Natania Barron is a writer with a penchant for the speculative; she is also an unrepentant geek. Her work has appeared in Weird Tales, EscapePod, The Gatehouse Gazette, Thaumatrope, Bull Spec, Crossed Genres, Steampunk Tales, Faerie Magazine, and in a number of anthologies. Her work often incorporates Victorian aesthetics with magic and science fiction, treading between genres whenever possible. Her first novel, Pilgrim of the Sky, debuted in 2011.

She has since published a music fiction novel (ROCK REVIVAL), a trilogy of novellas set in early 20th century high society with monster heroines (THESE MARVELOUS BEASTS), and her Arthurian retelling QUEEN OF NONE is set to release December 2020.

Natania is also the founder of The Outer Alliance, a

I decided to take things down a little notch and go with THE NAME OF THE WIND for some good, old-fashioned fantasy for a bit. I'm also finishing up SILVER ON THE ROAD by Laura Anne Gilman and that's highly recommended. (less)

Or when I'm anxious or personal life is getting in the way. But I'm always thinking about writing or plotting out some new aspect. I think I might suffer occasionally from analysis paralysis in figuring out which project to tackle next! Keeping a list of ideas, and Pinterest boards up to date, that's generally my secret.(less)

Fumbling Towards Camelot – My Arthurian Stories Find a New Home With Solaris Books

Who can say when a story really starts? Out of the mire of post-Roman Britain, the Arthurian Tales rose to prominence across much of Europe: a motley patchwork of stories, characters, and adventures that remain with us today. It is, I suppose, a great, collaborative tapestry, with new authors adding to the scenes for almost 1500 years.

Like many young writers, and especially those of the medieval i

Madeleine L'Engle
“Because it is the nature of love to create, a marriage itself is something which has to be created, so that, together we become a new creature.

To marry is the biggest risk in human relations that a person can take…If we commit ourselves to one person for life this is not, as many people think, a rejection of freedom; rather it demands the courage to move into all the risks of freedom, and the risk of love which is permanent; into that love which is not possession, but participation…It takes a lifetime to learn another person…When love is not possession, but participation, then it is part of that co-creation which is our human calling, and which implies such risk that it is often rejected.”
Madeleine L'Engle, The Irrational Season
