HOW DID WE GET HERE?

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in the name of Jesus I will not let the enemy’s distractions cause me to lose my way. I displace the enemy by expanding the Kingdom in my heart and mind. I am focused on Jesus like an arrow hitting the mark!

HOW DID WE GET HERE?

It’s very embarrassing for a guy like me to get lost. I don’t know why, but I’m always convinced I’ll get to the right place and I tend to get mad at the road if it doesn’t cooperate with me.

If I do get lost, it’s usually because I’m talking on the cell phone. I miss exits and outright drive to wrong cities if I stay on the phone long enough. I’ve been known to hang up, look up and say, “How did I get here?”

The same thing happened to Commander George P. Ryanway. On Nov. 23, 1877, the last of the great naval steam ships, the USS Huron, left port and headed south toward Cuba captained by the best and brightest West Point had to offer.

Because he was acutely aware of his education, Ryanway ignored warning after warning of upcoming storms. He was confident his compass and his knowledge could help him weather any gale or wave.

However, he failed to realize there was a tiny 1-degree error in the ship’s compass. The further it headed south, the closer the USS Huron would edge toward the reefs of the east coast. Within 24 hours, the Huron sank just 200 yards off the coast of Virginia and 98 men lost their lives.

Ryanway’s last recorded words were, “My God, how did we get here?”

Ever look up from your busy life, see the wreck about to happen and ask the same question? I have, many times, and I know you have too.

Ryanway was lost because what he trusted wasn’t true. I was lost because I was distracted. Sometimes, we’re lost in a fog of pain, despair or doubt. Whatever the reason, it’s a very bad thing to be lost. Father God knew that. That’s why He sent Jesus.

“…for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” – Luke 19:10

Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit to help us find our way.

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. – John 14:16-18

You see, God hates the idea of you being lost. He will do whatever it takes to find you, but you have to want to be found. Have you fallen off the path and need to be restored? Never been on the right road and want to find the way to your true home? Call out to Him! It’s that easy.

He will lead you and give you direction. It’s the most precious gift anyone has ever been given because it meets your greatest need. We are all in desperate need of a savior!

Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. – Matthew 18:14

Wednesday Experience: The Template

Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022

Pastor Jerry Sellers, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

I want to talk to you tonight about the Template, the Word of God – About how God uses scripture, His written Word. I must say this again: every time God speaks, His word becomes law.

God uses scripture

1. To show us how we are known

From the very beginning God has had us in mind. The focus of His love was set upon us like a Bullseye on a target.

Ephesians 1:3-6, 9-11

Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts!

4 And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence.

5–6 For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace—for the same love he has for his Beloved One, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure!

9 And through the revelation of the Anointed One, he unveiled his secret desires to us—the hidden mystery of his long-range plan, which he was delighted to implement from the very beginning of time. 10 And because of God’s unfailing purpose, this detailed plan will reign supreme through every period of time until the fulfillment of all the ages finally reaches its climax—when God makes all things new in all of heaven and earth through Jesus Christ.

11 Through our union with Christ we too have been claimed by God as his own inheritance. Before we were even born, he gave us our destiny; that we would fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes every purpose and plan in his heart.

Romans 8:29-30

For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him.

30 Having determined our destiny ahead of time, he called us to himself and transferred his perfect righteousness to everyone he called. And those who possess his perfect righteousness he co-glorified with his Son!

These scriptures talk about the Pre-determined purpose of God for us. Something I have been milling over and chewing on is the things I am doing and walking in. The Father actually thought about those things long before I was ever born. It was a passion in His heart. Those thoughts came from Him seeing me before I was ever born. It is the same for you.

Luke 1:11-17 (NKJV)

This passage talks about how that, before John was born God saw him. John was already known in a Heavenly sense before the earth was introduced to him. The pathway we are on has been known by the Father for a long time.

Think about that for a second.

Before John is born, his dad, Zachariah, is getting a word from the Lord about his unborn son. The Father says, “I know who your son is going to be.”

The same thing happened to Jesus in Luke 4. He goes to a synagogue and grabs a scroll and reads Isaiah 61. He then says, “Today, this scripture is fulfilled.”

What Jesus is saying is, “This is what I am known in Heaven; This is what I am to become and therefore, this is what I will do. This is how Heaven sees me. So because they know me like this they interact, with me like that.”

So God uses scripture…

To show us how we are known.

2. To Uncover our Potential

If you discover who you are (Being), then you can discover how to operate (Doing).

Dominion, Authority, Power

These words have risen to the forefront of many conversations in these exciting biblical times. Its seems many are using them in what looks like a prophesied movement in these last days. To get a thorough understanding is to look deeper.

