I have a story being offered as part of this project. It’s a great book and you should check it out. As a bonus, some of the current stretch goals are to get new illustrations for all of the short stories being written for the campaign’s anthology, and I would love to get more original art based on my writing. Plus, the book is great, the anthology is going to be great, and I think you’re going to enjoy them.

What is Frozen Hell?

In 1938, acclaimed science fiction author John W. Campbell published the novella Who Goes There?, about
a team of scientists in Antarctica who discover and are terrorized by a
monstrous, shape-shifting alien entity. The story would  later be
adapted into John Carpenter’s iconic movie The Thing (following
an earlier film adaptation in 1951). The published novella was actually
an abridged version of Campbell’s original story, called Frozen Hell, which had to be shortened for publication. The Frozen Hell manuscript remained unknown and unpublished for decades, and it was only recently rediscovered. Frozen Hell expands
the Thing story dramatically, giving vital backstory and context to an
already incredible tale. We are pleased and honored to  offer Frozen Hell to you now, as Campbell intended it. You will be among the first people to ever read this completed version of the story.

Short Things, an anthology of short stories inspired by John W. Campbell’s Frozen Hell,
featuring chilling new tales by acclaimed and award-winning authors,
including works by Kevin J. Anderson, John Gregory Betancourt,  Allan
Cole, Paul Di Filippo, G. D. Falksen, Alan Dean Foster, Nina  Kiriki
Hoffman, Mark McLaughlin, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Pamela Sargent,  Allen
Steele, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, and others. This reward also  includes
everything from the Ebook Bundle reward. Artist Dan Brereton will do a
brand new cover for the Short Things anthology.
