A New Post About Villains
Today’s post can be found at http://www.sfnovelists.com, the group blog on speculative fiction that I maintain along with a group of over one hundred published authors of fantasy and science fiction. It is called “Villains!” and it’s about some of the things I consider when creating villains for my novels. I hope you enjoy it.

Home from JordanCon and a Post from Di Francis
I returned home late yesterday from JordanCon, after a terrific weekend. The folks at the con treated me wonderfully and I had a chance to visit with my old friend, Jana Oliver, and to meet new friends Brandon Sanderson, Eugie Foster, and Harriet MacDougal (Robert Jordan's widow). Because I returned home late, Diana Pharaoh Francis took my blogging slot at Magical Words this week. Check out her post here. And I'll be back to posting at Magical Words next week.

Off to JordanCon!
Later today I'm heading down to Atlanta for JordanCon, where I am this year's Literary Guest of Honor. I'm excited about the convention -- it looks like there will be some great writing-oriented programming, and the other guests include Brandon Sanderson, Eugie Foster, and my wonderful friend, Jana Oliver. If you happen to be in the area, please stop in and say hello, maybe catch a panel or two.

AFTER HOURS Reviews and a Contest!
Reviews are out for After Hours: Tales from the Ur-Bar, which includes "The Tavern Fire," my first publication as D.B. Jackson. I would steer you to the reviews with links, but I'm not going to do that directly. Instead, I'm going to steer you to the D.B. Jackson blog, where you can find those links as well information about a contest that's underway at the After Hours livejournal page. Why am I doing this? Why be so annoying? Well, to be honest, I'm trying to steer a bit more traffic to D.B.'s blog, as well as his website. So check out the blog. Check out the reviews. Enter the contest. Buy the anthology! It all starts here.

We talked about a range of things, from the first book I ever wrote (at age 6) to the Thieftaker series, which will debut next year. Please visit the site and check out the interview here.
