ARE YOU ON TARGET?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am a patient God. A day is like a thousand years when it comes to My long-suffering. Do I desire you to move, achieve and go after alignment for your assignment? Yes. Don’t wait too long. Lost sheep cannot be found without you.

ON TARGET?

When you start getting real and taking responsibility for your alignment, it brings acceleration, effectiveness and pinpoint accuracy for the targets God Almighty has designed for you to hit.

Those targets are your assignment and yes, I’m talking about being in alignment for your Kingdom assignment. If you can do that, the Lord says He will call you great.

“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 5:19

Do you know that God wants to call you great? He wants to see you do some great things. The world might not celebrate you, but I promise you He will be faithful to celebrate you.

Greatness is based upon the size of your heart. Kingdom greatness is based on the size of your response to God. Every believer has been given a tailor-made assignment and if you align with God and walk His path, it will lead you to a divine assignment and you’ll enter into eternal greatness.

Ultimate success and greatness come from alignment for assignment. You and I fail to realize that divine success is something we have the capacity to unleash. It’s all about our obedience to our identity and purpose – acting on the things God has put within us.

What about you? Do you want to hear God brag that you are “great in His Kingdom?” Act on that thing He has put in your identity. Get in alignment and find your assignment.

ARE GOD’S PRIORITIES YOUR PRIORITIES?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I created you for relationship with Me. Relationship is complex and multi-faceted. You are My creation, My child, but I also want you to be My friend. Align with My priorities and I will reveal a side of My nature you’ve never experienced before.

ARE HIS PRIORITIES YOUR PRIORITIES?

This is what friendship with God looks like: God comes down into your world and you begin to partner with Him, face to face. “Face to face” is an intimate term. It’s the cherubim flying round and round the mercy seat who see Jesus in the past, present and future and have their minds blown by His goodness. We need to be like them.

If you’re going to have close friends, you need to have similar priorities. Do you know how many close friends I have who don’t love OpenDoor Church? Zero. Do you know how many close friends I have who don’t have a heart for abolishing slavery or taking care of orphans? None. What is that?

It’s this: when you begin to become the friend of God, you begin to prioritize what Jesus prioritizes. You learn those priorities through friendship – through living life with Him every single day. By becoming His friend, you begin to live life with Him. Friendship is about the people you do life with.

In Luke 12 where Jesus teaches the fear of God – which means you love what God loves and you hate what God hates – you know what it says?

“I say to you, My friends , do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.” – Luke 12:4

Jesus is saying, “Do not worry about the priorities of the enemies of God.” Instead, consider the priorities of God Almighty Himself. Moses was like that and God responded in an amazing way.

“Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend…” – Exodus 33:1

God called Moses His “friend.” He is the only human being recorded in the Word that God Himself refers to in such an amazing way because friendship is back and forth. It implies equal footing. There were even times God listened to Moses and acted on what this man said all because they were friends – they had a relationship and were on the same page.

Are you on the same page as God? Do you have the kind of relationship where He can count on you the way a friend does? Love what He loves and hate what He hates. Make His priorities your priorities and see how it changes your relationship.

YOU ARE THE CHURCH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have given you My mind. You have the ability to tap into it, along with My heart. Love what I love and work to redeem what I hate. You were made to bring life.

YOU ARE THE CHURCH

While there are so many great theologians that teach so many wonderful things about the seven churches listed in Revelation, I think there are lots of different layers of revelation about these churches that we tend to miss.

We also tend to miss how those churches pertain to our lives. They are us.

When you look at how Jesus judges the churches, He bases it off three things:

What do you love?

What do you hate?

What is it that moves you?

The Church has failed in teaching the Body of Christ what we should hate. The opposite of love is not hate, the opposite of love is selfishness. So what should we hate? Anything God hates!

If these things don’t motivate you to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth, you’re faith may be weak, lukewarm or dead. But I have good news for you.

If you want to know how Jesus rules and reigns in the midst of a church that is dead? Read Revelation 3:1-6. How does Jesus rule and reign with a church that is weak, but they are faithful? Read Revelation 3:7-13. How does Jesus rule and reign in the midst of a people that are lukewarm, read Revelation 3:14-22.

My friends, we are the church -– you and I. Know what you love. Know what you hate and what moves you. Align that with the Father and see how He uses you today.

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

The most important search you can make is for your identity. It will lead you to Me. It will lead you to your purpose an your destiny. Get into alignment for your assignment. Find out who you are to Me.

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE

Assignment comes from identity. It comes out of who God says you are. So how do you figure this out? You need to have some pretty radical ongoing encounters with God for you to learn who God is to you and who you are to Him.

Here at OpenDoor, we’re all about kicking religion and poverty in the teeth upon behalf of people in bondage and desperate circumstances. We are redemption and transformation fanatics and we believe we have a mandate to see what redemption looks like in all kinds of different areas. We are madly in love with Jesus, we are Jesus people. This is our identity.

