Who are you resurrecting from the dead?
FROM THE DEAD? 2 KINGS 13:20-21Elisha passed away, and they buried him. In the spring of the year, marauding bands from Moab invaded the land. While they were burying a man, they suddenly spotted raiders. They placed the man in Elisha’s tomb, and when the man’s body touched Elisha’s bones, he came back to life and stood on his feet.
Today, I challenge you. I understand that most of us do not wake up in the morning pondering whom we will resurrect, but isn’t it a worthy aspiration? Jesus proclaimed that we would perform even greater works than HIM! Today, I challenge your spirit. We often fall into the habit of thinking that we can abide by the status quo, forgetting that we are placed here to heal the sick and raise the dead. I am uncertain where you stand in your faith journey, but I assure you there is more!
Many years ago, a thought surfaced within me when I did not know the Lord well: “There must be more to God than this!” Friends there indeed is! Elisha serves as just one example of the Lord using us to accomplish remarkable feats. He will use you as well! I encourage you; your voice carries weight! The humility with which you conduct yourself holds significance! God will employ everything you offer Him and then some! He has selected you to bear the light He ignited within you years ago. He challenges you to forge a path where none seems to exist.
The potency of a double anointing is undeniably formidable, but the words of Jesus persist in my mind: “greater than this.” I want you to understand that God is greater—far more than you can ask or think.2 Kings 2:9“When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, ‘Ask! What may I do for you before I am taken away from you?’ Elisha said, ‘Please grant me a double portion of your spirit.’ So he said, ‘You have requested a difficult thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours; but if not, it will not be so.'”
Visualize yourself as Elisha did, endowed with a double portion, and embrace what it signifies to walk in the greater works until one day you awaken with the thought in your mind,
“Who are we resurrecting from the dead today, Jesus?”

Psalms 10:1: “Lord, why do you seem so distant when wickedness draws near? Why have you concealed yourself when I am in greatest need?”
David expressed it poignantly when he questioned, “Lord, why do you seem so distant?” Have you ever found yourself pondering why you can’t perceive the presence of God during challenging moments? The adversary may attempt to convince you that you are isolated and abandoned. Nevertheless, the Truth responds with, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” In times like these, it is imperative to lend a more attentive ear, stay attuned to the unchanging truth, and concentrate on what we know to be true. Speaking the truth in the face of adversity instills faith, reinforcing our belief that we can overcome all challenges through the strength of Christ. Perhaps the more pertinent inquiry is: What is the truth that I possess that can vanquish the adversary?Declaration: I declare the Truth sets me free from sin and death. The enemy must move out of my way! I will stand in the presence of the Lord all the days of my life! The Truth is my rod and my staff, and they comfort me!Faithfully
Psalms 101:1 (TPT)
Lord, I will sing about your faithful love for me. My song of praise will have your justice as its theme.”
I hear the word ‘Adoration.’ Adoration denotes ‘profound love and reverence’ or ‘worship.’ It is imperative to grasp this concept as we delve further into the forthcoming seasons and allocate moments for contemplation of His profound love for us.”
One day, I heard the following four words: “praise, worship, adoration & reverence.” I knew that these words were the key to Hope. Your adoration of the Father is transformative. It is alive and marks those who welcome it. Giving God your life takes a lot of adoration. Dying to yourself then becomes easy when all you lose is less than what you gain in return.
Our reflection of Jesus must conclude in His light. It is in these moments that the enemy becomes most afraid. When we are willing to trade our lives to reflect Jesus, the bowls become weighty, and the enemy loses his grip. We are no longer bound to the things of this world as we choose to hunger and thirst after the Lord.
Adoration is a choice. It is done faithfully. Your focus must be to stay sober-minded in the midst of what the Lord is telling you. It must be to inhabit Him, as He inhabits you. These are the times when this type of love and adoration will pierce the veil and open doors and windows for the congregation and beyond.
I’m hearing an old Stephen Curtis Chapman song called “Dive,” and the lyrics to the chorus go like this: “I’m diving in, I’m going deep, in over my head I wanna be. Caught in the rush, lost in the flow, in over my head I wanna go. The river’s deep, the river’s wide, the river’s water is alive. So sink or swim, I’m diving in.”
Remember to dive in and allow the waters of His love to restore and reset the truth inside you. Every time the enemy comes at you, determine in your heart to adore the Lord! Begin to sing and reflect the love you already own. The enemy will give up and walk away when he knows there is nothing in you that will fall for what he carries. Then he is truly defeated, and all you did was love the Lord!
The enemy is defeated when you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Adoration is a powerful tool. Matthew 22:37 (NKJV)
Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. ShareTweetForwardPinShare+1

