Only One Way Leads to Life
John 7:24 – “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
The Lord is a righteous judge, and we are made in His likeness. In the culture of tolerance and “being nice,” the body of Christ must remember in whose image we are made. We are a needed voice of righteous judgment that defines according to God’s word what is good and what is evil. It’s easy to judge and condemn a person according to their appearance. It takes the Holy Spirit to discern what got them where they are and call them out of it. Today, be the voice that stands up for truth and pronounce the verdict of righteousness over the lost and rebellious.
Declaration: I will not be silence by the noise around me. I will speak the truth of God in this dark day.
ONLY ONE WAY LEADS TO LIFETo many people, the truth is offensive. “But Pastor Troy, if Jesus was perfect and what He said was 100 percent truth, why did He offend so many people in the Bible and why do His words still offend people today?”
Simple: the problem was on the receiving end, not the giving end. Jesus is not the problem. You and I are the problem because our hearts reject truth when it’s not convenient or doesn’t benefit us. Look at the Pharisees who were offended that Jesus and the disciples weren’t following their man-made law of washing their hands before supper.
Then the disciples came to Him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” – Matthew 15:12
The disciples seem distressed, but they’re about to get their minds blown when Jesus replies:
“Every plant that My Heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into the pit.” – Matthew 15:13
BOOM! No remorse. No apologies. Let me tell you, calling the religious leaders “blind” and instructing people to “leave them” could have turned into an area of offense – a stumbling block for those listening because Jesus is supposed to be all nicey nice, right?
Wrong. Jesus isn’t about tickling ears and telling you what you want to hear. His Word is truth and truth divides right from wrong. Only one way leads to life.

What it means to “Stick with Jesus”
Luke 7:23 – And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.
Offense is a choice. It’s the enemy’s trap to divide and destroy. We all face that choice daily. Every time someone does not treat us with kindness or honor our wishes, we can choose love over offense. Why? Because Jesus did it! He shows a way to forgive those who offend and spitefully use us. He demonstrated the path of freedom from bitterness and hurt. He called us to a ministry of reconciliation. He wants to heal all the wounds from past offenses and fill you with love anew. Will you let Him?
Declaration: I repent of the stumbling block of offense. I choose love even those who don’t love me.
WHAT IT MEANS TO “STICK WITH JESUS”Have you ever stopped to think that the first message Jesus preached was on freedom?
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release to oppressed…” – Luke 4:18
He didn’t go to prison to preach that. He went to church. He went to the synagogue. What?!? I’m telling you, there is more bondage in religion than any other chain man can put on you.
“…because some false brothers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves.” – Galatians 2:4
That’s the agenda of religious folk – to make us slaves. The chains of a religious spirit tell you to conform, follow their rules, and keep in step with them as they put Jesus in a box and place heaven far, far away from the very people who need to know Jesus and get into His Kingdom. So, how do you keep from falling under the yoke of a religious spirit?
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” – Galatians 5:1
Brother Paul is saying you need to stand in a way that you are held fast, “Stand fast” as though your feet are nailed down to the floor of liberty. He’s saying to not let go of your liberty because you’re going to be tempted – often – to give it away. Let me tell you why you’ll be tempted to give it away: for free stuff – for the promise of something else.
You see it all around you today. People will give up what’s true for something dramatic. Do not give your freedom to the mob. Let your spirit, mind and heart get lined up with what God says – not with what a denomination or the Kardashians say. That’s what it means to stick with Jesus.