Dominion…To rule over creation from the heart of God another wards with the best interest of creation in mind.

Authority…power to act,  being as a right or privilege, delegated empowerment, delegated power globally

Power…force, ability, In Luke 10:19 you see authority and power together

Luke 10:19

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

In this verse you see these NT words that Jesus speaks and establishes law. Authority and Power.

Authority… legal permission, ability to control or to choose

Power…abilities and capacities, what actions a person can do or has done “power,” “might,” “influence,” “authority,” and “force.

Jesus did not restore us to the place of Dominion and give us power and authority so we could just sit, to just soak up all we can and wait for the rapture.

Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV)

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16  He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17  And these signs will follow those who [ a ]believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18  they[ b ] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

He set us up with dominion, gave us power and authority to deal with and to dominate the works of the devil. He gave us power and authority to silence the illegal voice that torments people with lies and deception. He empowered us through the Holy Spirit to set people free!

The Father has given us the great privilege to walk in the anointing and favor that Jesus walked in.

John 14:12 (NKJV)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

We cannot escape the fact that God has called us to invade and do the impossible and to demonstrate His Love, demonstrate His righteousness, demonstrate His Power. To walk this out we have to know who we are. We have to discover our identity.

This is Identity at it’s finest!

Identity is a 2 part Epoxy ….Revelation and Obedience

Obedience seals what has been revealed in scripture.

Identity is a big deal

Say that with me.

God knows who you are and He knows who you are becoming. It’s as if there is a path laid out for you that’s been predetermined in His heart.

He wants us to discover, to understand how we are known in Heaven. Heaven has a knowledge see the complete picture of who you are. And I would bet it’s not how you view yourself. It’s probably not the image that you see. If or when you’re able to uncover the revelation of how you are known in Heaven then you know how to Operate on earth.

When you can tap into the image and knowledge of who you are in the Mind and Heart of the Father, you then know how to Be; how to Become; you begin to reflect the Image of God, of Jesus Christ. It’s called “Being.”

We remember the prophetic language “Alignment for our Assignment “

Alignment: Being; Becoming; Knowing how we  are positioned…In Christ

Assignment: Doing…If we are in Alignment if we are discovering how to be who we are and how we are known  then when we are equipped and empowered to go after our assignment we are resourced and we are equipped with the ability to accomplish, to gain, to overcome but this doesn’t happen if you have not learned how to Be.

God uses scriptures the written word so we can understand who we are in Him and He uses scriptures  to show us how to operate with those he has called us to and given to us as an assignment.

Another way God uses Scripture is

3. To show us our inheritance.

God has granted our Inheritance based upon His Promises. There are times when God’s word is high lighted to you maybe through our own reading and study, or maybe in a teaching, a pod cast or a sermon that a scripture jumps off the page and becomes alive, It makes your baby leap so to say.

These can be called “Inheritance Words.” When you know God is specifically talking to you.

I’ll give you an example: I have always been intrigued with John 10:10. IT’S ALWAYS CAUGHT MY ATTENTION. I read John 14 earlier. In 2008, that was a huge word for me.

Now, there is a tendency to run with inheritance words to others, but that is really the secondary purpose of it. The primary purpose of it becoming alive to you is that you have confidence and permission to pursue the promise in that scripture.

When you know how Father sees you, then you know you have favor in that context. All the favor and all the resources of God now are available to you in that context.

I challenge you to look up in a concordance the word “Favor.” The first 20-25 verses about favor all start off with the same context: “If I have found favor in your eyes, in your sight.”

Against that backdrop now unpack this: God gives you a scripture, a verse, a specific word and it’s like He is looking at you and He is saying, “See this word? This scripture? It’s yours. Everything in it belongs to you. This is your inheritance. You have favor with me in the context of that inheritance word.”

Picture this: God works from the whole to the particular and back again. He looks at the whole of creation and what He is doing, and then He comes down to you as an individual who is being conformed to His image. “This is how I see you,” He says. “This is what I like. This is who you are. This who I plan to be for you and if you plant your feet in this–if you can learn to be–if you can partner with Me in this word, in your inheritance Word, then I will open all of this up to you. The whole.

James 1:23-25

If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin. But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it—they experience God’s blessing in all that they do!

When God gives you a personal word it is the place, the ground where you stand and claim. You take ownership because you believe it belongs to you. Out of this place it will blossom to the whole.

Another way to call this is the Prophecy of Scripture.

John the Baptist had one, Jesus had one and we have one. We are joint aires we get included into an inheritance.

The Bible, the Word of God is a book of Encounters and Experiences. It’s the story of Mankind’s journey and the process of relationship with Father. It tells how to know Him, walk with Him, to understand His ways and to live within His Favor. The language He uses with us is Prophetic because it’s rooted in the Eternity of His purpose for us that goes back all the way to the foundation of the world.