His Heart in the Headlines
2 Kings 9:30 – Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window.
When the enemy cannot beat you with fear, it will try seduction. Jehu could not be intimidated, so Jezebel tried her feminine wiles. What calls to you? Money? Fame? Comfort? Whatever thing you crave most, the enemy will bring your way hoping you will stop. Don’t fall for it! When you crave the pure spiritual milk of The Word–Jesus Christ–the wiles of the devil will fall flat. Discernment is your weapon!
Declaration: I am in God’s hands. He will get me to my destination no matter what man does to me. I will not fear.
HIS HEART IN THE HEADLINESIn 2005, a giant waterfall was discovered in California. The 400-foot hidden wonder was found just 15 miles from a national park headquarters in Shasta County. It had been there for centuries and nobody knew it.
Now, 400 feet of raging whitewater sounds like it would be hard to miss, but miss it they did. I believe it is a prophetic voice for you and I.
Something so magnificent waiting to be discovered could only be seen from above. Nobody trekked in and discovered it. It was found through satellite images.
Sometimes you can’t see the proverbial forest for the trees and sometimes you can’t see the 400-foot raging waterfall because it is off the trail everybody traditionally walks on. This waterfall was there all the time, but it was off the map.
I hear the heartbeat of the Father in this event. God knew it was there all the time. He was just waiting for someone to discover it. When they did, I’m sure it was a great day for the Lord.
The Father is waiting for you to move forward for upgrade. He wants you to discover new facets of Him and to explore new opportunities to share Him with others.
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ – Jeremiah 33:3

Goodness Changes the Atmosphere
Luke 9:29 – As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening.
Stephen was no comic book superhero. He was a real man being stoned to death for preaching the Good News of Jesus’ resurrection and the eternal life it promised believers. He is just like you. If God provided this miracle for Stephen as he faced death at the hands of evil men, what more will He do for you as you take the Gospel to your friends and neighbors? You were made to go behind enemy lines and snatch POWs from Satan’s camp, so move out!
Declaration: I am in God’s hands. He will get me to my destination no matter what man does to me. I will not fear.
GOODNESS CHANGES THE ATMOSPHEREWhen you get good at setting the atmosphere, you begin to recognize sweet or sour atmospheres really quick.
It’s amazing to me where goodness will show up and, it might surprise you, but goodness likes to turn up in a mess. It actually thrives in chaos! Why? Because goodness will always oppose evil and evil is overcome by goodness because goodness wants to advance.
Goodness doesn’t tolerate evil and evil slinks back into the hole it crawled out of when goodness shows up. Just like light is superior to darkness, goodness is far superior to evil. When goodness shows up and tears darkness apart, it tends to be messy.
And God saw light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. – Genesis 1:4
God loves to be in the addition and multiplication business. But when it comes to confronting darkness with light, He drops His supernatural math into the division business. God moves darkness out of the way and displaces it with the goodness of light. BOOM!
Consequently, there is a lot of confrontation with goodness showing up. There tends to be a lot of yelling and slanderous accusations thrown at goodness because division tends to be messy.

