THE LEGACY OF SAN JACINTO
I declare in Jesus’ name the Lord has given me a strategy for life. I will walk it out and fight for what He’s given to me. I will not let the enemy take ground. I fight from the victory Christ died to give me!
THE LEGACY OF SAN JACINTOSome battles are so strategically important that the direction of the future itself hinges on that single event. San Jacinto was that kind of battle.
Not only did Sam Houston’s decisive victory at San Jacinto establish Texas independence, it led to the Mexican-American War. Victory there resulted in America’s acquisition of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Yes, one-third of present-day America eventually changed sovereignty all because Houston and a handful of true Texas patriots – not even trained soldiers – dared to defeat the tyrant Santa Anna on April 21,1836.
There’s a word of redemption in that. You see, there is a reason why people in Fort Worth, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles and Albuquerque don’t have to live like our neighbors to the south in Matamoros, Juarez and Tijuana. Someone paid the price for that freedom.
I wonder if you know how important it is that you win the battles you’re fighting in your life? Unseen spiritual battles are being fought in brutal mental and emotional arenas in your life. Jesus has given you the ability to defeat the enemy because there’s a lot more at stake here than you probably think.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ… – 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
As a Christian, you have to fight in order to occupy your territory – your marriage, emotions, finances, ministry, children, job – and to have victory in the territory God has given you. Your fight is first spiritual, and get this – the majority of the battlefield is between your ears!
The Lord has given you mighty weapons of warfare – the Words of Scripture. They are powerful and able to bring your thoughts under control. Along with prayer and the Holy Spirit, they break down the mightiest stronghold and make you dangerous to the enemy!

A sign is something that proclaims a prophetic message.A season is a prophetic appointed time. The promise of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ is a prophetic promise.One internationally recognized and undisputed way God speaks prophetically is through astrological events.Psalm 19:1-3 – The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
FIRMAMENT: God created the sun, the moon and the stars, and positioned them with our perspective in mind was literally for prophetic signs to tell us when we are entering into a new prophetic season.Genesis 1:14 – Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons , and for days and years…

LIBRA: He will be a Redeemer.

LEO: He will rule and reign supreme throughout the universe.
STOP AND LOOK AT END TIMES PROPHECY:
Matthew 24:30 – They will see the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.Luke 21:27-28 – “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”The Sign of the Messiah
Isaiah 7:13-14 – Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
So keep all of that information on the stove. Let’s turn our attention to Revelation chapter 12

In Matthew 24:4-8, Birth pain is a prophetic term for Jesus coming back.

See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.” —Matthew 24:4-8
The phrase “the beginning of birth pangs” is a translation of the Greek as “the beginning of sorrows” is a direct reference to preliminary birth pangs that ultimately lead to the full scale contractions and travail, which leads to the actual birth.The most glorious thing that can happen is when you have a baby. But it’s painful, messy and scary. Just like that, the best and most glorious thing that can possibly happen – THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST TO RULE AND REIGN THE EARTH ON THIS EARTH – is going to happen. But the events that precede it will be painful, messy, scary birth pains. In verse 5, “the Child is Caught Up” The Latin word is “raptured.He is the first born of many brethren. He has made us to be co- heirs with him which means:Romans 8:17 …and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.Everything he’s been given by the father He also gives to us. When Israel is having birth pangs, it means the time of the gentiles has been fulfilled and the time for Jerusalem to rise and receive her messiah has come.
Luke 21:24 – And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. RENT TO OWN
I declare in Jesus’ name that God’s grace is sufficient for me. Out with the old and in with the new. God is giving me a fresh start today and I will give Him all the glory.
RENT TO OWNNearly 30 years ago, I worked for a rent to own company. One of my major responsibilities was to be the repo man for the low income housing projects.
Even though I had been called every racial slur and hateful name you can imagine, even though I had personally removed TVs, refrigerators and all manner of home appliance out of people’s homes, I saw a tremendous revival in those dark and desperate places.
It broke my heart to haul that stuff away from people who needed it, so Leanna and I started a ministry to combat good with evil. We bought refurbished appliances and every time I would repo something in the name of the company, we could return later in the evening with a used one and give it to them in the name of Jesus.
The same people who threatened my life earlier in the day, would weep, apologize and thank God for His goodness.
Because of this, they would attend the Bible studies and kids events we put on there. As a matter of fact, Leanna and I did a kids crusade in the projects and, in one day, we baptized 100 people in the same place where folks had thrown bottles at me and cussed me like a dog.
Not only will the goodness of God lead to repentance (Romans 2:4), it always teaches us something true about His ways. The outcome of goodness is transformation because goodness says things need to change for the better. That’s called redemption!
Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore will He teach sinners in the way. – Psalm 25:8