He foreknew us and speaks to us from that Prophetic dimension.

So when we get an Inheritance word we are to steward it. We are to confess it, profess it, declare it in the same way Jesus and John did.

Abraham – what was his inheritance word that God gave him?   He would be the father of many nations.

He held onto the Promise even though his body was actually becoming old and decrepit. He and Sara had gotten to the place where the plumbing didn’t work anymore. So he learned how to steward the Promise/His inheritance word.

Romans 4:19-21 (NKJV)

And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20  He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21  and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

When God gives a Promise a critical point of certainty a place where you can stand, place where maybe doubt has been residing but now faith can arise up in you.

This word belongs in you and Father will will shape your life around it. Shaping is when things that  you haven’t been able to conquer of change maybe weaknesses, maybe habits, maybe actions and desires have controlled you now begin to fall into alignment or submit to the word of God spoken over you.

Inheritance Words enable you to prevail! Your inheritance Word keeps you in the heat of the battle. It keeps you from the furnace that you go through; It keep you in all of the circumstance of life.

So where doubt and fear have been I know pray differently I pray my inheritance words with confidence. I have hope, I have assurance cause I am living from a different perspective, I am learning to pray out, speak out what has been spoken to me.

We tend to treat promises circumstantially when we should treat them relationally. We call them down into our circumstances and that’s okay but there is a higher level we are being invited to walk in. If we only treat Promises we find  in  God’s word as a bandaid for our circumstances we only get a measure of what God wants to give us and not His fullness.

Fullness is attached to an ever growing relationship not our constantly changing circumstances. We need to understand that Everything in the Kingdom is Relational that it is the reality Father wants us to dwell in. Everything is relational. It’s not about performance it’s not about hey God look at me, I quit doing this, I’m not lusting, I’m not a drunk no more, I’m not mean and demeaning anymore, I’m not an addict, I don’t swear as much, I don’t look at porn anymore, no what I am doing is I’m focusing on my relationship with you, I’m putting my energy and attention on you and your word not on where I’m a screwup. What you focus on is what gets empowered. I’m walking out your promise to me.

Promises are geared to lift us into a fresh experience and encounter with the Father. We call a word down but in reality a promise is designed to call us up to a whole new upgrade in relationship.

When we are given an inheritance word/ a promise then we get a new layer of Revelation of who we are a new layer of our Identity.

The term “More that a Conqueror” is honestly this…..you know the result before the battle even starts. There is a confidence there that this whatever it may be belongs to us and we are taking it back.  Subdue the earth means when God told Adam and Eve in the Garden We are taking it back.

When we can find those inheritance words that the Lord has for us the Promises we move up from a much loved Son into Warrior of the Kingdom status. We walk with a Warrior Spirit and a Warrior anointing.

It’s like Caleb.

Joshua 24:12-14

Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord  will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.” And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel. And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba ( Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim). Then the land had rest from war.

If we can hear, seek, if we can find the Promises that are ours and we can confidently go after them then we can rise up and become mighty warriors for the Kingdom.

David had his mighty men they where so important that they where not only mentioned but they where named in the Bible.

2 Samuel 23:8-38

Gideon and the 300. He functioned off of his inheritance word. Off of the promise God gave him and won an incredible victory over impossible odds.

God uses scripture to enable us to understand our own story and for us to partner with Him in our journey.

How God uses scripture: Identity, Potential, Inheritance, Relationally, Freedom, Healing, to cancel Doubt, Because He loves you

THE SCARLET LETTER

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in the name of Jesus that God is redeeming my thought life in the places I saw things that were not of God. He is revealing where He was in that moment. Places of shame, be gone in Jesus’ name!

THE SCARLET LETTER

There is no way a healthy male cannot be aware of a beautiful woman when she enters the room. This does not make him bad. This makes him a man. God programmed every man to be sight-oriented. We are naturally visual!

A godly man will struggle with this awareness and spend a lot of conscious thought in extreme combat. Like the little train that said, “I think I can. I think I can,” he chants the mantra of “I will not look. I will not look!” He ends up seeing anyway, and by the end of the day, the scarlet letter “L” for “loser” is stamped on his spiritual forehead.

Knowing the truth about awareness can really set us free! It’s not a sin to be aware of a woman’s beauty. It is a sin to let that awareness escalate into carnal imaginations.

“Commit thy works unto the Lord and thy thoughts shall be established.” – Proverbs 16:3

The word “works” here means “actions.” When we commit our mental or physical actions to God, He will establish our thought life.

