June 25, 2013: Wet Feet For Ross

Our Director of Sales, Ross Jepson, lives near Calgary. They're having some unseasonably damp weather right now, and not only does Ross have very little in the way of phone or Internet this week, but he's also been pretty busy helping those who need it. His own home, we're happy to say, is well away from the flooding.

At any rate, if you're used to getting regular communications from Ross, they will resume after this temporary interruption.

June 26, 2013: Chupacabra: Survive The Night Joins The Illuminati

Remember a few months ago we announced that we were interested in acquisitions? Well, things are happening. I'm happy to announce that this November we'll add a really great new dice game to our catalog. Chupacabra: Survive the Night , originally published by Haywire Group, will appear in a Zombie Dice -style package in November! You can read our press release for details, or jump straight to the official webpage for more info.

Steve, Paul Chapman, and I got to play Chupacabra: Survive the Night just before it was released, and we really like it. We couldn't pass up the chance to add it to our line! It fits perfectly with our other dice games, especially  Zombie Dice and Cthulhu Dice . Thank you to everyone at Haywire Group for working with us to make this happen, and thanks to all of you for supporting us and putting us in a position to take on and publish more and more awesome games.

Phil Reed

PS: If you aren't from the Southwest, here's where you can learn more about the spooky Chupacabra.

June 27, 2013: Dexcon Next Week

Surely you haven't forgotten that next week is your chance to meet Steve and Daniel at Dexcon in Morristown, NJ, have you? Good!

Then I also shouldn't need to remind you that they'll be arriving in The Garden State with a veritable torrent of Ogre . They'll have samples on hand – for demos and for just general show and tell. But what you can really get excited about is the Ogre Macrotures event. The good folks at Dexcon will be filling an entire arena with an oversized Ogre game, featuring, as its centerpiece, a two foot long Ogre! Another event will have Steve playing 12 Ogre games simultaneously, attempting to crush 12 command posts at once.

If you have a chance to be at the con, don't miss these!

June 29, 2013: If You Universes Don't Quit Poking Each Other, I'm Turning This Cosmos Around Right Now

Cosmologists think they've found evidence of "bruises" where our universe bumped up against other universes early in our history. Here's the story.

June 30, 2013: See You In July!

Is June over already? Guess it's time for all of us here at SJ Games to head off for our annual summer break.

That means the office will be dark and empty next week. So hold your calls, hold your emails, and hold off on your visit to come see the FNORD.

Don't hold your orders to Warehouse 23 though. There's a treat for all our friends while we're away. We've got t-shirts, comics and more on sale at 25-50% off.

July 2, 2013: Harnessing The True Power Of The Atom

Scientists at IBM have created the World's Smallest Movie using a 2-ton tunneling electron microscope and one of the most advanced labs on the planet.

The stop-motion film, A Boy and His Atom, uses animated still photographs of actual atoms to create a short cartoon. You can watch it – and get the rest of the story about it! – at the IBM News Room , or go see it where I found it at Topless Robot (theirs has a Star Trek logo made of atoms).

You've really got to watch it to believe it. You know what? I watched and I still don't believe it.

Warehouse 23 News: Different Places To Go. More Things To Kill.

Start building, blow it up, make defensive positions and send in the cannon fodder!

Ogre: Battlefields is a set of four "geomorphic" maps designed to connect to the G.E.V. and Shockwave maps . . . making it possible to create maps over 2' by 3'!

You get rules and counters for Engineers, Revetments and Militia.

Also included are nine scenarios and variants to let you fight the Last War across these battlefields.

This is not a stand-alone game. You need the G.E.V. rules to play, and some scenarios assume you have Shockwave .