Acts Not Works
Luke 7:22 – Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.”
When you cry out to King Jesus, He always answers in the way you need to hear. He knows you, understands your thoughts and how you process information. Jesus is personal and kind. He gives you what you need in that moment; an answer that will make sense to you. When John the Baptizer questioned if Jesus was the Messiah or should they wait to another, Jesus answered by quoting the scripture He knew John would understand and remove all John’s doubt. Whenever doubt tries to cloud your mind, ask Jesus for His truth. He will answer you with clarity that might only make sense to you, but it will be clear!
Declaration: King Jesus knows me. He answers me with clarity and truth that sets me free.
ACTS NOT WORKSI say serving is power because serving is demonstrating Jesus. For a very long time, the American church was the center of society because it selflessly served people. Who do you think built all the hospitals, orphanages, libraries and great universities? Christians did that. We served society on every level.
I think one of the main reasons the Church has been so impotent in this country is because there’s been so little serving. The government stepped in and said, “We’ll take that responsibility,” and the Church rolled over and let it happen.
My friends, the American Church should have raised holy hell and said, “Jesus is the foundation of this land and the church ain’t giving up nothing!” But we didn’t and the government is now feeding, housing, educating, counseling, and caring for the people the Church has a mandate to reach for Jesus.
You want to see where the power of the Holy Spirit is? In serving. Show me a body that is serving and I’ll show you some Holy Spirit power.
The power of God is seen through serving and my friend, that’s a huge Kingdom principle. Don’t have enough power in your life? You need to serve people in a much more radical way.
This isn’t works. This is about acts. There is a difference between acts of faith and works toward trying to get saved. I’m not working to be saved, I’m already saved. Jesus did the work. I’m just acting upon the fact that I am saved. Acts of service give us power beyond our own salvation to bring others into salvation.
So, get up and serve! Act on the salvation you’ve been given and pass it on to someone who needs it. It will save them and bless you.
For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. – Hebrews 6:10

The Church Has Left the Building
Matthew 7:21 – “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Are you dressed for the great banquet? Matthew 22 tells of a king who prepares a wonderful wedding feast for his son and invites his friends to come celebrate. One of the guests was not dressed for the occasion and was thrown out of the celebration. He misses out because he showed up on his own terms. Jesus is inviting you to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Are you willing to leave behind your old clothes and put on the garments of righteousness that have been provided to you by the King himself. The clothes of this world stink like hell–filthy with prideful attitudes, hurt, and shame. God garments exude the fragrance of joy, peace, and righteousness. Conform your life to the image of His plan for you.
Declaration: I lay down my old ways, my pride and my yesterdays. I accept my new garments. I’m ready for the wedding feast. Come, Lord Jesus!
THE CHURCH HAS LEFT THE BUILDINGYou know I’m an outreach fanatic because we have to extend a hand outside of our comfort zone to bring Jesus to the lost and hurting. “But Pastor Troy, I invite people to church.”
My friend, I’m glad for that, but have you noticed Jesus preached at the synagogue a lot? As a matter of fact, it was the perfect place to reach the Jews because they were religious.
And he taught in their synagogue, being glorified by all. – Luke 4:15
Just like that, brother Paul went to Mars Hill in Acts 17. That was a place in Athens dedicated to the god Mars where there was a statue to an “unknown God.” What does that mean?
Well, the Greeks and the Romans were very religious. They worshipped hundreds of gods. Afraid they would be punished for forgetting one of these false deities, they covered their backsides by building a statue to the “unknown god.”
Little did they know, that unknown God was the only real God they worshipped.
Paul went to that place and introduced them to a very real God they had not known before. Aren’t you glad he didn’t demand all those heathens and idolaters come to church to hear about Jesus? He went into their ungodly culture and used something in their ungodly culture to point to Jesus.
I like how Paul does things. We need to go where the people are worshipping the gods of alcohol, drugs, porn, entertainment, anger, and self. We need to reach out to the hungry, homeless and hopeless and tell them about a God they’ve never known. He will meet them just as they are.
So reach out. Go where the people are and extend a helping hand in Jesus’ name. The Church has left the building.

Live as Free Men
Job 7:20 – Have I sinned? What have I done to You, O watcher of men? Why have You set me as Your target, so that I am a burden to myself?
Do you feel like you have a target on your back? The enemy just keeps throwing darts without giving you a break? Satan never plays fair. He punches while you’re down. But take courage, my friend! Even when you feel like you’re going down, King Jesus is bringing you up. He is growing your capacity to do greater things. He has not left you to the enemy. You are still in the Father’s caring hands. Don’t let enemy deceive you. You belong to Jesus.
Declaration: I’m forgiven and redeemed, fully accepted, and loved. I am not going down. I am being raised up.
LIVE AS FREE MENWhen we say we give away food at the OpenDoor Food Bank with no strings attached, guess what? That’s exactly what we do. We don’t tell people, “You need to believe in Jesus so say this prayer…” We don’t say, “You need to attend our Bible study or come to our church.” No, sir! We freely give.
I learned this from King Jesus Who freely gives to me. This is heaven’s agenda and heaven’s agenda is always about setting people free. Why is freedom such a big deal to an all-powerful God? Because people can’t run to Jesus if they’re not set free.
They can’t walk in victory and be an overcomer if they’re not set free. Confidence to run to God, and keep running to Him over and over again, comes from freedom.
“In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” – Ephesians 3:12
He wants you free so you can really and truly approach His throne. So you can walk with Him and be real with Him.
“I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.” – Psalm 119:45
You can’t walk with God unless you’re set free. Freedom is how we’re supposed to live.
“Live as free men…” – 1 Peter 2:16
The Good Lord gave us free will for a reason. It is a prerequisite to love. Without it, there is only control and God’s not about control. He gave you the ability to choose to love Him or not. He is confident you will make the right decision and extend that invitation to others in search of freedom.