Do you think Jesus was unaware of the beautiful women He was in contact with? He was just like us – visual. Of course He noticed women. He looked, but did not lust. He was aware, but He practiced the art of “brain freeze.” He would not allow His awareness to turn into filthy imaginations.

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. – Hebrews 4:15

Jesus was aware of the crimes of the hideous Roman Empire, yet He would not let His mind harbor hatred. He was aware of the corruption of the priests, yet He didn’t entertain thoughts of bitterness. He was aware of the sins of the very people He healed – hands that were restored would later be used to steal, kill or destroy. He healed them anyway.

Jesus was even aware of the fact that the very people He took care of would soon turn against Him and yell, “Crucify Him!” yet, His mind was compassionate toward them.

SURVIVOR VS. OVERCOMER

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name, the Lord has cleaned and bound my wounds. They have become battle scars. My scars show I refuse to let the offense of the wounds of my heart take over. Jesus has overcome them.

SURVIVOR VS. OVERCOMER

There is a great difference between self preservation and overcoming. It is the difference between the wilderness and the Promised Land.

A survivor is someone who suffers a terrible attack and lives to tell about it. In the Kingdom of God, that’s not good enough.

You see, an overcomer is someone who suffers a terrible attack, then rises up and defeats his attacker.

Survivors are victimized. Overcomers are victorious.

Survivors have wounds. Overcomers have scars, like Jesus.

Survivors are peace keepers – think United Nations Peace Keeping Forces – basically useless. Overcomers are peace makers – think the six chambered pistol Samuel Colt forged that was used to bring justice and order to a lawless land.

You see, survivors go through the fire, then live life in constant reference to how they were burned. Overcomers go through the fire, and don’t even have the smell of smoke on their clothes – think Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego walking with the Angel of God in the fiery furnace.

Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!” – Daniel 3:25

Were they concerned about their own survival? If they were, they would have bowed down to the golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar. Instead, they refused to worship a false god. They honored the one true God by showing their evil king who the real boss was.

Yes, there is a big difference between survivors and overcomers. However, the biggest difference is in reward. In the Kingdom of God, survivors don’t inherit the promises. Overcomers do.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ‘To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’ – Revelation 2:7

Are you an overcomer? Choose life!

PAYBACK DOESN’T WORK

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name that mercy triumphs over judgment! God’s triumphant justice is working in my life and the lives of others. I will “Judge not, that ye be not judged” and will love my enemies into the Kingdom today.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING, PAYBACK DOESN’T WORK

If you ever have reason to drive west of Utley, Texas, it is easy to pass the historical marker on the south side of FM 969. If you do stop, you’ll find very little information about what actually happened on that site where, 178 years ago, people lived and died.

It is a place where both dreams and nightmares came true – where it is easier to die than to live.

The Coleman family is one of the bravest families who settled the frontier. They lived on land awarded them by Stephen F. Austin, himself. Robert Coleman farmed and commanded the nearby fort. His wife, Elizabeth, worked hard beside him, raising up two sons and several daughters.

When Robert drown in the Brazos River in 1837, Elizabeth and the kids fought on in near isolation for two more years. It seemed the Coleman’s were going to make it. Then came Feb. 18, 1839.

Elizabeth was working in the garden when she saw a Comanche raiding party coming full gallop toward the house. She screamed to the kids, but her youngest, Tommy, 5, was too far away. She saw him snatched up by a Comanche rider before an arrow pierced her throat.

When all was said and done, Tommy had been kidnapped. Elizabeth and her oldest son, Albert, had been killed. The girls were found cowering under the bed. Neighbors near and far vowed revenge for the horrific act of savagery, and they would have it.

Is your blood boiling at the injustice? It should. But let me tell you the rest of the story.

You see, those Comanches were the few survivors of an Indian village on the San Saba River – innocents who had just been massacred by settlers led by John Henry Moore a few days earlier.

Is your blood boiling? Well, it should. But wait! There’s more.

You see, Moore was hunting Indians – any Indians – to retaliate for another frontier family mowed down. They died because some other settlers killed some natives and the cycle of death goes on and on.

The problem is, none of this had to happen! You see, revenge does not belong to us. The Bible says it squarely belongs to God. My mama taught me a long time ago not to take something that doesn’t belong to me. I’m reminding you to do the same.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. – Romans 5:19

Vengeance is not, I repeat, NOT yours! It just plain ain’t! Revenge in my hands or yours is just plain ugly. It does more damage than good. It actually brings evil!

Revenge in God’s hands brings justice. Justice – what a beautiful word!

Forgive. Trust in the Lord to make things right in His way, which is higher than ours! The choice to let Him be the judge belongs to you and me. Choose justice!

