At the legendary New World Pictures, I edited scripts, wrote publicity material, cast voice actors, and tried my hand at production. One highlight was coming up with the twist ending to a cult classic, Death Race 2000. I’ve written six produced screenplays, and played several cameo roles (in all of which I kept my clothes on).

Since leaving Corman’s employ, I have been active as a journalist, while also teaching screenwriting workshops through UCLA Extension. My

Marriage Story: The Sun Comes Up, I Think About You

Stephen Sondheim, composer/lyricist of arcane but wonderful Broadway musicals, is certainly having a moment at the movies. It’s an odd, unlikely plot detail, but one that seems – upon reflection – to provide a whimsical clue to the film’s ending. Then... Read more of this blog post »

Roger Corman by Beverly Gray
I've discovered that Roger Corman enthusiasts associate him with many different films in several different eras. Some moviegoers love Roger's elegant Edgar Allan Poe adaptations, while others like the wacky humor of "Little Shop of Horrors," or the psychedelic boldness of "the Trip," or the outrageous premise of "Death Race 2000." To any Corman fans out there: what is your favorite Corman movie?