Serve with Selfless Love
Micah 7:19 – He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
We all find ourselves in mess. Whether you created the mess, or it was left to you by someone else, there is good news: Jesus is not afraid of it. His love for you is so great, He himself steps into it to moves you out of it. Jesus was literally born to bless a mess. He is not intimidated, disgusted, or disinterested by the messy environment or ugly situations around you. He sees you and is compassionate to pull you out of the trash heap.
Declaration: I will not let the mess around me keep me from moving forward. Jesus blesses me and the mess. He will bring me victory.
SERVE WITH SELFLESS LOVEServing and selflessness are where the power of the love of God is – emphasis on the word “love.”
Through everything I have experienced while following Jesus, I have found the power of the Holy Spirit is demonstrated through serving because serving is demonstrating Jesus.
When Jesus put on the clothes of a slave and washed the feet of His disciples, He was serving. However, He was also demonstrating the Father’s heart and power was demonstrated through that selfless act.
Exactly like that, the power of the love of God is also demonstrated through selflessness. We know that God is love – literally love! Although there aren’t enough human words to do that justice, brother Paul penned it the best he could:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
So, the opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is selfishness. That’s why it’s the power of the love of God that is unleashed when we serve. We can serve all day long and if we don’t demonstrate the love of God, we’re like a clanging gong or a crashing cymbal – we’ve made a lot of hoopla yet we’ve accomplished nothing for the Kingdom (vs.1-3).
Rise above the noise and serve with selfless love. Demonstrate the love of the father. Do it today. Don’t wait.

Grow Into God
2 Samuel 7:18 – Then King David went in and sat before the Lord; and he said: “Who am I, O Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?”
The Lord gives us all paths to walk and mountains to climb. He already blessed those paths and given you the supernatural power and feet to get to the top. With every step you take, Jesus gets to rule in your life. It’s God’s glory to take you the mountain tops. He always leads you to the Rock who is higher and bigger than you are.
Declaration: I’m blessed. My life glorifies King Jesus and the Lord is advancing me higher each day.
GROW INTO GODif you still think the same way about God that you did twenty years ago, you have wasted the past twenty years. “But Pastor Troy, God loves me just like I am.”
He sure does, but He also loves you way too much to leave you that way. It’s like parents treating their grown children like babies. You don’t tie your 23-year-old son’s shoes, do you? No.
It’s actually a curse to be an adult and act like a child. It’s also a curse to be an adult and be treated like a child. God loves you, but He made you to grow and progress.
You should have a developmental part of your life where you’re finding out God does tons of stuff that you didn’t know He did. It’s called upgrade and you qualify for upgrade through personal relationship and revelation of Jesus.
With each new level of relationship, you should be experiencing Him in tons of different ways that it wasn’t safe for you to experience Him in before. It’s that deep calling unto deep thing. The deeper you get into your knowledge and connection with Him, the further in over your head He’ll call you.
Have you had any new revelations about God – how He works in your life or something you’ve seen in the experience of someone around you? If not, stop playing it safe. Put away childish things and grow into God.
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” – Hebrews 13:6