RR: REDEEM YOUR BLOODLINE – Generational Promises & 14

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022

THE NUMBER FOURTEEN

Generational Promises and the Fear of the Lord

It’s the number that points to or stands as a witness to the Spirit of God moving (7 X 2) and the Spirit made manifest. It has to do with God’s Spirit perfecting something and the drastic measures He will take to make something right. God may be saying, “I warned you of this happening.”

Deliverance and the Promises of God
It was on the 14th day of the month when God kept His 400-plus year promise to bring Israel out of slavery in Egypt. (Exodus 12:6-36)
From one Generation to Another

Matthew 1:17
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

After three sets of 14 generations beginning with Abraham and going through David, Jesus showed up and said, “Ta-da! I told you I would keep my promise.”

I would bet folding money that Matthew knew 14 is the numerical value of the name of David. I think he tied all of that together. I have no idea if he knew the words “hand” and “gold” also have the numerical value of 14.

Now when you think about all the generations it took to keep the promise of the Messiah, think about this. The verb “to bear” and the word “shepherd” are used 14 times in the New Testament. He had to shepherd His people from generation to generation to bear the promises of God.
Finally, the words “forgiveness” and “merciful” are found 14 times in the Bible.

From one Moon to Another
I just can’t help but think about the 14 ascending and downward days of the moon. I think of it in terms of God’s promises to His church since the moon is the image of the bride of Christ. She has no light, but reflects the light of the sun.

From one Suffering to Another
I also can’t help but think about the “Fourteen Stations of the Cross” which depict the suffering of Jesus, which He did after the Passover. Passover begins on the 14th day of the Nisan.

The “Torah of the Lord” – translated “God, the Lord God” – is mentioned 14 times in the books of Chronicles.

The Number 14 and the Fear of the Lord
In the book of Proverbs the expression “the fear of the Lord” occurs 14 times:

The fear of the Lord is when you love what God loves and hate what God hates. It is when you unite your passions with His. There are plenty of promises for those who fear the Lord.

WW: RAPTURE READY? You CAN know the day!

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022

YOU CAN KNOW THE DAY: FEAST OF TRUMPETS!

WHAT IF I TOLD YOU YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO BE PREPARED FOR THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH AND THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB?

Matthew 25:1-13 – “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

Revelation 3:3 –  Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

It is clear that Jesus will not come as a “thief in the night” for watchful believers, because in the very same passage, verse 4, Paul tells us,

1 Thessalonians 5:4 – But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

JESUS DOESN’T WARN US TO SCARE US, BUT TO PREPARE US:

Luke 21:28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

THE LORD ALWAYS GIVES US A WARNING OR HEADS UP OF MAJOR EVENTS IN HIS WORD:

NOAH WAS WARNED OF THE FLOOD 100 YEARS BEFORE THE SPRINGS OF THE DEEP BURST FORTH AND THE RAINS CAME DOWN.

THE ANGELS WARNED LOT THAT DISASTER WAS COMING TO SODOM AND GOMORRAH.

JOSEPH WAS WARNED TO ESCAPE THE WRATH OF HEROD.

WHEN ELIJAH WAS GOING TO BE RAPTURED, THE SCHOOL OF THE PROPHETS KNEW IT. SO DID ELISHA.

Amos 3:7 – God said, “Surely the sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing it to His servants the prophets.”

God said “nothing,” and He did not exclude Christ’s return and the Rapture of the Church.

WHO GETS THE WARNING? GOD’S FRIENDS

Genesis 18:16– Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. 17 And the Lord said, “ Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing , 18 since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him

The RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH AND THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB ARE BY INVITATION ONLY! YOU GOTTA BE A FRIEND OF GOD.

The feasts of the Lord:

The Spring feasts have already been fulfilled. They are:

1. Passover — Pointed to the Messiah as our passover lamb whose blood would be shed for our sins.

2. Unleavened Bread — Pointed to the Messiah’s sinless life, making Him the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

3. First Fruits — Pointed to the Messiah’s resurrection as the first fruits of the righteous.

4. Harvest or Pentecost — (Called Shavuot today) Harvest of Souls and indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Because Jesus literally fulfilled the first four feasts and did so on the actual feast days, I think it is safe to assume that the last three will also be fulfilled on the actual feast days.

Trumpets — (Called Rosh Hashanah today) Points to the Rapture when the Messiah will appear in the heavens as a Bridegroom coming for His bride, the Church. The Rapture is always associated in Scripture with the blowing of a loud trumpet (I Thessalonians 4:13-18 and I Corinthians 15:52)

Atonement — (Called Yom Kippur today) Points to the day of the Second Coming of Jesus when He will return to earth. That will be the day of atonement for the Jewish remnant when they “look upon Him whom they have pierced,” repent of their sins, and receive Him as their Messiah (Zechariah 12:10 and Romans 11:1-6, 25-36).

