WANT ALL THE BLESSINGS?
I created you with a mind to learn. Learn of my ways, read My word with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Seek Me and I promise to meet you half way.
SELECTIVE READING?
The Bible speaks of just a few of the blessings from the Lord that we can believe in. This scripture is a little long, but let’s plow through.
Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them. – Deuteronomy 28:10-14
Sounds good, right? Most Christians would shout “Amen” to receiving those blessings. Here’s what’s real: we need to understand that God means each of these promises to those who “heed His commandments, observe His word and not turn from it to the right or to the left.”
It’s kind of like “selective hearing.” A lot of wives claim their husbands suffer from this serious disorder. They hear what they want to hear and totally tune out phrases like “could you” and “would you.”
Some may have kids who suffer as well. Just like that, you and I can’t just read the parts of the Bible we like and only pay attention to that part.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
If you want all the blessings God has for you, pay close attention to all of His word. It will bring you freedom, real life and transformation.

MASTER YOUR MIND
I know the struggles of your mind. You can marshal your thoughts. I have given you the gift of self-control. Use it to take your thoughts captive so you can come to Me with a right mind and spirit. The prayers of a righteous man avail much.
MASTER YOUR MIND
Atmosphere is such a big deal. When it comes to prayer and petitioning God, you have to line up the environment to what is in your heart. I’m talking about atmosphere and this includes the setting your prayer is taking place in.
Here’s what’s real: When I’m praying, I can feel all this anxiety and anger because I know God promised me one thing, but I’m seeing something else. This may sound crazy, but this happens, I get up, leave that room and slam the door and BOOM! I will leave it in that room.
I’ll leave that confusion, doubt, anxiety and anger in that room and I’ll go, “Okay, I’m talking to you, Mr. Brewer. You will be conformed to the image of God’s plan for your life.” Yes, I will flat out talk to myself and tell the in-a-me to get with God’s program.
Through setting and atmosphere, you can figure out skill sets to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to get into your soul! When this happened to King David, he spoke to himself. He said,
“O my soul, why are you disquieted within me?” – Psalm 43:5
It’s biblical to talk to yourself. Then he said,
“You will wait upon the Lord.” – Psalm 27:14
He’s like, “David, when you get with the program God shows up.” He’s talking to himself and bringing himself into alignment. He’s refusing to sit in a dramatic place. Instead, he’s choosing to sit in a truthful place.
Do you struggle with the in-a-me during prayer? Do you need to get with God’s program in your head and heart? Choose your setting. Set your atmosphere and master your mind. Have a soul invasion and bring the Kingdom into your earth.

OFFENDED? DON’T BE
When so much has been forgiven you, why are you holding on to offense? It is the poison you drink daily hoping it will make someone else sick. Spit it out. Forgive and make up your mind to follow Me, the one who redeemed you.
OFFENDED? DON’T BE…
Part of what I’m going to be telling ya’ll today is controversial and I need you to wrap your head around that. Because what’s real is, you have never lived in a day where folks cringe meter gets busted as easily as today.
As a growing portion of the United States gets further, and further away from the Holy Spirit, remember this: self-control is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. So, as people reject God, when they get mad, they have to riot, burn something or kill somebody because they are offended.
People feel like they have to do something because they’re losing their minds. Let me tell you, that’s not you! You have the Holy Spirit within you.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22
Notice love is first and self control is last. That’s because everything in-between in only possible with those two book ends.
So, self-control is a really big deal in these days when the races and political parties are so polarized. When people, even in the church, get offended over the least thing and have to run good people down to make themselves look more righteous. You and I? We don’t have to be a part of that.
My friends, don’t join the mob. Don’t jump on that bandwagon even if it seems like a good thing. With time so short – and time is what we’re going to be talking about in this series – we need to be serving, loving and testifying to Jesus’ goodness. Offended? Don’t be. Tell someone about Jesus so they can be in their right mind.

