Day 4 ~ Book Meme
Hmmm. I don't know if I remember the books well enough to choose the favorite book of my favorite series. I know I liked the one book that gave me the backstory on how everyone met and how Senna got something on everyone to get them to help her when she gets kidnapped.
Official blurb:
Finally, the answers to all the mysteries start to fall into place in the last volume of K.A. Applegate1s best-selling young adult series. David, April, Christopher, and Jalil will now learn the truth.

Book Signing!!! The Saga continues....
We almost sold out of our books! 15 out of 20 copies of Night Gypsy were sold last night. As well as several copies of The Jackets and one copy of Nina. :D
WOOOOHOOOO!!
And as promised here are some pictures that my mom took of me and Ellie during our book signing. There was another picture of Ellie but her eyes are closed. :/ Don't know if she would want me to post that. LOL
An action shot!
Me and my dear friend Ellie Woodruff (who is also an author in the anthology Night Gypsy). We've known each other for a long time. Lost touch for a long time but hopefully we'll stay in touch from now on. Everything happens for a reason. :)
(Left to right) My best friend
ladytairngire, me, Ellie and our friend Leanne.
Me and Lady T. I think this is one of my favorite pictures. <3
We had so many friends and family come out yesterday and showed their support for Ellie and I. Seriously, they came out in droves! It was so much fun and incredibly exciting. It's one of the things I love about writing and books in general. It brings people together. :D Can't wait to have another book signing already! :D :D :D :D :D :D
If you are interested in purchasing a signed copy of Night Gypsy, The Jackets or Nina please email me at lizdejesus23 (a) yahoo (dot) com.
$15 for each book S & H included.
Day 3 ~ Book Meme
That would have to be EverWorld by K.A Applegate.
I must've reread that series 3-4 times. I have to be really careful with each book from now on because they are currently out of print. And I won't lend them to anyone. I did have the pleasure of reccommending them to death when I worked at Borders. LOL. It's a great YA book. Lots of mixtures with Norse and Greek Mythology.
Official blurb:
David's life was pretty normal. School. Friends. Girlfriend. Actually, Senna was probably the oddest aspect of his life. She was beautiful. Smart. But there was something very different about her. Something strange.
And on the day it began, everything happened so quickly. One moment, Senna was with him. The next, she was swallowed up the earth. Her screams echoing from far, far away. David couldn't just let her go. Neither could the others. His friends- and hers. So, they followed. And found themselves in a world they could have never imagined.
Now they have to find Senna and get home without losing their lives. Or their minds. Or both...

Day 2 ~ Book Meme
Kissing the Witch by Emma Donoghue.
This is an amazing collection of short stories. This is one of the first books I bought for myself when I first came to Delaware in 1999. I still remember the first time I walked into Borders. My father had told me all about this book store (he came to DE first and then the family moved 6 months later) and I didn't believe him. I thought he was making this place up just to make me feel better about moving to a strange new place. But it was very real. I couldn't believe all the books I saw! And they were all in one place! I was within driving distance of a bookstore. When I lived in P.R we had to drive for an hour and a half (sometimes two) in order to get to a decent bookstore. And that place was tiny. About the size of my living room...maybe even smaller. So yeah, Borders and me? Love at first sight. :) Just in case you're wondering...yes, I still have this book. I'm pretty sure it's one of my treasures along with a few other things in the house.
Anyway here's the official blurb for Kissing the Witch:
Thirteen tales are unspun from the deeply familiar, and woven anew into a collection of fairy tales that wind back through time. Acclaimed Irish author Emma Donoghue reveals heroines young and old in unexpected alliances--sometimes treacherous, sometimes erotic, but always courageous. Told with luminous voices that shimmer with sensuality and truth, these age-old characters shed their antiquated cloaks to travel a seductive new landscape, radiantly transformed. Cinderella forsakes the handsome prince and runs off with the fairy godmother; Beauty discovers the Beast behind the mask is not so very different from the face she sees in the mirror; Snow White is awakened from slumber by the bittersweet fruit of an unnamed desire. Acclaimed writer Emma Donoghue spins new tales out of old in a magical web of thirteen interconnected stories about power and transformation and choosing one's own path in the world. In these fairy tales, women young and old tell their own stories of love and hate, honor and revenge, passion and deception. Using the intricate patterns and oral rhythms of traditional fairy tales, Emma Donoghue wraps age-old characters in a dazzling new skin.

Hands down. Cinder by Marissa Meyer.
I've read this book twice already and I'm halfway done the third time around. And every single time I read it I discover something new about the characters, the plot and other bits of description that I missed because I was in such a hurry to find out how the book ends. :)
Great book. The sequel is coming out in February just in time for my birthday!! YEY!!!!!