BRAIN FREEZE
I declare in Jesus’ name today I let go of offenses and offer up forgiveness. When negative situations come to your mind, I will let go and let God deliver me from the offense. I declare freedom from offense for me and for them today!
BRAIN FREEZEA few years back, I was in a 7-11 with a missionary from Africa. It was his very first visit to the U.S. and upon seeing a poster advertising the holy grail of American beverages, the Slurpee, he asked, “What is a brain freeze?”
Jumping all over the opportunity, I bought one and said, “Drink this as fast as you can for about 15 seconds.” Twenty seconds later, he dropped the drink on the ground and clutched his head, vowing revenge. Sounds terrible, but it was a real hoot!
I say all this to tell you that there is a spiritual and mental exercise that I call “brain freeze.” Brain freeze is where you stop a thought dead in its tracks before it becomes something else.
In reality, you need some serious truth pertaining to your thinking. Why? Because your thoughts become your feelings and your feelings generally become your actions. Thinking negative thoughts? Your feelings and actions will reflect that.
Want an example? Have you ever prepared for an argument before it happened? I know I’ve rehearsed in my mind what I would say if the opportunity arose to tell off my boss or someone else who had offended me. I was going to give that person a “piece of my mind.”
The next thing I knew, that conversation became reality and it didn’t go well for me. Why? Because by thinking the thought, it became a feeling, then an action. I had made that argument happen – an argument I should have never had.
Had I frozen the initial thought that I was offended and wanted to tell that person off, I would have saved myself and my victim from some real heartache and a broken relationship.
You can also think of it this way: God has drawn a line in the sand and called it “sin.” You and I tend to get as close to that line as we can, often putting our toes right on it while we say, “I’m not sinning, yet. I’m good.” The question that needs to be asked is, “Why are you even close to the line? Why aren’t you a mile away from it?”
It’s like that with our thoughts. We take them right up to the line where they become actions, then act all shocked and shaken that we’ve crossed that line. There’s a reason we say we’ve “fallen into” sin, because our emotions have pushed us over the edge into action. We do it to ourselves by letting our imagination run wild!
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; – 2 Corinthians 10:5
Next time you start imagining a scenario or practicing the words you will say in a confrontation, stop. Brain freeze! Take that thought captive and cast it down before it becomes a feeling or an action, likely one that leads to sin.

WHAT IF?
I declare in Jesus’ name He is the answer to all my questions. Yeshua is turning my mind upside down to give me a fresh perspective. I will find Him in the places I never expected today!
WHAT IF?What if you didn’t need a disaster to run to the presence of God? What if, right now, you began to thirst after a powerful, intimate experience with God? What if you and I, right now, cranked up the value we have for hearing God speak?
What if you let your experience with God during tough times you’ve already gone through teach you that, in Jesus Christ, you have life, and you will never find it elsewhere?
What if you put your complete dependency in Him right now, no matter how blessed you are? What if you were just as desperate for Him today as you were in any time you were devastated by a terrible circumstance?
The power and manifest presence of God would show up the same way in your Promised Land as He does in your wilderness, that’s what! Only it would be better because the whole thing would be initiated by your longing for Him instead of a reaction to a painful circumstance.
If you and I could manage that, I promise you, there would be answered prayers like we have never seen and supernatural breakthrough like we have never experienced. Chase after God in good times, not just during trials.
I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. – Psalms 34: 1-5

ISABELLA AND THE PRICE OF FREEDOM
I declare in Jesus’ name there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I will stop letting the enemy tell me who I am not. My identity is in Christ! He says I am more than a conqueror because I love Him.
ISABELLA AND THE PRICE OF FREEDOMAt the age of 18, I was graduating high school and life was full of friends, music and hope for the future. That same year, Isabella turned 18 and was sold into sexual slavery to pay her family’s debts to the Mexican drug cartels. She entered into a life of hopelessness.
By the time we met, we were both 36. No longer young and beautiful, she had been thrown into the trash, literally, by her pimps. Forced to scavenge for anything of value her bosses could sell, Isabella spent her days and nights in a toxic, festering, stinking environment enslaved in every way.
We met when I took a mission team to the trash dumps of Matamoros. Upon learning her story, I asked a local pastor what it could cost to buy her freedom. He asked Isabella’s bosses how much a human being cost. The answer? A scant $631.
We set Isabella free that day. She was free to find her family – free to live wherever she wanted. My heart soared and I felt like the most privileged person on the planet to be part of setting someone free from the evil of slavery. I had visions of her happiness.
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. – John 8:36
But Isabella wasn’t free. Knowing only physical, mental and emotional slavery her entire adult life, she was unable to muster the strength to leave the trash dump. She was still there four years later, of her own free will, gathering cardboard along with her husband and child. “Forgive me,” she said. “I don’t know how to live out there. I only know how to live here.”
Because of the mercy given me by Jesus Christ, I was able to hug her and encourage her. Yes, I was disappointed she decided to stay in the dump, but I see many of us in her.
Despite the freedom Christ gives us when we get saved, we remain in our trash heaps – unhealthy relationships, addictions, negative thought patterns, violent behaviors and other things we need to put in our past. It’s hard to see yourself as clean and set free when, on the inside, you feel filthy and tied up.
But, hear me on this: you are clean! You are free! You are now righteous in the sight of God despite not having everything together!
And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. – Romans 6:18
Should you work toward getting out of your personal trash dump? Yes. Isabella did. She eventually left and I know I will see her in Heaven to get the rest of the story. What about you?

