Notations: Majesty

eagle

The mountains stand sharp, edged in green. Storm clouds roil in a summer's sky. An eagle soars. I gaze, but cannot hold them thus.

Grace Notes: What Does it All Mean?

grace_notes

Whatever you do in life, let it come from the heart.

Are you snoring yet? Not that this piece of advice isn't valuable, but haven't we all heard it a thousand times? So many times, in fact, that our eyes glaze when someone trots it out. Let's tell the truth here. We're among friends.

Aren't you doing well to survive and maybe grab at a little joy on the weekends? Does anyone really know what it's all about anyway? And who has time for introspection?

Let me whisper this: If a fire burns within you to make a difference, to matter, to understand this mad dash between birth and death — you do. Take time to listen, to wonder, to understand. If you do nothing else in this life, make time to live from the heart. The rest will follow.

Live.

Notes to Self: Too Much Information

memo_pad

I've declared war. That's right. I'm not going to take it anymore.

It started with my finger on the "delete" key. Those emails ganging up on me are now history — at least until the next battle. With so many pinging me, no wonder I couldn't focus enough to figure out I would never be able to absorb them all. History.

Once-cherished emails fell by the wayside, made less important by tantalizing glimpses of freedom. Give me liberty! Funny thing, the more I deleted, the easier my finger grew on the trigger.

Note to self: Email is the tool, not me.

Quick Notes: How to Keep Track of Passwords

horses running in snowHow many passwords can you remember? If you're like me, not too many before you start getting twizzled. There's nothing more frustrating than forgetting your log in to a site just when you need it most. Depending on the site's security, retrieval may require you twist into a pretzel (figuritively speaking) or at the least engage in a bout of interpretive dance.  Okay, I'm exaggerating. Sort of.

Falling back on just a few passwords you'll remember makes it easier for you  — and for hackers. What to do? Here's Mashable on the subject:

Time and time again, we're warned of the importance of having strong, secure online passwords. Phishing scams — where legitimate looking e-mails and websites try to trick you into entering in your sensitive login information to a bank site, e-mail host or social network — are bad enough when a scammer is able to compromise your account, but the result can be many times worse if you use that same password for a number of online accounts.

Fortunately, solutions are available. Follow this link to read the full post:  5 Tricks for Keeping Track of Your Passwords.

Notations: A Question

Doe

A few bean plants lost their leaves in the night. A trail of dainty hoofprints led across the garden. Who, then, is the thief?