Meek Isn’t Weak
Matthew 9:28 – And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
Have you ever avoided praying for healing because you feared the person would not be healed? Disappointment and failure are two powerful roadblocks that keep people from stepping out in faith for themselves and others. When doubt or fear challenge your faith and belief, pray anyway! God can’t answer the prayer that is never prayed. You have healing in your hands and life in your words.
Declaration: I believe in miracles. Jesus heals and has told me to stand in faith and pray for the sick. No matter the outcome, He is Lord.
MEEK ISN’T WEAKMoses came down from the mountain and we think of him as Charleston Heston – muscles bulging, hair blowing gracefully in the wind and the presence of God on his finely chiseled features.
Let me tell you the truth: Moses was really more like Pee-wee Herman than Heston. The Word tells us,
(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) – Numbers 12:3
See, our Gentile understanding of Moses is not a Biblical understanding. We all think of him as the alpha male when, in reality, he couldn’t talk well and he was the outsider in Pharaoh’s house as well as his own family.
Now, here’s something interesting about this verse. Moses wrote that.
While that might seem strange or even self-indulgent, our western thinking of the word meek is incorrect. While we think meek means “weak,” it actually means “strength with restraint.” My friends, Moses was no pushover. He dealt with some really difficult people in some extreme circumstances and people are still talking about it today.
While he was not a movie star, he was a rock star. So, remember that meek is not weak and Moses was the real deal. Strength with restraint – love and patience tempered with self-control is what every Christian should be operating in. Are you?

What Do You Want?
Hebrews 9:27 – And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment…
Think about it: If God answered every prayer that someone would not die, heaven would be empty. Why do we fear bodily death when we know we are eternal beings? Death is just a change of address–an upgrade if we know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is your choice where you live for eternity; either heaven or hell. Choose life. Choose Christ.
Declaration: I choose Jesus. He is my Savior, Redeemer, and Friend. I belong to Him and He belongs to me.
WHAT DO YOU WANT?Your want-life needs to be full of the Holy Spirit. There’s nothing wrong with having things you want in the natural, but you have to be careful you’re not wanting a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter.
Do you want that new car, or do you want to witness to the guy selling the car? When the world we know comes to an end, that car won’t matter. God has no problem with you getting a new car. However, you need to renew your mind, Romans 12:2, to want what He wants.
First, you need to turn up your want-life for Him. Then, in doing that, He gives you all these permissions. Here’s an example: I love it when God answers my prayers, but when God starts answering things I didn’t pray, that gets my attention.
What is that? He’s giving me the desires of my heart. I’m serving Him in the desires of my heart.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. – Psalms 37:4
When you partner with God in your want-life, that’s the kind of coolness that begins to happen.
“My soul follows hard after You, your right hand uphold me…” – Psalms 63:8
“Your right hand uphold me” means that God has given you strength. Why? Because your soul follows hard after Him. Every time you pursue, God supernaturally supports how you pursue Him.
When you were a kid, did you ever chase that cute girl or boy around the playground? Yes, she ran, but she kinda wanted you to catch her? When you pursue and chase after God, He wants you to catch Him, I promise. Once that happens, goodness and mercy shall follow you (Psalm 23:6).

Refuse to Be Offended
1 Corinthians 9:26 – Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
Do you know that you know that you know that Jesus is Lord and that God Almighty is a good Father? Do you have complete confidence the Holy Spirit lives in you and moves your heart to action? That is called faith and you can rest, and fight, assured of your place in the Lamb’s Book of Life. You are not beating the air when you pray for or witness to the lost. You are winning souls so keep fighting, mighty warrior!
Declaration: I am certain of this: God is good and He saved me. I will sing His praises forever.
REFUSE TO BE OFFENDEDThere’s an amazing woman in the Bible. She wasn’t a Jew, but she was following King Jesus looking for a word. She needed healing and was desperate. What did Jesus do? He called her a dog.
Look it up! It’s in the Bible. She was so persistent, she was getting on the disciples’ nerves. Jesus picked up that vibe and He’s like, “Watch how the disciples approve of me offending this person because she’s not only a woman but a Gentile.”
So Jesus says, “Excuse me, ma’am. I don’t really have anything for you because what I have is for the children of God and not for dogs.”
Ladies, would that sit right for you? You go to Jesus and you think He’s the most magnificent person in the world. You think He’s the most beautiful thing ever. You know He’s the Son of God, you know He has life and He says, “Uh, sorry! I don’t have anything for dogs.”
Here’s what that woman said: “You’re calling me a dog? Well, that means I get to sit under Your table and eat the crumbs that fall off.” She refused to leave. She refused to think Jesus wasn’t good after all.
He didn’t say that to humiliate her but to expose the fact she refused to be offended. She was going to seek Him and seek Him until she finally got something. Then He turns around to disciples and He’s like, “Boom! Look at this lady! I wish you guys were like her.”
I love that story. It’s offensive yet, heaven invades earth in that place. So, what about you? Do you let yourself get offended by the Bible, the preacher, the people sitting next to you or the pastor on TV? Do you get offended at God when He doesn’t answer your prayers when or how you thought He would?
Remember, God is good despite what your eyes see. He has something for you and even His crumbs are better than anything this world has to offer. Refuse to be offended.
“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” – Luke 7:23