Tabernacles — (Called Sukkot today) Points to the Lord’s promise that He will once again tabernacle with His people when He returns to reign over all the world from Jerusalem (Micah 4:1-7).

THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS IS LITERALLY CALLED “THE FEAST THAT NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR”

3-Day window for the feast to happenStarts when the High Priest sees the sliver of the New Moon. (What if it’s cloudy, the moon comes up during the day or early in the morning this year?)Priest has to blow the shofar 100 times. Feast starts at the end of the 100th, or last, trumpet.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 – Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.   53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

JESUS FULFILLED THE SPRING FEASTS WITH HIS FIRST COMING TO THE DAY!

WHY WOULDN’T HE FULFILL THE FALL FEASTS WITH HIS SECOND COMING TO THE DAY?

ANOTHER REASON WE CAN KNOW THE DAY, BUT NOT THE HOUR: THE WORLD IS ROUND

24 TIME ZONES & 2 DIFFERENT DAYS AT THE SAME TIME.

When Luke 17 was written, people still believed the earth was flat! King Jesus knew better:

Luke 17:34-37 –  I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 Two women will be grinding together (morning) : the one will be taken and the other left. 36 Two men will be in the field (daytime) : the one will be taken and the other left.” 37 And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

EAGLES ARE THE HIGHEST FLYING BIRDS! HIGHEST ALTITUDES!

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AN EXCLUSIVE EVENT—SELECTIVE RAPTURE FOR THOSE WHO WERE LOOKING FOR IT.

Matthew 24:30-31 – Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet , and they will gather together His elect from the four winds , from one end of heaven to the other.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 – For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

AGAIN, GOD DIDN’T GIVE US THESE SCRIPTURES TO SCARE US BUT PREPARE US. THE PROPHETIC PROMISE OF THE PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH SHOULD BRING YOU GREAT HOPE AND COMFORT.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-9 (The Day of the Lord) – But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief . 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober . 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath , but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ

JESUS IS A GOOD BRIDEGROOM. HE WILL NOT TURN HIS BRIDE OVER TO THE ENEMY TO BE BRUTALIZED BEFORE THE WEDDING!!

Revelation 3:10Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

1. GOD ALWAYS WARNS HIS FRIENDS OF WHAT’S TO COME.

2. HE TELLS US TO BE WATCHFUL BECAUSE HE HAS GIVEN US THE SIGNS OF THE END TIMES IN HIS WORD.

3. BECAUSE OF THIS, WE CAN KNOW THE DAY!!!!

Revelation 4 – After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

YOUR OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in Jesus’ name, the Lord wants to bless my family for generations to come. My walk paves the way for my family. I will stay on the Lord’s path, continually renewing my covenant with Him. I am faithful of the things unseen because they are eternal.

YOUR OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN

Have you lost hope that your kids or grandkids will get saved? Take heart!

My good friend, Pastor Jim Maxwell, preached a sermon called “The Other Side of the Mountain.” In it, he gave an amazing account of a blessing that comes from the heart of King David. That blessing that was inside David, outlived him and went to his kids.

Fifty-six years after David made a special covenant with God, the Bible says that his son, Solomon, who was now king, had turned from the Lord. Now, this was the man God had given everything to – the holy city of Jerusalem, the chosen people, great wisdom and the privilege of building the temple. Solomon had turned away and God was upset!

In 1 Kings 11:12 God tells Solomon, “I ought to kill you and devastate your kingdom, but I will not because of your daddy, David.” That same covenant rang true 27 years later when Solomon’s grandson, Abijah, turned from the Lord, and 315 years after the death of David when God delivered King Hezekiah and Jerusalem from the Assyrians – all because of a covenant with David.

If you remain in covenant with Him, I believe God will do the same thing for you. Stand in the gap for your children and grandchildren. Give eternal life to 1,000 generations. Love Jesus and keep His commands. David’s faith outlived his life. So will yours!

“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” – Deuteronomy 7:9

DIRECTIONALLY CHALLENGED

TODAY’S DECLARATION

I declare in the name of Jesus I am working with the Holy Spirit to position myself where He wants me. It’s time to align with God and the plans and purposes He has for my life!

DIRECTIONALLY CHALLENGED

Some people have a knack for direction. Others are just naturally as lost as a burp in a hurricane. On July 17, 1938, pilot Douglas Corrigan took off from Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field as family and friends watched. He carried with him two chocolate bars, two boxes of fig bars, a quart of water and a U.S. map with the route from New York to California clearly marked out.

