Can I be sheeple?
Have you ever wished you were ordinary? That whatever makes you unique: your intelligence, your talents, your sense of style, your personality… and just get rid of it and be mundane?
I’m sure life would be much easier if I could just cry drama, have others do for me, and not have to think ever…

My Ravencon Schedule
Up next on my convention calendar: Ravencon !
I’m a little busy this con: 14 Hours of programming!
Friday, April 25th
8 pm - From Geek To Chic
As Felicia Day and The Guild sing, “I’m the one that’s Cool” Geeks have transitioned from being marginalized to being in the center. What are the driving forces behind this change? And what group is now on the margin?
KT Pinto, Grig Larson, Angela Pritchett, Nathan Skreslet, Ly Cao
9 pm - Epic Fail
Failure is not always bad. It can be instructive. Panelists discuss great ideas that on further reflection were not so great and what they learned from the experience.
KT Pinto, T. Eric Bakutis, Dan Hoyt, Doc Coleman
10 pm - The Books They Carry
Panelists talk about books they loved or influenced them when they were young.
Elizabeth Bear, Edward Fortner, KT Pinto, Bill Blume, Kate Paulk
midnight - The Eye of Argon
The worst science fiction story ever written gets a reading by our brave panel as they compete to go the longest without tripping over a misspelled word or laughing uncontrollably. Audience members are also encouraged to take a chance. Can you keep a straight face, especially when the panel begins acting out the story?
Michael Ventrella (M), Tee Morris, Gail Martin, KT Pinto, Philippa Ballantine
Saturday, April 26th
9 am - Can Fandom Break Free of the Geek Social Fallacies
Sheldon (The Big Bang Theory), Tony Stark (Iron Man), Abby (NCIS), Penny in Big Bang (geek groupie), Melody in Green’s Ghost Finders series (smart girl geek/nympho), Velma (smart, glasses, social loser) vs. Xena (uber warrior) or the ever present witchy-bitch. Geeks are becoming popular heroes to society at large. Are these good representations of geekdom, or just Hollywood stereotyping?
KT Pinto, Grig Larson, The Bruce, Kara Dennison
4 pm - Reading with KT Pinto
From YA lit to erotica, KT Pinto has it all! (And chocolate. You can’t have a KT meet and greet/reading/get together without chocolate!) Come visit with the… quirky… author and find out both what’s up with her these days and what she has planned in the upcoming months. Oh, and did we mention chocolate?
8 -10 pm Allen Wold’s Writer Workshop
Participants do a small writing exercise, which is then evaluated by the panel, discussing where they have done well and where they can improve
Allen Wold, Darcy Wold, KT Pinto, Michael Ventrella
11 pm - The Shrinking of American Heroes
Greek heroes had flaws, such as hubris. American heroes are not allowed to have flaws. To have flaws is not to be a hero. Panelists discuss the reasons that heroes seem to have fallen out of favor. Do we want to look down on our heroes instead of looking up to them?
Gail Z. Martin, Gregory Smith, Kate Paulk, KT Pinto
midnight - Hauntingly Yours
Panelists tell ghost stories. Panelists also discuss our fascination with the ghost story and why we tell ourselves ghost stories.
Rich Groller, KT Pinto, Pamela K. Kinney, Tim Burke
Sunday, April 27th
10 am - Seriously inventive ways of killing people
No description needed!
Pamela K. Kinney, Michael Z. Williamson, KT Pinto, Grig Larson
11 am - Signing
1 pm -Self-censorship
Panelists discuss different scenarios involving creative people censoring themselves and if the self-censorship is a beneficial or an unconstructive reaction.
KT Pinto, Gail Z. Martin, Barb Fischer, Tee Morris
2 pm - Allen Wold’s Writer Workshop, Part 2
Allen Wold, Darcy Wold, Michael Ventrella, KT Pinto