God the Game-Changer
Luke 9:25 – For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?
It’s easy to fight for the wrong things in life. Power, position, prestige, money–while these things can all be used for the Kingdom, they should not be the goal. When you follow Jesus as your Good Shepherd, you may go through some dark and scary valleys, but He will bring you through to the Father’s table. He will let your cup run over with goodness and mercy! Let Him bring the increase and elevation to your life so it will be a treasure that does not fade.
Declaration: I will not chase worldly wealth and wisdom. I will chase the Lord and let Him decide my upgrade.
GOD THE GAME-CHANGERMost of us have heard of the 16 God names in the Old Testament, including Jehovah Jireh, the Lord is our Provider; or Jehovah Rapha, the Lord is our Healer. However, few have heard of Jehovah Nissi.
Jehovah Nissi, means the Lord is our Banner and the banner it’s referring to is the flag on a battlefield. If you want to win the battle for upgrade and momentum, you need to learn to call on Jehovah Nissi.
Jehovah Nissi is the game changing side of the Lord. He is the momentum changer.
The Lord is our Banner speaks of a battlefield where suddenly, the momentum swings in your favor because the King’s banner has entered the fray. It means the King Himself is fighting the fight!
Everything changes when you can see Jesus on your battlefield. It is from that momentum that you pick up your sword, get off the ground and scream in the face of the enemy again – think Braveheart!
When it comes down to it, the forceful part of moving forward in the Kingdom is to be taken head-on – never from your flanks or behind, so there’s no need to cover your butt because your armor is for living life forward. Read Ephesians chapter six and you’ll see the “full armor of God” covers everything but your backside.
Why? Because moving forward, upgrade, progression, momentum – they are not for people who turn their backs to see what’s behind them. You and I are not meant to be Lott’s wife, looking back in longing of what she was leaving behind. We are to be the warrior Bride of Christ – positioned to move forward and win the battle under the banner of the King!

