Hey, that's a good question. Hopefully the answer isn't too boring!

As often happens, the inspiration for the series was inspired by a simple observation, filtered though my imagination.

I was upgrading the operating system on my Mac, watching the processes as it it upgraded, and I realised that the latest OS X was reusing some parts of the old OS, whilst overwriting other parts. I idly wondered what the bits that were being overwritten would feel about the upgrade, and what the parts that were untouched would make of the new environment they were now operating within.

The idea kept churning around in my brain, refusing to leave (which is how I tend to recognise when an idea is good enough to put down on paper), evolving and growing with every passing day.

A week or so later the plot for 0.4 (Human.4) arrived at the front of my mind, pretty much fully formed. (less)

I guess the answer lies with publishers, really. I have another couple of books planned in that series (a midquel [?] that comes between 1 & 2 and answers a few of the questions raised in both books; and then a final hurrah that looks even further into the future and answers some more) but they're on hold as I work on another series (dotwav is the first book, I'm writing the 2nd now) and I'll have to see if the love is there for pointfour sequels when I return to them.

At the moment you're stuck on a cliffhanger, but it's a kinda cool cliff to be hanging off, and if I get a chance to continue the series I will. In a heartbeat. I love the pointfour world and the things I can do there. (less)

So, I’m moving my base of operations to the new hub at www.themindfeather.com.

I feel like I need a change of location and of focus.

I’ll keep Analogue Signals up as an archive, but I have other stuff planned that kinda needs a new home.

themindfeather.com is that home.

I have lots of great stuff planned.

Hope to see you there.

Lynn Mccorry Hi Mike (I'm presuming this goes to Mike and not to a group? If it does go to a group, sorry.) I was just wondering if there was going to be a third book in the Point 4 series. The first two blew me away. I'd love to read another book in this awesome series.

Mike Lancaster Hi there! I'm so glad that you loved the book, and incredibly grateful that you'll try the next one. I'm rather proud of the sequel. And it's jolly nice to have you as a friend. I see from your profile that you're writing your own novel - I wish you the very best of luck with it. It's hard work, but utterly rewarding. :)

aria [dear darling reader] Hey! :D
I loved your book. Can't wait for the next one.