His plan was to fly non-stop across the continent in his V8 Curtiss Robin. It was a foggy morning and Corrigan flew into the haze, then disappeared.

Twenty-eight hours later, he successfully landed – in Dublin, Ireland! Yes, he was 3,000 miles in the opposite direction, but instantly became a hero. Despite flying the wrong direction, he accomplished a feat thought impossible at the time. However, he was forever known as “Wrong Way Corrigan.”

I am one of those people who, if you blindfold me then turn me around a bunch of times, I would likely be able to point north once I stopped being dizzy. It’s kind of like a quote I heard in the 1980 movie, “The Mountain Men.” Brian Keith says to Charlton Heston, “No, I never get lost. Fearsome confused for weeks at a time, but I never get lost.”

The bottom line here is that it’s not good to be lost, no matter how you get that way. As your pastor and friend, my prayer is that God will lead you, guide you and direct you into better places. How can He do that? The power of the Holy Spirit, that’s how! He’s your navigation system.

Call on the Holy Spirit when you need clear definition for your forward progression. If you fall out, call out to Him and get back on track. You may be fearsome confused, even going in the opposite direction, but God will make sure you are found.

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? – Luke 15:4

DAYS OF THUNDER: The Thundering Voice

Pastor Adriel Izaguirre

Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022

The Lord has been speaking to many in this room and those watching online for quite some time now.

There has been something stirring up in your spirit.

You’ve been waking up seeing signs, seeing numbers, hearing God speak to you in ways that are strange to you and you don’t know what or why.

But what is really happening is that the Lord is preparing his army. He is preparing His bride. He is preparing his CHURCH.

In continuing with the Days of Thunder series, I need you today to understand that we’re not talking about meteorological events. But rather a shift in the mindset of the body of Christ. A shift that lets us overcome defeat, doubt or any kind of battle we face. A mindset that goes from surviving to thriving.

The days of thunder prophetically speaking represents the day the church fully awakens to it’s true potential.

And when we realize who and what we have within ourselves,

when that day comes, and we all discover that and fully walk in that,

THE DEVIL TREMBLES because we activate heaven on earth.

Because you see God is the lightning and we are his thunder.

When lightning strikes all you see is a flash of light. Beautiful, remarkable yet terrifying at the same time.

But afterward comes the roar of the thunder.

It is the same in the supernatural. God is moving. God is flashing his light everywhere and it’s beautiful, yet scar–not to us but to the hoards of hell.

And at the same time, He is preparing his thundering herd to invade hell. To truly see heaven on earth.

You see, God is moving and it is through the word of your testimony, through your roar, through your voice that creates ripples and walls come down.

Today I’m calling this message “THE THUNDERING VOICE”

We’re gonna be talking about the walls of Jericho and what keys the lord gave them to overcome and win the battle.

JOSHUA 5:13 -15 NLT

13 When Joshua was near the town of Jericho, you see everything you need and want is within REACH he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a sword in hand. Joshua went up to him and demanded, “Are you friend or foe?” 14 “Neither one,” he replied. “I am the commander of the Lord’s army.” At this, Joshua fell with his face to the ground in reverence. “I am at your command,” Joshua said. “What do you want your servant to do?” 15 The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did as he was told.

How many of you want to have the BEST YEAR of your LIFE this year? THE STORY STARTS with JOSHUA SEEING GOD.

You gotta see the Lord as the ONE who leads you—the one who guides you—the one who sustains you—the one who helps you.

Joshua asks “who are you for—us or them?” the answer is that GOD IS FOR GOD— he is for HIS KINGDOM come, HIS WILL being done!

The real question is—ARE YOU FOR GOD??? Are you submitted to God’s WILL??? Are you willing to let GOD LEAD this year?

What strategy did Joshua have? What did he do?

THE KEYS TO WINNING THE BATTLE

1. SURRENDER

GOD was CALLING JOSHUA to SURRENDER before HE SUCCEEDED—–EXODUS 33:11 talks about Moses being in the tent of meeting where he would casually talk to God like someone speaks to a friend. Every time Moses would leave the tent, 1 person remained. Joshua. To seek God in the secret place.

You see, SUCCESS starts in the SECRET PLACE of SURRENDERING to God’s will.

2. SEE

See GOD—see what he sees—see the potential —SEE the VISION — SEE the VICTORY——-YOU HAVE TO SEE IT BEFORE YOU SEIZE IT— GET A VISION OF VICTORY this year!!! GOD WANTS you to SEE what’s POSSIBLE….

Proverbs 29:18  – Without a VISION people PERISH…

The only thing worse than being blind is having SIGHT but not VISION… –Helen Keller

3. SERVE

If you’re too BIG to serve, you’re too small to LEAD

Serve where God has you

Serve where the need is

See the need and meet it

See the hurt and heal it

God has already given us the command…

But we must be ok with small beginnings. Obedience is the true test of faith.