Flight 191
Jeremiah 9:24 – “But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
God values humility in His people. If there is any reason to boast, it is in Him and what He has done in your life. Remember, it’s not about who you are, but about what He has done for you. He made you, saved you, and raised you from the dead. Whatever you have been given, freely give to others and make the name of Jesus famous.
Declaration: I delight the Lord by giving all glory for good to Him. He is the author and finisher of my faith.
Flight 191It was a family’s darkest nightmare. On the television screen was a smoking ruins of a plane on the runway at DFW Airport. Delta Flight 191. We had waiting all day for my little sister, Missy’s plane to bring her home.
Now, I was 18 years old and bulletproof, so it hadn’t struck me that anything bad would happen to me or my family. But the video on the news was real. The smoking debris and burned bodies here scattered and thrown.
Though the pilot was one of the best and most capable and the plane was in good working order, a chance meeting with a Texas microburst, a weather event so unpredictable and extreme, shattered the lives of 136 of the 167 passengers that day. Their plane was literally driven into the ground by an invisible force some would call an “act of God.”
Let’s get this straight – God doesn’t do that kind of thing. Those winds were part of a diabolical series of events driven by the devil and cloaked in natural phenomenon.
While a cousin who worked at the airport rushed out into the flaming heap to look for my sister, we at home worried and prayed. The Lord was way ahead of us.
Missy was about to turn 14 when she was invited to go to Bermuda on vacation with a girl from school. It was obvious that mom and dad didn’t want to bother with the inconvenience of being a parent, so Missy was brought along to entertain their daughter. These people didn’t know it at the time, and likely still don’t today, but their lives – maybe even eternity – depended on my sister being with them on the trip.
The mom had a problem with anger and alcohol. The night before they were to catch their plane, she made Missy the target of her miserable life. She called my sister horrible names and belittled her, making her pack her bag that night to have it ready. The mom made sure Missy’s birth certificate was right on top so she didn’t have to dig for it in the morning.
Letting Missy fend for herself through customs, Missy opened the suitcase to get the birth certificate and, to her complete horror, it wasn’t there. How could that be? She’d double checked it in Bermuda. Frantically, she tore through her clothes looking for the piece of paper.
To make a long story short, several people when through that suitcase looking for the birth certificate. It was not there. The crazed mom screamed, yelled and threatened my sister. Missy said it was terrible. She decided to look one last time.
When she turned to her suitcase, which had been laying open on a customer table, she could see the piece of paper sitting right on top where it was in the first place – in plain view but miraculously unseen by all until this moment.
They all rushed to the gate where flight 191 was sitting. It had finished boarding.
“We have not missed it! It is still sitting there! Let us on!” the woman ranted and raved at an airline employee who refused to let them on. The doomed flight left without them. They caught another flight, one that would get them home safely and not send that woman and her hen-pecked husband to hell that day.
It was a miracle they were not on that plane. Missy would grow up, get saved and for several years, work with her husband as a children’s pastor before becoming a nurse. Literally, thousands of lives have been touched by her service and ministry because Jesus blinded the eyes of everyone in customs to that piece of paper.
So what happened to that bully of a woman? I bet you think she saw the light when she saw the flames and apologized. Well, she didn’t. She continued her tirade all the way to my mom’s front door where she was promptly handed her hat and sent off in angry, self-serving disgrace. Yep, my mom threw her clean off the property!
So what is the message in the miracle? Just because God does a miracle for you, doesn’t mean you are smart enough to recognize it. That woman wasn’t.

We’re Counting on You
Mark 9:23 – Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved–you and your household.” Those are the words of Paul and Silas to the Roman jailer. Just minutes earlier, they were in chains. Now, he sees he is the one in bondage to sin and death. Can you believe what you cannot see to gain what you cannot earn? Jesus made all things possible!
Declaration: I believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. I will tell all He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to Father God without Him.
WE’RE COUNTING ON YOUFollowing Jesus is a two part commitment. You are called to love Him and join His body of worshippers – the church. I call that “relationship” with God and “fellowship” with the church, and it’s a wonderful thing, except for when it’s not.
It is the relationship with other Christians that isn’t always wonderful.
Now, I have good friends that are kingdom-minded Christians and they maintain healthy Christian relationships without going to church very often. They stay connected to the body through service or ministries. These few people are the exception to the rule.
Most Christians need to attend church even if they don’t believe they do!
The New Testament never divides Christians into church members and non-church members. All the way through, it assumes that everybody participates in the local assembly. It gives no examples of Christians who belong to the “universal church,” but have no link to the local church.
Any idea of enjoying salvation and being a Christian in isolation is just plain foreign to the New Testament. Christians met regularly. Any time Paul made new converts, he immediately organized them into a little church. The next thing he did was ordain pastors not only to feed and lead those congregations, but put them in order.
For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you. – Titus 1:5
The reason for this is because the church must work together to carry out God’s purposes. It’s not a hard thing to understand, but so many Christians miss this! They fool themselves into thinking that salvation is the end of things, when it’s the beginning!
Renew your passion for fellowship. Know that we need you in the Body of Christ. You have a purpose I don’t. Come fulfill it! We’re counting on you.
