LAST DAY
For the TUF VOYAGING sale, as below:
I am drowning in books here. Even with three houses (one with a library tower) and two storage lockers, I've run out of places to put all the various copies of all the various editions of all my various titles that have accumulated over the years... and new ones are arriving all the time, demanding shelf space. So for the next couple of months I am going to continue to offer some specials on many of my older books, to make room for the new ones.
This week it is TUF VOYAGING.
I have stocks (dwindling stocks) of the Haviland Tuf collection in both of the Meisha Merlin hardcover editions: the trade hardcover and the signed, numbered, limited edition in slipcase. Collectors should note: neither of these is a first edition. TUF VOYAGING was originally published back in 1985 by Baen Books, and that hardcover is the first. But the Meisha Merlin editions are much nicer than the Baen, for what it's worth. Published in 2003, both the trade hardcover and the limited feature a Michael Komarck cover, and some great interior illustrations by Janet Aulisio, THE definitive Tuf artist, who illustrated many of the Tuf stories when they were first published in ANALOG. Eight of Janet's original ANALOG interiors are reprinted herein, along with 28 new drawings commissioned specially for this volume.
The deluxe edition was limited to 52 lettered and 448 numbered copies. The lettered copies were sold out on publication; these are numbered copies that I'm offering. Janet Aulisio's ANALOG cover painting for "Manna from Heaven" is also included, as a full color frontiespiece exclusive to the limited. The book comes in a handsome slipcase, and includes autographs from both artists, Komarck and Aulisio, as well as yours truly. And of course I'll be glad to add a personal inscription upon request.
The trade edition does not have the frontiespiece, the artists' signatures, or the slipcase, but is otherwise pretty much the same book. And of course I'd be willing to sign that too.
On my website, the limited editions have been selling for $140, the trade for $29.
For ONE WEEK only we are reducing the prices to $99 for the limited, and $22 for the trade.
The special prices include book rate/ media mail shipping within the US. Order via PayPal to direwolf@georgerrmartin.com.
Priority mail and overseas shipping will be extra; inquire of my assistant Ty at grrmbooks@gmail.com for a quote on that. (Depends on where you live).

Sorry, Brazil
I was supposed to make an appearance yesterday at a fan festival in Brazil, taking questions from my Brazilian readers via the wonders of the internet.
Well, I did appear, kinda sorta:
Unfortunately, the internet proved less wonderous than promised. We were using Skype, and while everything was working fine on my end, down in Brazil the sound kept cutting in and out. I did get to say hello and field two questions, but I am not sure how much of my answers was actually heard. Every few seconds the proceedings would be halted yet again while they switched to a new computer, tried a new setting, fiddled with some knobs, or whatever.
We finally had to give up, defeated by technology.
Sorry, Brazil. One of these days I will have to try and make it down there in person.
I am sure Vince Gerardis filled in admirably in my electronic abscence. None of this GAME OF THRONES stuff would be happening if not for him.