Because of that, our assignment is to feed desperate people at the OpenDoor Food Bank and our monthly homeless outreach. We free girls and boys from sexual slavery and set them up for an abundant life. Our assignment is the action we take, and believe me, we’re all about accomplishing great vision.

Not long after he took office, the president had one of the most successful weeks in his short tenure and all of it was tarnished by a tweet that was out of his assignment. Nobody talked about the victories he had because they were busy blowing the controversial comment he made way out of proportion.

Know this: Stepping out of your assignment can knock you out of alignment or put you back a few steps in the process. Let’s not do that.

Being president is hard, but so is being you. You’ve got to overcome both the enemy and the in-a-me to stay in alignment. Remember who you are and whose you are. When you know you’re His child, you will act accordingly and impact the world around you for Jesus. That’s your assignment.

…he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— Ephesians 1:5

JUMP FOR JESUS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am not a stingy God. I lavishly provide all you need. At times, it may not seem to be all you want, but I Am all you need. Set your mind on things above, not on the earth.

JUMP FOR JESUS

There’s a lot of warfare between heaven and earth. If you want to move from a spirit of poverty into abundance, let me tell you, that doesn’t just happen because God wants it to happen.

God wants it to happen so much that when you enter into heaven, asphalt is gold. Did you hear that? God uses gold like we use gravel.

You have to work toward upgrade. I’m not talking about working for salvation. I’m talking about working to deliver a baby – whatever your baby is – ministry, financial freedom, mental stability or strong relationships – the list goes on.

I’m talking about co-laboring with the Lord in such a way that you get sold out to how it is in heaven. When you do, you’re saying, “I want that King to rule and reign in my life, right now. I’ve made my mind subject to Him. I’m going to make my words and my actions subject to Him. I’m going to be somebody who lives like I’m in heaven right now and when Jesus says, ‘Jump’ I have to say ‘How high?’ And it’s my joy.” Amen.

Guys, in the midst of trying to carry out God’s plan and God’s heart, there’s all this warfare and there are in fact victims and casualties of warfare. Yes, a lot of warfare goes into upgrade.

I want to tell you, the greatest victim – the most common casualty of the spiritual warfare you and I fight is not you. It’s not me. It’s not even the people who don’t see the kingdom move. The greatest victim is King Jesus.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10

Do you want an upgrade to abundance? Do you want to go higher and deeper? Jump for Jesus and watch the Kingdom move.

BE STILL AND KNOW

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I desire more than anything for you to walk with me. I won’t yell. You must be quiet at times to hear me. Trust My Holy Spirit to guide you. Trust My word. Trust I will take care of you.

BE STILL AND KNOW

If it’s so normal to pray in the Bible with hands stretched out, why is it taboo in the Church? We need to check our dignity at the door as we go after the deity of Jesus.

There are so many patterns and scriptures in the Bible about how to do things in a Kingdom way. However, in the church, because we value our dignity and control so much, we don’t allow Jesus to be King.

We need quiet listening time and intimacy with God, alone and as a congregation. This is vital for a believer! For God to move a certain way, sometimes we just have to be quiet. We have to learn stillness in how we live our lives if we’re going to bring stillness into this place – the church.

We know what stillness is. It’s trust, surrender and it’s expectancy. Trusting and surrendering to the Lord because you know He’s awesome even when you don’t know what He’s going to do.

Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?” – Romans 11:34

Certainly not me, nor you for that matter. If the Jews and early church believers prayed with hands raised to the heavens, why do we think it’s odd? I think we care too much about what “sister Susie Rottenheart” might think of us.

How about we concern ourselves with what God thinks of us? In Romans 1:16, Paul states he is not ashamed of the Gospel. Are you? I promise you, this ol’ boy from Johnson County is not.

KINGDOM OF PEACE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have said I will never leave you nor forsake you. You are secure in Me. Invite My Spirit to have dominion in your life and I will give you peace.

KINGDOM OF PEACE

You can’t bring the Kingdom if you’re not a subject of God’s Kingdom. If you are a subject of the kingdom, that means you’re willing to do whatever the King tells you. You subject yourself to the King.

Why? Because it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you and me His Kingdom. Did you catch that? There’s a gift attached to being subject to King Jesus! Now, hold that thought.

The Kingdom is where the king has dominion. That’s where things are finally right. If you’ve got the Kingdom in your marriage, finances, and relationship with your kids, Jesus rules and reigns, and things are wonderful. That’s peace!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure…” – Psalms 122:6

So, my friends, when the Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we’re not just praying for the absence of conflict, we’re asking God to rule and reign there. We’re asking Him to have dominion in the hearts and minds of our Jewish brothers and sisters. When we do, there’s what?

The gift of security!  Another translation of the word for “secure” is the word “prosper.” Man, I love that! Are you a subject of the King willing to do whatever He tells you with your life? If you are, you will be secure and prosperous. That’s the Kingdom!

So, I double dog dare you today, to subject yourself to King Jesus today and say, “Have your way in me.” Let Him rule and reign. And be obedient to pray for your Jewish brothers and sisters. They’ll be blessed and so will you!

