Barack Obama Will Recess Appoint Donald Berwick

While Congress is on recess, Barack Obama will appoint Donald Berwick to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or "CMS".

Presidents tend to appoint controversial nominees with recess appointments because they otherwise can't get the votes. Barack Obama has appointed a number of extremely controversial people via recess appointment when he otherwise hasn't had the opportunity to name them czars — positions that don't need congressional approval.

Jane Norton: AARP Lobbyist During Hillarycare Fight

Recently Jane Norton gave an interview to the Colorado Statesman. There is this curious exchange in it:

CS: Did you used to work for AARP?

JN: I did, I did.


CS: What did you do for them?

JN: I was — gosh, what was my title? Oh, that was so long ago. I'm sorry, can I get back with you on that? I can't even remember what it was.


CS: I don't think it's on your bio. Is there any reason for that?

JN: No, no.

Curious, ain't it. She doesn't remember and it is not in her bio.

Michael Steele Must Resign

I have heard Michael Steele's comments regarding Afghanistan and the President.


I have read the RNC's statement on the matter.


The RNC statement is indecipherable in the context of what Michael Steele actually said.


The war in Afghanistan is not a war of Barack Obama's choosing. It is a war of Al Qaeda and the Taliban's choosing. We responded.


Michael Steele must resign. He has lost all moral authority to lead the GOP.

Attention Members of Congress

The effort to repeal Obamacare continues to gain steam. The King discharge petition, backed by Heritage Action, now has 94 Members on board. But it is still a wonder why it is taking so long for the other Members–both Republican and the Democrats who claim to oppose Obamacare–to sign? Every time these Members vote, they have an opportunity to go and sign on the dotted line. So why the delay?

After reading your post, I wasted 30 minutes waiting on hold to talk to a human at NRA.