Matthew 16:13–20 describes a conversation between Jesus and the disciples about His identity. It takes place about 25 miles north of the Sea of Galilee in the district of Caesarea Philippi.
Jesus asks who the people say He is and then asks who the disciples say He is. Peter says Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus says this declaration of faith will be the rock on which He will build His church.
Caesarea Philippi was a town built by Phillip–the the son of Herod the Great and Cleopatra. This is the same Phillip (called Herod) who was married to Salome. Salome conned his brother into decapitating and killing John the Baptist.
So he’s a bad guy. He builds a temple to worship Caesar and that place is called Caesarea Philippi. The place where you worship Caesar that was built by this ruler called Phillip.
The reason Philip built a temple to worship Caesar there is because it was a place for Pagan worship. Pan was said to live there in this giant cave that Pan worshippers called his grotto, but the locals called it “The Gates of Hell.” All kinds of terrible sacrifice happened there. Pan was said to come out of the gates of hell, this giant cave. He was half man and half goat, and he terrorized everybody. It’s where we get the word “panic” and “pandemic” from.
So, imagine Jesus taking his disciples to this terribly offensive and scary place to have a chat.
Matthew 16:13-25
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
What you’re going to find out in Matthew 16 is that Jesus holds us responsible for what we believe to be true.
14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
The general theme of opinion was based upon the idea that the Messiah would be a conquering King.
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection
21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
When you walk with Jesus, He’s going to confront you on your anti-kingdom agendas.
What you believe is tied into your agenda. Though Peter believed the Father that Jesus was the Messiah and the Christ, he refused to believe that Jesus would suffer and die. He wanted Jesus to be a conquering King and wipe out Rome.
Jesus calls him the devil and gives him a blistering rebuke.
“Don’t try to talk me into a different agenda than God’s agenda. Don’t try and conform me to the opinion of men,” is what Jesus is saying here.
You can’t be the friend of my flesh if you are not going to be the friend to my spirit and my soul.
David was a man after God’s own heart…
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
His will be done. His Kingdom come.
Self-awareness. Confronting your own non-kingdom agendas.
Hearing God speak and having a “yes” in your spirit.
It is one thing for God to give you the plan. It’s a whole other thing for you to conform your life to
the image of God’s plan.

A BEAUTIFUL MIND
I declare in Jesus’ name I have the mind of Christ and the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. I have control of what I think about. I will compare my thoughts to God’s Word and throw out anything that doesn’t align.
A BEAUTIFUL MINDIn every courtroom drama, the central figure is the judge. He is the one who determines whether to allow testimony or evidence into the record of a legal case.
Often, the prosecutor wants to throw out part of a witness’ testimony as the defense attorney argues why the jury should be allowed to consider it. At that point, everyone looks toward the judge waiting for him to say “I will allow it” or “objection overruled.”
If you are going to have a mind the Holy Spirit can really work with, you have first got to learn how to judge your thoughts. Judgment is not just the ability to discern what’s good and what’s not good in your thought life. Judgment is determining what you will allow and what you will not allow your mind to think about.
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. – 1 Corinthians 11:31
Do you have mental boundaries set up by the Holy Spirit concerning the thoughts you entertain? What about the movies and TV shows you watch, the music you listen to, the websites you visit and the company you keep? Are you acting as judge over them?
If so, you are fast becoming a faithful steward, and well on your way to fully serving God in your mind.
I have a friend who doesn’t watch horror movies or anything that portrays evil as powerful. Why? She says she refuses to put evil in her head because there is no way to get it out. You know what? She’s right. We need to be very selective when it comes to the thoughts we put in our mind.
What about you? Are you ready to give up futile thinking and entertainment that does not glorify God to have a beautiful, clear, Godly mind? I am!