DO YOU NEED A POWER BOOST?
You are called according to My purpose. Though you take wrong turns, curse rather than bless and bring consequences on yourself, I Am bigger than that. I know the beginning from the end and work all things for your good.
THE WORKING OF HIS MIGHTY POWER
Well, when I start feeling like I’m losing control of my mind and emotions, when the in-a-me has gotten a foothold, I know I need to go to the book of Ephesians. The words in that book reassure me I’m not living a powerless life.
Here’s the truth on your thoughts and emotions: Just because you feel it, doesn’t mean you have to act on it. You’re not supposed to submit to your carnal feelings.
“Well, Pastor Troy I’ve felt like this since I was a child. I don’t know any other way.” Well, God Almighty has called you to be an overcomer. Hallelujah.
Now, back to Ephesians 1 where Paul is talking about lots of cool things. It always amazes me when Paul says this strange thing:
“I pray that you would know what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…” – Ephesians 1:19
What Paul is talking about here is the power of God. In fact, I found a great quote by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones: “Take all the dictionaries of the world, exhaust all the vocabularies, and when you have added them all together you have still not begun to describe the greatness of God’s power.” BOOM!
If you are able to describe the power of God within your life, you have no power of God within your life. You need to tap into things that are indescribable. You know God is working, but you just cannot put into words what He’s doing and how it works together for your good.
Feelings ruling your thoughts and actions? Is your walk in need of a power boost so you can be speechless at the good works He is doing within you? Tap into Ephesians. Read it out loud. Speak its declarations and put yourself into that text. Step out in faith and see what true power is!

IN GOD WE TRUST
I created you to love Me and be loved. You are my beloved. Am I yours? Trust me with your heart and I will give you life, abundant life.
IN GOD WE TRUST
Vulnerability and intimacy are all about trust. While this is an issue in marriage, I’m talking about a different bride and groom relationships today. It’s going after a deeper relationship in Christ and then learning God in such a way that it inspires you to go even deeper.
God has made it so that when people are exposed to intimacy, they crave more intimacy. That’s why we guard our kids because once they’re exposed to certain things, it opens a Pandora’s box with no end.
That’s a Kingdom principle when you begin to go after God and He begins to reveal His secrets to you. When He does, that’s permission for you to go after Him more. Permission granted.
Go after God. Go after Him in a crazy cool way and get to know Him in a way that gets on other people’s nerves. Provoke the lost and the frozen chosen to jealousy. Make them want what you have.
Do you trust Him with your heart? Do you trust Him with your dreams, your kids, your spouse, and your finances? Be vulnerable. Draw close to Him and see how He rewards you.
He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. – John 12:25-26

WHAT ARE YOU STANDING ON?
When you stand against darkness, all of heaven takes notice. How the angels marvel when you who have not seen stand firm for My Name. When you ask for faith, I will supply it generously so you won’t fall.
ADDED UNTO YOU
I’m not going to lie. I’m scared of heights. The thought of climbing a ladder puts a panic in me, but there’s something that strikes a deeper fear in my heart. It’s this: when I’m not seeking the Lord and He shows up, I don’t know that He’s there.
You see, you and I miss incredible opportunities for Jesus to meet us because we’re too busy doing something else to actually seek Him.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33
There are actually two different levels to this. The first level is seeking first the Kingdom. That’s where Jesus rules and reigns. What parts of your life have you let the Kingdom into? Your marriage, but not your relationship with your kids? Your home, but not your TV or computer habits? Fix that.
The second part is once you’re going after His Kingdom and Jesus is actively ruling and reigning throughout your life, make sure you know for certain you have a place in that Kingdom. What?!?
See, righteousness means “right standing.” It also means “one with legs.” The God-given ability to stand in that place. When you seek His righteousness, that means you’re ready to stand on the Rock and not be shaken by the world or shifted by the enemy.
Once you stand, your life will overflow because Jesus will add all kinds of blessings, gifts, opportunities and just awesome stuff into your life. So, get after some seeking. His Kingdom and right standing are your reward, and then some!

SHINE THE SPOTLIGHT
When you exalt Me in the assembly, I can draw all men to Me. Put Me at the center of your life. When you humble yourself in My sight and point to Me, I can lift you up.
SHINE THE SPOTLIGHT
When you get baptized you’re making a public announcement that Jesus Christ has moved from obscurity to the forefront. Why? Because that’s what Jesus doing when He went to the Jordan River and looked His cousin John in the eyes.
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. – Matthew 3:13-15
Jesus was stepping out of obscurity into the spotlight. When you get baptized, you’re saying, “Jesus is not on my back burner any longer. Everybody doesn’t know who Jesus is in my life, but they will now. He’s moving from the wings to center stage.”
Baptism is a sign that you’re stepping into a new destiny in Christ. You are sanctified or separated from your past and you’re consecrated to your true purposes in God.
Have you let the world know you’re not the star of the show? Have you stepped out in faith and said, “I’m going to follow Jesus because He’s my everything. When you see what He’s done in me, you’ll see how awesome He is”? Take the plunge and step out of the shadows. Shine the light on Jesus.

