Had to share. Look at those eyes. I think he wants a treat. No, he is not mine, but mine does a good pitiful look too.

Lots of history shows coming on tv. Sons of Liberty is the next up, this weekend, 3 nights in a row on History Channel. With Ben Barnes as a hot Sam Adams. Good to see Sam get some air time---most people don't know much about him and he was a trouble maker. Do you plan to watch this? I have read it is not for finicky historical accuracy types. But I am going to give it a try anyway.

Notice that this cottage is behind a big house. Isn't it adorable? Me want! It would be cool to have that as a writing studio, And my desire for one has nothing at all to do with my husband being around the house so much now. Not a thing. Really. Cross my heart.

Have you read the 200 'best American novels'? | Art Beat | PBS NewsHour

Over the summer, The American Scholar published two lists of the 100 best American novels from 1770-1985. We've combined the lists and we're asking: which ones have you read? What is missing and what should be included after 1985?

Golden Globes night last night--- like many, I watch for the gowns. Ok, I am shallow. I don't want commentary on the show for it, I can form my own opinions. Below are three gowns I really liked, although I wonder how Heidi Klum's stays up on that one side (glue?). The last one is Keira Knightly's choice. Ummmm. . . .Maybe it looked better on the hanger?
They don't buy these. Designers lend them, to get the publicity. So I guess Keira *wanted* that one.
My favorite is the grey one Kate Beckinsale is wearing. It may not be innovative, but it is very classy.

First meaningful snow of the season. All of two inches, but it is still falling. Lots of fender benders out there. It takes people around here a couple of snowstorms before they remember how to drive in it each year. I'd run out for a few groceries, but when it snows people here hoard, especially milk, bread and t.p., so the stores are probably out of all of those things right now.
