is on page 500 of 699 of Lord of Shadows: I'm really struggling with this series. I'm not a fan of the Blackthorns. Their self-interest, how self-centered they are, their arrogance and ruthlessness. Julian called them a likable family, but for me they are anything but likable. I mostly keep reading because I like Cristina and Kieran and I get to see my favourite warlock and my favourite Shadowhunters from time to time, so there's that.

This was the first day of their vacation, and admittedly, Augie (as he liked to be called) wasn't as excited about it as he would've been had Earl and Marge decided to take them all to Disneyland instead, because firstly, he'd been dealing with a paralyzing fear of water all of his life, and secondly, they were staying in a cabin on an isolated stretch of beach in the Florida Keys.
