I'm an introvert by nature, so how I ended up being a writer whose success is measured in the public arena, I'm not quite sure.
Maybe it has something to do with being born and raised in Kentucky, but moving north as an adult where life is a daily struggle of trying to convince my neighbors that grits and cornbread don't need sugar but iced tea does, moonshine can be enjoyed by women without any fear of growing chest hair, and the word smile has only one syllable.
Or maybe it's because I have to write the voices down to shut them up, and once they're written down I might as well share them.
Or maybe it even has something to do with reaching out to people through my writing because I might be able to touch them in some way.

A plane was in low in the sky in front of us. All of a sudden, it vanished! We looked at each other wide-eyed.
My husband said, "Did you just see that?"
"That airplane disappeared," I answered and he nodded.
We've never found an explanation, but I think a UFO sighting would be a great kick-off for a plot.

I've been an Outlander-obsessed fan for at least twenty years, devouring each of Diana Gabaldon's books as soon as they're released. Claire and Jamie captivated my imagination from their first scene together. Their amazing love story that spans decades (and yeah, even centuries) covers all the bases from hot love scenes to heart-breaking separations and keeps me coming back for more ... and more ... and more ... WINNER!

I'm excited to announce that my romantic women's fiction novel GAINING VISIBILITY won the National Readers' Choice Award and was chosen as a Book Club Pick by Country Woman Magazine!

It thrills me to know that the book is resonating with so many readers. Who knew that so many of us over 45 feel invisible to the world?