SHOUT AT THE DEVIL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

My Son won the fight over 2,000 years ago. It is not your purpose to fight the enemy. It’s your duty and responsibility to resist him. Cry a shout of victory, then walk in that victory. We win!

SHOUT AT THE DEVIL

There are many ways to approach God in prayer, but one of the most effective is crying out to the Lord. The Bible shows us two main Kingdom themes of crying out: a shout of victory and a cry of desperation.

A shout is high volume. When it comes to a shout of victory, it might not be in celebration, but in declaring a victory. Shouting is so appropriate for things prophetic.

Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” – Luke 19:37-40

The people who are in love with Jesus are shouting, then the religious people start shouting because it’s rude that the Jesus-loving people are shouting. It’s interesting that Jesus said that the stones on the real estate of Zion actually have a voice – not only that, but they would “cry” out.

Now, Jesus was saying that shouting was not only appropriate, it had to happen for that move of God to be complete.  And if the rocks can shout out a praise, certainly you and I oughta shout, Amen!

Whether it’s a hallelujah shout or a “please help me” cry, He hears us. Not only have I cried out for rescue and given a victory shout to the Lord, I have also been known to shout at the enemy. Sometimes you just need to tell him to back off!

The enemy has no authority in your life if you don’t give him any. Jesus defeated the enemy a long time ago so it’s not your job to fight Satan. That fight’s been won. It is your responsibility to resist him.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Stop wasting time and energy fighting a fight that has already been won. – James 4:7

Shout that at the devil. He hates that as much as he hates hearing your shout of victory to the Lord. Maybe more.

THE POWER OF BAPTISM

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I want you to be baptized in both water and fire. Water to declare your intentions and fire to declare Mine. Let the fire of My Holy Spirit give you the blueprint to fulfill My plan for your life. I Am well pleased with you.

THE POWER OF BAPTISM

Today, I want to talk to you about baptism. Let’s start out with what it’s not: The power of baptism is not about joining a church. The power of baptism is not about you being saved.

My friends, the power of baptism is in the prophetic act of baptism. The reason people don’t understand the power of baptism as an act of prophecy is because everybody thinks it’s about salvation – that if you’re not baptized, you’re not saved. Praise God Jesus didn’t say that to the thief on the cross.

“Thank you Mr. Thief for professing your faith in me, but you must be baptized before you can enter paradise. Sorry!”

No. I don’t believe that baptism is a salvation issue, I believe that baptism is a victory issue. Baptism is a prophetic act that initiates supernatural victory into your life. The book of Luke records Jesus’ words on the subject:

“But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!” – Luke 12:50

What does that mean? This is what Jesus was saying, “When I got baptized in the Jordan River, it initiated something that I’m not done with. I have to carry it out.”

Baptism initiates supernatural power, but it’s not over with when you get baptized. Your marriage wasn’t over as soon as the wedding was done. The wedding initiated your marriage. Amen.

Okay, the prophetic act of being baptized initiates a supernatural response from heaven that you get to walk in for the rest of your life. Think about that. Chew on it like the spiritual beef jerky it is and ask the Lord what He wants you to accomplish. He’s given you the power, now He just needs a partner to carry it out.

ARE YOU PART OF THE FAMILY?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

When I say I will never leave you nor forsake you, I mean it. My Word is so powerful, I refuse to go back on it. I Am a keeper of covenant who delights in providing for you and watching you find your identity as part of My family.

FAMILY TIES

I told you Christmas isn’t for wimps and it’s true. Mary and Joseph were no pansies. If you thought your family was whack over the holidays, just know Joseph’s family took the prize for dysfunctional. That doesn’t mean he didn’t love them. He probably did, just like you and I love the knuckleheads in our family.

I can imagine Joseph talked about his family the whole way to Bethlehem – 70 miles across rocky terrain. I’m sure he was excited for Mary to meet them. They finally arrive and there are two things going on. First, the city is so packed they have to fight to get to the family.

Second, when the Bible says there was no room at the inn, that means there was no room with the family. The Hebrew word used for inn means “guest room.” Think about that. The family actually turns them out. They didn’t go to a wedding, so why is that woman pregnant? What’s that all about? Well, it’s a God thing! They probably thought Joseph had lost his mind. Talk about family ties that bind!

Abandoned by the ones who should have loved and protected them, Mary and Joseph found a place with the sheep. Mary gave birth by herself – without the guidance and wisdom of the women in her family – in a filthy place surrounded by animals and clueless husband.

She was such a good girl and she ended up shamed by Joseph’s family. I can’t imagine the pain Joseph endured over his beautiful young wife that he loved with all his heart being rejected. What does it mean to you if your family says, “No, we can’t take care of your pregnant wife. As a matter of fact, you guys belong with the animals.”

Have you been there? Shamed, rejected, even despised by the very people who should love and accept you? I have and I promise you, so has Jesus – from the very day He was born.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. – Isaiah 53:3

Know this: Jesus was born to take away your shame and restore you to His family. We are accepted, not rejected, by our heavenly Father and our awesome big brother. Are you part of the family?
