My Pet Peeve (one of the many!)

There is a particular intersection near our shopping centre. It's fairly new, with traffic lights installed only a few months ago. For some reason, this intersection seems to have different rules than all others. For example, if a car is travelling through the lights and they turn red, said vehicle will stop IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION to allow pedestrians to cross the road...even though the flow of traffic is now blocked with cars banking up and road rage-level abuse being hurled about. All because of one driver thinking it's ok to stop in the middle of a junction...very irritating, very stupid, and just one of my many pet peeves! (Another is having so many new books to choose from that I can't decide what I want to read next, but that's another story!)

Me, Me, Me...And Then Some

Ok, I am still learning about doing blogs, but while I've been checking out other people's I neglected this very basic, very new one. Ok, I forgot I had it! (That doesn't make me a bad person...I think.)

I've been on Facebook for 10 months, and some of the finer details still escape me - not that I'm slow to learn, I just take my time so it sinks in (does that sound sincere? Hope so). And most recently - yesterday, in fact - I signed up to Twitter. Why, when I'm obviously so very clueless in the ways of technology, do I do this, you ask?... You didn't? Ok, it's actually something I'VE been wondering myself. And the simple answer is: necessity. Every year (or so) I talk myself into trying out something new - purely out of desperation, hoping to find new ways to promote my book and get it 'out there'.

Why every year (or so)? Because it takes me that long to decide if it's really something I have to do! (That old saying 'I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure' was written about me, I am convinced!)

So all these things I've signed up for, signed on for, joined into...even in its basic form, it's sort of overwhelming. Most times I message a friend or my nephew - because that IS something I actually know how to do with 100% success! - for help; often my friend is more assistance, because she's not falling about laughing at the 'so very simple' solution to my problem. She waits until we're finished before she starts laughing - I really appreciate that! :D

Basically, this rambling, pointless 'little' tale is just my way of saying that I appreciate your patience, I am still learning - but having a lot of fun at the same time! :D
