Her work has appeared in Weird Tales, EscapePod, The Gatehouse Gazette, Thaumatrope, Bull Spec, Crossed Genres, Steampunk Tales, Faerie Magazine, and in a number of anthologies. Her work often incorporates Victorian aesthetics with magic and science fiction, treading between genres whenever possible. Her first novel, Pilgrim of the Sky, debuted in 2011.

Her novella, Wothwood, published in February 2017, and Frost & Filigree published June 2017. Her first non-genre book, ROCK REVIVAL released in July of 2018. 2019 will see the second two volumes in the Frost & Filigree trilogy.

I decided to take things down a little notch and go with THE NAME OF THE WIND for some good, old-fashioned fantasy for a bit. I'm also finishing up SILVER ON THE ROAD by Laura Anne Gilman and that's highly recommended. (less)

Or when I'm anxious or personal life is getting in the way. But I'm always thinking about writing or plotting out some new aspect. I think I might suffer occasionally from analysis paralysis in figuring out which project to tackle next! Keeping a list of ideas, and Pinterest boards up to date, that's generally my secret.(less)

The Big House on King Street: Memories of a Haunted Home

I was that very strange and pivotal age of eleven when my parents moved from the Berkshires to the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts. It was not a happy move. Our family had gone bankrupt, the home-grown real estate business my parents owned went belly-up, and with my father’s progressively more complicated rare disease wracking up bills upon bills, we made the decision to move closer to family a...

Madeleine L'Engle
“Because it is the nature of love to create, a marriage itself is something which has to be created, so that, together we become a new creature.

To marry is the biggest risk in human relations that a person can take…If we commit ourselves to one person for life this is not, as many people think, a rejection of freedom; rather it demands the courage to move into all the risks of freedom, and the risk of love which is permanent; into that love which is not possession, but participation…It takes a lifetime to learn another person…When love is not possession, but participation, then it is part of that co-creation which is our human calling, and which implies such risk that it is often rejected.”
