Lucky 7
The lovely Erin Nicholas tagged me for Lucky 7 last week. You can see her Lucky 7 post here!
Here’s how it works:
Post seven lines from a current work by following these rules:
Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript (fiction or non-fiction)
Go to line 7
Post the next 7 lines or sentences on your blog as they are (no cheating, please!)
Tag 7 other authors to do the same
Here’s mine. It’s from my latest wip, The Heat Is On.
The towel lay askew, her body partially bared. His hand cupped her exposed breast and tweaked the tight nipple. She moaned as he continued to torture her senses with pleasure. He kissed, licked and nipped at her throat. Pressed and rubbed his leg on her slit. Tugged and twisted her nipple with his fingers. Heat swirled in her lower belly, her muscles tightening with each rub, each lick, each press. Her release was so close. It built and built until she perched right on the edge.
And then he let her go and stepped back.
Now who to tag, who to tag…..

Six Sentence Sunday – Bondi Beach Boys Pt2 – #sixsunday
Another week, another six.
Following straight on from last week…
Bronze hair and skin sparkled under the hot sun. Long, tanned limbs rippled with muscle as the sun god they were attached to reached up and removed the surfboard from the roof rack of the sporty, black sedan. She licked her lips. Tingling with the urge to run her tongue over every inch of the bare torso, Piper’s mouth had gone bone dry, the ice cube long since melted away. Her gaze skipped further to the right to find the second most glorious sight in the world.
His sleek muscles were dusted with dark hair, and the smooth skin holding it all together had to be what people referred to as a Mediterranean complexion.

Snippet Saturday – I want you to want me
Wooing, courting, romancing, it’s all in the execution.
It being lunchtime, they had to wait a good five minutes for an elevator to arrive to take them to ground level. Squished into the packed compartment, Claire found herself jammed between Ryan’s hard body and the wall. She sucked in a breath when a hand grabbed her ass just before Ryan whispered in her ear.
“Shame your skirt isn’t shorter. I could slide my hand beneath it and cop a real feel.”
Claire gulped back the moan in her throat. The hard length of Ryan’s cock pressed into her hip as he moved closer. Her nipples puckered, and her pussy pulsed with the need to be filled. When the lift reached the ground floor, she breathed a sigh of relief. The control she had over her libido was too thin. One more word or move from Ryan and it would snap. The thought of ravishing him in public brought equal fear and excitement.
Ryan wrapped his hand around hers and pulled her across the foyer out into the steamy hot day. The street was no less crowded than the elevator, but he skillfully negotiated around the pedestrians while towing Claire behind.
“Just where are we going?” She raised her voice to be heard over the traffic and people filling the city street.
“You’ll see soon enough.”
Claire rolled her eyes and followed. Thankfully she’d worn flat shoes today instead of heels. They walked a couple of blocks before she began to suspect where Ryan was leading them. Hyde Park stood on the other side of the busy intersection they now waited at. Cars, buses, and trucks streamed passed. Horns honked and brakes squealed as someone cut in. It was always bumper-to-bumper traffic no matter what time of day it was in Sydney. This was one part of working in the city that she hated.
The lights changed and en masse, the press of bodies stepped off the curb. All went smoothly until they hit the middle of the road, and the wall of human flesh
coming from the opposite side of the street. They bumped and jostled their way through the crush. Ryan pulled her to his side and protected her as he barged ahead. He tugged Claire’s hand and maneuvered them safely to the footpath.
“This way. There won’t be as many people away from the station entrance.”
They found more space away from the entry to the underground railway and could easily have walked side by side, but Ryan continued to lead the way. His strides ate up the distance and made Claire quicken her steps to keep up. The hot air cooled slightly as they entered the park. The trees gave some shelter from the sun, but it was still a good 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the shade. Sweat coated her skin, and areas on the back of Ryan’s shirt were damp and sticking to the muscles rippling as he walked.
Ryan slowed as they neared the fountain, but instead of heading for one of the many benches surrounding it, he took them onto a grassed area behind a row of waist-high bushes. Large trees blocked the noonday sun and lent the space a cool feel even if the temperature wasn’t any lower. He picked a spot off to the side. Surprise filled her when he dropped his backpack and crouched to remove a picnic rug. With a flick of his wrists he spread the blanket out and motioned for her to sit.
Claire couldn’t help the smile that curled her lips, or the bubble of joy expanding in her chest at the fact that Ryan would go to all this trouble, but the blanket was nothing compared to what came next. From the bag he removed container after container of food. Carefully he placed them in the center of the makeshift table. As he began removing lids, Claire’s mouth watered and her stomach growled.
What lay before them was a feast. Sliced ham and cheese. Crusty bread. A selection of fresh fruit sliced ready to eat. Glass bottles of orange juice finished off the meal. The man outdid himself every time he fed her. They said the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach, and if she didn’t know better she’d think Ryan had used that in reverse. But she did know better. He was a genuinely nice guy who enjoyed looking after her.
It wasn’t just in the meals Ryan cooked her. It was all the little things she’d taken for granted—opening the car door, picking up her favorite chocolate when he got
petrol, checking if she wanted a drink whenever he got one. The way he would lift her feet into his lap and rub them after a long day at work, and the way he pitched in with things around her house or his. Without doing anything more than being himself, Ryan had crawled his way into her heart, and no matter the age difference or her fear he’d get tired of her soon, Claire had done the unthinkable.
She’d fallen in love with Ryan Doherty.

