Losing One’s First Kiss

YA author, Bria Quinlan, is doing a feature on her blog this month about kisses and graciously invited me to join. I’m over there today with a little chat about kissing in Chinese culture. I didn’t realize that Chinese women often referred to “Losing their first kiss”. Click on over for a PG-13 discussion about [...]

Kickstarter: Love Between the Covers documentary

I’m so excited about this! I remember meeting Laurie Kahn and hearing her describe this project and being amazed at how BIG it was. From the look of this trailer, she’s really kicked it off in full force and I would be heartbroken not to see the rest of that film. It already takes a [...]

Letters of Note: Sell Your Heart

And sometimes the letters are inspirational, such as today’s letter from [...]

So You Think You Can Write & Genre-switching

This is another one of those mish-mash posts where my mind wanders to a couple of different things, but I hope in the end has some coherent point. First of all, Harlequin’s SYTYCW contest is going global. It kicks off this September and if you’ve wanted to write for Harlequin, here’s a chance for you [...]

Weekend booksigning at Rose’s

I had a fun afternoon at Rose’s Bookhouse signing books with historical romance author Charlotte Hubbard/Naomi King and urban fantasy author Kasey Mackenzie. I’m ashamed to say I have more pictures of the bookstore kitty than anything else. I also had a chance to pick up some new board books for the twinsies!

Upcoming events & odds and ends

I’m feeling happy this morning and am having Scottish tea with milk and homemade blueberry scones. I was inspired, by all things, by Elizabeth Hoyt’s Thief of Shadows. I just finished the book and I have two thoughts 1) Dude, the hero is a masked avenger who leaps about the rooftops of the slums and [...]
