a lot about dealing with losing those I care about, and I guess this novel's a representation of those feelings. Even last week I had some friends suffer a terrible loss and who they lost has become a part of this novel. I guess it's my way of ensuring this person, and the others I've lost, will live on.