Serving without knowing the outcome.

God is not looking for critics. He’s looking for contributors.

Jesus said: I too did not come to be served. I came to serve.

4. SPEAK

Say what God says,

Say the vision out loud,
Speak it over yourself,

Speak it over others—speak life—speak hope—speak faith—speak victory—speak a language of love

Speak to your mountains

The promises of God are voice activated

5. SURROUND

Proverbs 27:17 – iron sharpens iron

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – two are better than one…

Surround yourself with the right people. Circle Jericho with the right circle of people;

the God-dream needs a God-team

PARACLETE: Greek military term meaning “come alongside”— the word “Paraclete” means Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to come beside the believer to help him accomplish the will of God. So the Holy Spirit is our wing-man! Surround yourself with Holy Spirit people.

People assigned to honor and serve – to help you through the thick and thin of the battle. Your brotherhood, sisterhood, and the Holy Spirit…

Whenever we go into battle, OUR ARENA is where we take our place for everyone to see who are we standing beside,

Who is our band of brothers? Who is helping us???

When you feel like doing fellowship the least, is when you need it the most. Who you surround yourself with determines whether you ever conquer your surroundings.

6. START

THE DIFFERENCE between a DREAM and a GOAL is a DATE—stop procrastinating stop dreaming and thinking about it,

This year I will — start doing it this week— start eating right, start exercising, start that project, start that book, start that goal… whatever it may be.

OUR potential is our GIFT FROM GOD—

Our POSSIBILITIES are God’s GIFT to us—

But WHAT WE DO WITH THAT POTENTIAL is our GIFT BACK TO GOD and to the WORLD.

We have to start. Somewhere. Get your foot through the door. Start in the prayer tent in the corner. Observing, learning. That’s probably not where you want to be. Hidden and silent.

But Joshua learned to obey the Lord by listening, therefore he found his potential in the secret place.

7. STICK WITH IT

Stay steady— stay consistent

Consistency brings the breakthrough

Keep circling Jericho til the walls fall down

Stay in the gym, stay in the word, stay in church, stay in the right thing

Sell out to your seed— sell out to your soil— stick to your strategy

Most people don’t see the breakthrough because they give up on their soil too soon, they give up on the process— they want a massive harvest, a giant fruit.

Stick with the process.

Now I’ve told you these 7 keys to Joshua’s victory that can lead to your victory.

You see, the Israelites had seen battle before and experienced victory time and time again.

But this was a different battle. They were not gonna win the battle of Jericho with strength and might– with sword and stones.

They were gonna win with their obedience to God and their thunderous voice.

But I’m not gonna say more.

I want to take you back to that incredible time. Where ones obedience ended in victory.

Joshua 6:1-20;27 (The Fall of Jericho) Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or in. 2 But the Lord said to Joshua, “I have given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong warriors. 3 You and your fighting men should march around the town once a day for six days. 4 Seven priests will walk ahead of the Ark, each carrying a ram’s horn. On the seventh day you are to march around the town seven times, with the priests blowing the horns. 5 When you hear the priests give one long blast on the rams’ horns, have all the people shout as loud as they can. Then the walls of the town will collapse, and the people can charge straight into the t

6 So Joshua called together the priests and said, “Take up the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, and assign seven priests to walk in front of it, each carrying a ram’s horn.” 7 Then he gave orders to the people: “March around the town, and the armed men will lead the way in front of the Ark of the Lord.” 8 After Joshua spoke to the people, the seven priests with the rams’ horns started marching in the presence of the Lord, blowing the horns as they marched. And the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant followed behind them.

9 Some of the armed men marched in front of the priests with the horns and some behind the Ark, with the priests continually blowing the horns. 10 “Do not shout; do not even talk,” Joshua commanded. “Not a single word from any of you until I tell you to shout. Then shout!” 11 So the Ark of the Lord was carried around the town once that day, and then everyone returned to spend the night in the camp. 12 Joshua got up early the next morning, and the priests again carried the Ark of the Lord. 13 The seven priests with the rams’ horns marched in front of the Ark of the Lord, blowing their horns. Again the armed men marched both in front of the priests with the horns and behind the Ark of the Lord. All this time the priests were blowing their horns.

14 On the second day they again marched around the town once and returned to the camp. They followed this pattern for six days. 15 On the seventh day the Israelites got up at dawn and marched around the town as they had done before. But this time they went around the town seven times. 16 The seventh time around, as the priests sounded the long blast on their horns, Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the town!”

20 When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it.

27 So the Lord was with Joshua, and his reputation spread throughout the land.