Relationship Like No Other
1 Corinthians 7:17 – But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches.
We all have different roles to fulfill for King Jesus and different battles to win. The Lord is asking you to bring your A-game to everything you do. No matter how small you think your part is, it’s huge to the Kingdom. The battles of others depend on you winning yours. Comparison will distract you from your own assignment by trying to be and do things you were never called to. You have no grace to accomplish what is not yours. Whatever situation you find yourself in today, don’t abandon your post. Rise and shine the light of Jesus in that circumstance.
Declaration: I’m crucial to the Kingdom of God. I will finish well what Jesus has entrusted to me.
RELATIONSHIP LIKE NO OTHERWhy is it important to become friends with Jesus? Because He shares His plans with friends.
From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. – John 15:15
If that were the only perk of being the friend of God, I’d say, “Sign me up!” But there’s more. He also fights battles for His friends. When Moses’ brother and sister didn’t like his new wife, God rebuked them and said, “Don’t you know he’s My friend?”
Being the friend of God is pretty cool and I’m telling you, you want to be God’s friend. However, the upgrade from friend is to become a son or daughter – to be called family.
As many as are led by the Spirit, these He has given power to become the sons of God. – Romans 8:14
Adam was the son of God, but Seth was the son of Adam – he wasn’t the son of God. Depending on whether or not you’re saved, there are sons of Adam and sons of God walking around in this world.
If you start moving in the relationship of family, you become a co-heir, or joint heir, with Jesus. In other words, Jesus is willing to share everything He has with you because He’s a Son and you’re a son.
Are you a friend or are you a son? Be both. Pursue the Lord and enjoy a relationship like no other.

Don’t Budge!
Matthew 7:16 – You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?
The Lord doesn’t call us to be successful in all things, but He does call us to be fruitful in all things. He doesn’t measure success the way the world does. You must be able to see your wins through the lens of the Kingdom. Kingdom measurements are big deal because if you only measure by the world’s standards, you will quit. Fruitfulness in the Kingdom is about growth and harvest. It is not about perfect performance. Can you see the wins in your life?
Declaration: I’m fruitful in the places the Lord brings me into. I trust the Lord with harvest in and through my life.
DON’T BUDGE!Sometimes, all you can do is stand. You stand with God not knowing how to advance. You can’t move forward and God’s certainly not going to let you turn tail and run.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God – Ephesians 6:14-17
That’s the full armor of God, but it doesn’t include any butt armor. Retreat is not an option. It’s forward or nothing. You can’t turn around because you’ll die.
You ever been in a place where you can’t move forward, but if you go back you’ll die? I’ve been there many times in different parts of my life and I can tell you what you do in that place. You stand.
What does it mean to stand? It literally means “to be righteous” or have “right standing.” Some deeper research will give you this little-known definition of righteousness: “one with legs.” Hallelujah.
This means when all hell is breaking loose and you have nowhere to go, you can stand in the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. God is Holy. God has His act together. God is good and I won’t budge on that. I won’t!
I will stand on that fact and I will stand on the truth that God is with me. I will not turn tail. I will not run. I may not be able to explain it or see His hand, but I can stand in that place and say, “God is good. He’ll never leave me or forsake me.” You can too.

Get Into Position
Amos 7:15 – Then the Lord took me as I followed the flock, and the Lord said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
Amos said, “I’m just a shepherd,” but God said, “You are a prophet.” The words, “I’m just” are not in God’s language. No matter how insignificant you feel, the devil is a liar. When you belong to Jesus and are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will prophesy to the lost and they will be found. You will heal the sick, raise the dead, rebuke storms and drive out demons. You are a bad motor scooter when you believe the word of the Lord.
Declaration: I have Holy Spirit power. I will do in this day what Jesus did and much more. He said it. I believe it.
GET INTO POSITIONFirst Love. In Revelation, when Jesus – the “One like a Son of Man” – writes to the Church in Ephesus saying it has stepped outside of first love, it means they had stepped outside of heaven’s deepest affection.
If you’re not aligned properly, you cannot fulfill your assignment for the Kingdom. Where is that alignment? Between the Father and the Son.
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” – John 15:9
Jesus wants you to find your positioning. He wants you to line yourself in that love. There’s no shame, no guilt and no condemnation.
Yes, you have grace, but the upgrade of grace is this: if you’re in-between the love of the Father and the Son, that grace empowers you to not sin.
Grace comes into your life to empower you and break you free. It knocks the chains off so you don’t have to keep falling into sin. Grace is literally power – dynamic power to overcome.
God hates to see His kids live a powerless life. He wants you to walk in authority, wisdom and power. So, get into position. Realize Jesus died to put you in the middle of His love toward the Father. When the Father looks at you, He sees Jesus. That’s first love.
