Laura Roberts writes steamy romance under the pen name Laure LAmour, has written an entire novel in just three days, and publishes books that press buttons at Buttontapper Press. She currently lives in Sacramento, California with her artist husband and their literary kitties, and can be found on Twitter @buttontapper or Instagram @LauraRobertsRomance. When shes not writing, she can be found watching reality TV and romcoms, testing chocolate recipes, or searching for more typewriters to add to her collection.

Blurring the lines between fact and fiction, Laura has penned 18 books for adults, including the alphabetical travel guides Montreal from A to Z and San Diego from A to Z, the offbeat writing guides NaNoWriMo: A Cheater's Guide and

It's a short book about my participation in the 2011 3-Day Novel Contest, and gives readers some insight into my writing process, as well as tips for writing your own book in 3 days

I would define best-selling for myself as "the book that is making me the most money on a daily basis." I usually sell at least 1 copy of this book every day, whereas most of my other books (which, btw, are mostly fiction) experience only sporadic sales. That doesn't sound quite as exciting as being a "New York Times Bestselling Author," but honestly, I prefer to see the regular sales coming in. I'll leave the bestseller lists to those who actively seek that out, and just keep on writing new books instead!(less)

All of your favorite authors have written something political, I'm sure. And if you don't believe this to be true, then I would highly recommend adding more classic works to your literary diet. I'd suggest Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, 1984, Animal Farm, The Handmaid's Tale, anything by Charles Dickens, and The Hunger Games to start. Let me know if you need any additional suggestions for your reading list!(less)

Love in the time of Coronavirus

As you have no doubt heard from every single corporation that has access to your email by now, the Coronavirus/COVID-19 has shut down the state of California for the foreseeable future. Which is bad news for my planned April 1st release of my new travel guide, Sacramento From A to Z, but is good news for my fiction WIP, Parisian Persuasion (to which I have switched my efforts, in order to maint...

“The basic premise of the Hero’s Quest is simple: pick a hero and send him on a journey.   Naturally, the journey can’t be too easily accomplished – that’s why it’s a quest and not just a trip to the grocery store.”

“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.”
Robert Frost

“If you want to really hurt you parents, and you don't have the nerve to be gay, the least you can do is go into the arts. I'm not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possible can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”
Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country

“In writing a novel, when in doubt, have two guys come through the door with guns.”
Raymond Chandler