YOU’RE NOT DONE YET
You may see yourself as a mess, but I see you as complete. Do not look to your past for definition. Look to Me. I Am your Creator. I know your identity and purpose. Trust Me when I tell you it is good.
YOU’RE NOT DONE YET
No matter what you think, you’re not done yet. It doesn’t matter how many Bible studies you’ve taught, outreaches you’ve served at or Bible verses you’ve memorized, you still have stuff you need to accomplish for the Kingdom.
Getting into alignment isn’t easy. Just when you think you’ve cleared all the junk out of your life and you’re advancing in the Kingdom, something always competes for your attention – and it’s always something good.
But know this – good isn’t always God. There are plenty of good things you can be doing with your time, talent and treasure that have nothing to do with your assignment.
It pleases the Lord so much when He sees you deciding to go after it and leave all the other things out. He needs you to be somebody rightly aligned, somebody positioned under an open window of heaven.
The Bible says it this way:
“He who abides in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” – Psalms 91:1
That’s alignment. Is that a picture of who you are? Abide in that secret place and be in the center of His will.

WHICH SIDE OF THE CROSS ARE YOU AT?
I Am and have always been God. I sent you My Son to save you not only from My wrath, but from yourself. Jesus was and is the ultimate sacrifice. He is enough. Surrender your life to Him and obtain My mercy.
WHICH SIDE OF THE CROSS?
When I look at the curses in the Old Testament, I see that over in the New Testament there are also curses and blessings. However, I recognize there is a stark contrast between one side of the cross and the other side.
What we’re talking about is the difference between justice and mercy.
On the one side of the cross, before Christ, if you do everything right, God will be good to you. If you do anything wrong, God will show His wrath. On the side of the cross after Christ, what God Almighty offers you mercy. This is because Christ bore all of our sins on the cross. He took all God’s wrath upon Himself – ALL!
The Old Covenant was never the answer to man’s problems, only the mirror for us to see our sinful nature. At the right time, God made a New Covenant and it’s a huge upgrade from judgment for what we deserve, to mercy which we don’t deserve.
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. – Hebrews 8:8-10
Before Jesus, sacrifice was required for the forgiveness of sin. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice and those who accept Christ as Lord and Savior have no need to make sacrifices anymore.
The purpose of the “law” was to show men we couldn’t keep the laws, that we need God. Still, we tend to run back to the law because keeping rules and checking the boxes is all we know. There’s a better way!
Run to the Cross. Find your Savior there and tell Him you accept His sacrifice. Lay down your life and know that it is finished. Mercy has won the battle for your eternal life.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND
When you wander away in your thoughts, repent. When you follow the wrong path in your relationships, work, attitudes, and actions, turn away from that path. Follow me and I will lead you out of captivity!
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND!
Many of us were brought up in very religious churches where “repent” meant feeling really, really bad and enduring guilt and shame for your mistakes. Here’s the good news: Jesus says you don’t need to do that.
“Pastor Troy, you mean I’ve been beating myself up with guilt and shame for years and I didn’t have to?” That’s exactly what I’m saying.
Repentance is simply turning 180 degrees from the way you’re going. Go the opposite way. Simply put, Jesus says you need to change how you think and act. If more people truly realized what repentance is, they’d be more apt to repent.
John the Baptist, Jesus’ cousin and the Spirit-filled “second Elijah,” drew thousands to the wilderness with his challenge for people to repent and be baptized because the Kingdom of God is at hand. It still is!
Did you know John was the rightful high priest of Israel at that time? He was. His daddy, Zechariah, had been the high priest and these things are passed down through the bloodline. So, who was Caiaphas? He was a political figure who symbolized all that was wrong in that day.
When Jesus went to John to be baptized, he did not have to repent, but through the act of John dunking him, Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit and took his rightful place as High Priest in the order of Melchizedek, amen.
That was a cool rabbit trail, but what I really want to get to is this: repentance was the call in Jesus’ day and it’s still the call today. Turn away from what is eating you alive. Turn away from the sin that so easily entangles.
REPENT! Think new thoughts. Act a new way. Hang out with new friends who love Jesus and want to see you advance in the Kingdom. Leave the old behind and embrace the new. It comes with some major eternal benefits:
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord… – Acts 3:19