Six Sentence Sunday – Bondi Beach Boys Pt1 – #sixsunday
It’s that time of the week again. As this week has been a little cold in the land down under I thought I’d heat things up a bit.
But Pip came for the men.
There were all kinds. Young, old, skinny and fat, some in Speedos with bronzed bodies worth drooling over; they were all there. Though none of those were the attraction for her. Two men in particular drew her gaze day after day, week after week. With her sunglasses shielding her eyes, she turned a little to the right and looked her fill.

Snippet Saturday – Kung Fu Fighting!
Gotta love a hero who’s ready to put his life on the line. And a heroine who stands right beside him.
Her lungs burned with each choppy breath. Her legs screamed in pain and the stitch in her side threatened to double her over but she kept running. Every second counted. The house was in sight now, so close, just across the clearing. Pounding feet and paws echoed behind her and she fought the urge to turn around. She couldn’t waste the time. Getting to the house and Brogan could be their only hope.
Flesh and bone collided behind her. Rowan glanced over her shoulder and stumbled at the vision of human and animals rolling in the snow. The blows, grunts and snarls a strange musical note on the air. A yowl of pain and her insides went cold.
“Quinn!”
Forced to turn away and continue went against everything her coyote wanted to do. Her mate was in trouble and she needed to help him. But her human side knew the best way to do that was get to the house. Get Brogan and a gun. Her legs pumped harder, her chest ached and her eyes filled with tears she refused to let free.
Brogan came through the door, rifle in hand, he raced to meet her. He grabbed her arm, shoved her behind his back and braced the gun on his shoulder. The loud boom ricocheted around them. Aimed into the air, the shot was meant as a warning but it did no good. Three bodies, one human, two coyote, continued to wrestle. Brogan fired again.
Nothing happened. Among the rustling and tearing of cloth Rowan could hear the groans and yelps of pain as teeth and fists found their mark. Firing over their heads wouldn’t do it, these animals were in a frenzy and they wouldn’t stop unless someone or something stopped them. She yanked the weapon from Brogan’s hands. Before he could turn around and stop her, she lined up the sight and fired. No thought. No breath.
One shot.
Her aim was true and the bullet went dead center between the eyes of one coyote. He fell to the ground, pushed aside by the still fighting bodies. The second shot was harder. With only the two of them, the risk of hitting Quinn grew higher. Brogan stood beside her, his steady calm presence gave her the composed nerves to pull the trigger. This time her line was accurate but a twist of torsos as she squeezed her finger sent the slug into the coyote’s shoulder and not the back of his head.
Yelping, he backed away from Quinn. The animal’s head thrashed from side to side and he limped toward the tree line. Brogan stripped off his clothes, but the coyote sensed danger and bolted into the forest. Rowan sped across the distance to Quinn. He’d rolled to the side but didn’t move to get up and she feared they’d been too late. She dropped to her knees and put the rifle within easy reach. The blur of fur and legs sailed past them. Brogan was on the hunt.
Quinn moaned and Rowan breathed a sigh of relief. His clothes were torn, the legs and arms suffering the worst damage. Blood from numerous scratches soaked the fabric but the amount wasn’t life threatening. Gently she examined him for broken bones. Nothing stood out but he’d need an x-ray to determine if his ribs were cracked. His groan when she pressed on his side indicated they were at least bruised.
“I’m okay.”
Rowan’s heart skipped and a sigh of relief slipped from her throat. “Dammit, Quinn, you scared the life out of me.” She stopped herself from hugging him for fear of hurting him.
“Just need to catch my breath.”
Gasps of pain accompanied every shift of position. His injuries made his progress to sit slow and awkward. Rowan grabbed his shoulder to steady him when he swayed. As soon as he seemed stable she let go but didn’t move away to check the coyote. She didn’t need to, death would have been instantaneous.
“Nice shooting.” Quinn tipped his head in the direction of the carcass.
“Not good enough to get two.”
“You got him and I sliced through his neck before you fired. I doubt he’ll get far.”
“Even if he gets far, Brogan will catch him.”
“Help me up.”
“Do you think you should move yet?”
“Rowan, if I don’t get my ass off this snow the damn thing will be frozen solid and any scratches I have will be the least of my worries.”
“Oh.”
She wrapped an arm around his waist and together they stumbled to their feet. Steady, Quinn pulled away and began to walk to the house. Rowan stayed close but his steps were measured and sure. When they got to Brogan’s clothing she realized she’d left the rifle with the dead coyote.
“Damn. Wait here.” She jogged back but before she picked up the gun Rowan checked to make sure the coyote was dead. There were no familiar markings on the animal and she didn’t recognize his scent, but then, she’d been away so long he could be a newcomer to the pack.
“He’s not one of ours.”
