More on the NRA's Harry Reid Endorsement

I'm getting a lot of emails from people saying the NRA has not endorsed Harry Reid in Nevada.

As I said in the original post: no, the NRA has not endorsed Harry Reid. But they are planning to unless we bring pressure to bear on them.

But here's the other thing: Sharron Angle has been a true patriot on 2nd Amendment issues in the Nevada legislature and Harry Reid both voted for every anti-gun nominee Obama has put up and voted for the Brady Bill, the assault weapons ban, etc.

The NRA's fallback ...

Have you donated to Pamela Gorman yet?

I met with Pamela in Arizona shortly after she'd been to the desert shooting. She and her son are both great shots. And she has a great shot at getting to Congress if we are willing to step up and help her.

Give what you can.

Jane Norton Wants a Pro-Abortion, Tax and Spend Senator as a Mentor

Jane Norton gave the Colorado Statesman a very eye opening interview.

First, she walked back some of the attacks her campaign has been making on Ken Buck.

Second, she again couldn't remember key details to questions and had to rely on Cinamon, though not by name this time.

Third, when asked who she wanted as a mentor in the United States Senate, Jane Norton said she wanted a pro-abortion, tax and spend Senator who doesn't want us to try to repeal Obamacare as her mentor.

That's right — Jane...

RedState Gathering 2010

Click here to register for the RedState Gathering.

I haven't put up a post recently about the Gathering, but I certainly hope you will attend.

September 17 to September 19, 2010 we'll be in Austin, TX rubbing in the noses of the hippies our support for Arizona.

That Friday night we're planning a pretty impressive surprise for both the attendees and a particular person who must remain nameless because well . . . the surprise is for him and for you guys too.

On Saturday, we're building in lots of t...

NRA Now Leans Toward Endorsing Harry Reid

image

Multiple sources tell me the National Rifle Association is planning to endorse liberal Harry Reid against pro-gun champion Sharron Angle.

Two weeks ago, I told you about the carveout the NRA received in exchange for their support for the DISCLOSE ACT deal.

Then this week, RedState broke the story of the "gag order" the NRA issued to members of its Board on the Kagan nomination.

Now, I'm getting credible reports that the NRA is leaning toward endorsing Harry Reid, even though the NRA is...

Eric Cantor and John Boehner's Premature Discharge Problem

Eric Cantor and John Boehner are out today spinning furiously that their discharge petition is better than Steve King's discharge petition.

Except there is a fundamental flaw: they have a premature discharge problem.

No, premature discharge is not a problem that can be cured with a pill.

In order to have a discharge petition, the legislation to be discharged — that is forced to the floor of the House of Representatives whether or not the Speaker wants it — must have been submitted for some time ...

Eric Cantor and John Boehner Don't Really Want to Repeal Obamacare

Well, it is official.

Eric Cantor and John Boehner — particularly Eric Cantor — have decided they don't need or want conservatives and, more troubling, do not have any intention of trying to win at the polls by forcing Democrat hands on Obamacare.

Our leadership is behaving badly.

Last week and on Monday I mentioned Rep. Steve King's effort to repeal Obamacare and start over. He's filed a discharge petition. If he gets 218 signatures, Nancy Pelosi must hold a vote.

At the time, I was hearing...

Chuck Efstration: A Personal Favor

One of the toughest things about my job is that it is very hard to make and keep friends in the political arena. Not that I intended to, but I have become known as the guy who keeps our side in line.

With that, I have arrived at the age where friends of mine decide to run for political office and want my endorsement. It is a very rare thing to get. Most of my friends running for office don't rise to the level of a RedState caliber candidate.

So I'm really glad to finally have one who does. ...
