This is What Karma Looks Like: Alvin Greene Cleared

After Alvin Greene won the South Carolina Democrats' Senate nomination, House Democrat Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) immediately declared Alvin Green a "Republican plant".

There was just no way in Clyburn's mind that Greene could have come up with the $10,440.00 qualifying fee on his own. Well, you know what? The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has concluded its investigation into Greene.

Turns out Greene saved up his own money to pay the qualifying fee.

Now, if this isn't karma...

Rick Barber for Congress

One of my big, big regrets this campaign season is that I have not been able to get over to Alabama to do an event with Rick Barber. He has asked and I very much wanted to, but my schedule has made it impossible.

But I want to help and I want you to help. Rick Barber is going to be one heck of an outstanding congressman and his opponent, Martha Roby, is unimpressive. She is typical of what we like to call the country club Republicans, but more accurately the status quo Republicans. She'll ...

Byrne For Alabama

Alabama voters head to the polls on Tuesday and I haven't had as much to say about this race as I should.

I'm supporting Bradley Byrne. Unions in Alabama are doing everything in their power to stop him — spending millions on him.

His opponent, Robert Bentley, regularly sided with the Alabama teachers union to stop school reform in Alabama. People always make jokes about the smarts of people from Alabama largely because of how entrenched the school unions are and just how much damage they are ...

Republican Statists Reveal Themselves

Hogan mentioned Bob Bennett's comments earlier. Bennett thought it beneath him and outside conservatism to think the constitution may limit him, a senator, from legislating.

Well, over in South Carolina, Daniel Foster points out another example, defeated Republican Bob Inglis.

Inglis, defeated in a Republican primary by tea party activists, has shared what he really thinks of conservatives — they are racist, bigotted, and easily led by villains like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.

The soon to be...

Nice Guys Finishing

You and I both know the saying — nice guys finish last. It is unfortunate, but many of the best people, the people we would want in office, are the people least likely to run for office. And when they do step up to run, because they aren't in the established fray of politicians, they are typically treated as quixotic candidates.

Some of them are. Some of them aren't. One guy who is a nice guy and probably the most qualified person to ever run for Attorney General in Georgia in the past...

To the People of Kansas

Dear People of Kansas,

You are about to have your primary and a lot of you are emailing me asking who you should vote for in the United States Senate race.

Frankly, when it comes to pork, Todd Tiahrt and Jerry Moran are nothing to write home about. They are both porkers.

So that issue, for both, cancels each other out.

But then you have all the other issues out there from taxes to national security to life to you name it. Those issues separate the two candidates and I come down on the side of T...

Despite Jane Norton's Pre-Emptive Spin, Ken Buck Leads in Money and Polling

Wow.

Poor Jane Norton. How the mighty fall. I guess when you hire Josh Penry to do nothing but beat up Ken Buck and deny you're the lobbyist you once claimed to be, you have trouble selling yourself.

Norton, the former Lt. Governor of Colorado, beat Ken Buck in money raised last quarter, but that's all. And she got those numbers out there early banking on reporters being too lazy to actually dig into the numbers.

Those who have dug into the numbers have found some startling news:

Ken Buck...

The Prop 187 Myth

Of all the issues in which inside the beltway groupthink cloud good judgment, none is more obvious than the tales of immigration and the decline of the GOP.

The issue is best summed up by the strategic thinkers inside both the Democrat and Republican Parties who say that opposition to "comprehensive" immigration reform will somehow doom the GOP to permanent minority status.

They all take it a step further and say, "Look what happened to the California GOP with Prop. 187." Back in the...

Democrats Want to Tax Your ATM Withdrawals

You remember Lanny Davis, right? He's the nice guy you sometimes get confused with Leon Panetta because they both worked for Clinton and their names both start with "L".

But when Davis speaks and floats ideas, it is more than just your run of the mill Washington personality floating an idea. When Lanny Davis drops an op-ed, there tends to be more to it. So we should take note that he's got Democrats signing onto a plan to tax your ATM withdrawals.

Why, you ask? Well, to pay down the...
