His Witness Is Out

Welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to share I've re-released a revised version of Evil's Witness as His Witness To Evil. I just love the cover, don't you? It's available on Amazon and B&N.

When I began to write romantic suspense, I tossed out several reams of paper. Why? Because no matter how I tried I couldn't keep my villain hidden. He kept voicing his POV and writing his own chapters. I nearly ripped my hair out by the roots fighting with him to stay silent. Then I read a wonderful book, ...

What's up Phil?

Tuesday is the first day of spring. Signs of its arrival have been popping up and out for the past three weeks here in NE PA. It was reported that Punxsutawney Phil was not available for comment concerning Mother's Nature thumbing her nose at him. HA ha-ha!

Spring brings many memories to my mind. One is my grandmother. As soon as the weather broke and the coal stove was dampened down and the windows open to let fresh air breeze through the house, it was time for spring cleaning. The furn...

What do you see?

I stopped in at my son's house. He and his wife just bought the 1940 bungalow style situated on a picturesque acre. He proudly showed me around the property and while doing so pointed out several trees which he intended to take down. Unless trees are dead or diseased I hate to see them removed, especially trees that survived a century or more. And, especially trees that are the home to a spirit. And that is exactly what my son had. He had a tree with a face.

When I told him what I saw, he to...

I'm Addicted

I love reading. I read everything. The receptionists in the doctors' offices I patron all know me as the woman who will pick up free flyers, after magazines, after newspapers and sit away from the patients and read. And, I bring my kindle with me. (Well, I usually take the free flyers home with me.)

More than once, people have nearly stumbled over me in the aisle at B&N because I will just sit on the floor and search for the perfect book to take home with me.

My dear husband has given up on tel...

Get It Done Your Way

A Fork, Knife and Elephant Means What?

They're all elements in an old parable where a man feels overwhelmed at the daunting task of eating an elephant. I never heard this story until last July, at the RWA national conference. I think it was either Roxanne St. Clair or Harlen Coben and Lisa Jackson who brought the story up during their discussion.

Writing a book can be much like eating an elephant at one sitting, if we let it be.
First, know writing a quality novel takes thought, sweat and t...

What Women Really Want

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and most guys are probably rolling their eyes and moaning, "I just got through Christmas" or "Man, I screwed up with my last gift. I really need to give her something great. It's too cold to sleep in the doghouse."

Relax guys. I'll tell you want woman. Romance.

Romance is not something you can buy in a store. It doesn't cost a cent. The expensive flowers are great, and so are the chocolate and jewelry. They're appreciated, but they're not romance. A...

What Makes A Romance?

Recently, a friend and I had a conversation concerning movies that featured a growing relationship between a man and a woman and what really makes them a true romance. I mean there are a lot of films that have a love story up front and center but still they're not considered a romance. Examples that jump to mind are, Speed, Romancing The Stone, and The Mummy. Don't believe me? Google them.
So what makes one story an epic romance and the other an action story? Let's compare these two example...

Keeping That Poinsetta

It's soon time to start my seedlings.

I know what you're thinking. It's January. Are you nuts?

No. I love flowers and want to enjoy them as soon as possible and as for all as possible, so I start my seeds in early February and transplant them outside in early May. But since I have a few weeks before I start, I decided to take on another plant project--my Poinsettia.

My DH and I received this poinsettia as a gift from the Cancer center of which he is a patient. I've never had one this big. It i...

In My World

In My World

Winter. I love this time of year. I always have. Why?
My answer; why not?

I know many look at the winter as being gloomy, filled with empty trees limbs, often cloudy skies and bone chilling weather. I see those things, and more, in a different light.

I mean look at this tree. It stands in my front yard. I love studying its bones. How they reach up to the sky. How they bend and give away to a northern gust. You can't see those bones in the summer.

And here is a picture of an early m...

Real or Fiction

Where in the hell do you get your ideas? That is the number one question I get from readers. My answer is simple. Life.

If you've read any of my published works, you're probably saying yeah right. That really happened to you? My answer is, "Well, not all of it, but the catalyst for the story really did happen to me, or to someone close to me."

Example, in 'Obsessed By WildFire' the heroine is a barrel racer. I was a barrel racer and have a few ribbons to prove it. My family's barn burned at...
