You’re Welcome!
Now the Lord gave me knowledge of it, and I know it, for You showed me their doings. – Jeremiah 11:18
King Jesus is so good! Not only does He see what is happening behind closed doors, He reveals it to us. There is no reason to be fearful of all you hear on the news. It’s bad, but Jesus is ahead of it. The devil is the one who is afraid.
Declaration: I will count on the word of God and will live by faith, not by headlines.
You’re Welcome! In an incredible way, the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is not just that Jesus Christ died on a cross so that you can be saved. That’s wonderful, and we have to believe in that, but it’s actually so incomplete. You have to understand the rest of the story.
Jesus Christ died on the cross so you can be saved, yes. But the big deal is He rose again and invited you to know God as Father. Did you hear that? Father! That makes you a son or a daughter. Not a servant. Not as a slave or a citizen. You have a seat at the table.
My friend, you actually have a place in His house, so much so that Jesus said, “Because of me, when you come before the Lord, I don’t want you to come before Him any kinda religious way whatsoever. I want you to come to Him through me, and once you come through me, this is how it works: ‘Dad, I’m home.'”
“Wait! What? You can’t just walk in God’s house and declare that you’re home.”
Yeah, you can. God Almighty is so happy to be a Father–a Dad. You have to understand, you don’t need to be afraid to ask Him for things because a good daddy is a good provider. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and that means those cattle belong to you too.
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. – Romans 8:17
First Jesus comes and introduces God as a Father and people are blown away. Then He does the unthinkable and says, “I’m your big brother. I want to share my inheritance with you. Everything the Father owns is mine and I’m happy to share it with you.”
One of those things is a seat at the table–the family table. Have you seen chair? Pull it up and sit down. You’re invited and empowered to know God as Father today. You’re welcome!

The Way, the Truth and the Life
We give You thanks, O lord God almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned. – Revelation 11:17
This is the end of story. Jesus wins! We win! We know how the story ends, which is the starting place for us. We advance the Kingdom and fight the good fight from victory. Hallelujah!
Declaration: Victory in mine in Christ Jesus. He reigns and rules over all my circumstances. I will not fear.
The Way, the Truth and the LifeJesus said, “When you see me, you see the Father.” You and I know the scriptures, and I love this scripture:
“I am the way, I am the truth, and I am the life.” – John 14:6
Many times we Evangelicals just stop right there, but it’s incomplete. The rest of what he said is this: “No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The whole point of Jesus being the way is He’s the way to the Father. The whole point of Him being the truth is so the Father can be known. The whole point of Him being the life is that the Father can be experienced. It’s all about the Father. You must know Him as the Son and His Father as Daddy as in, “That’s my Dad and He loves me.”
And here’s the deal: in a family situation, it’s not about if you’re messed up or not. I know that’s an odd thing to say in this generation where every family gives all these ultimatums and says, “You do this and you’re out. You do that, you’re out.” That’s not the way it works in family.
“But Pastor Troy, it works that way with my family because we’re all messed up.”
Let me just tell you something: The most blessed family in the world is messed up. I don’t have to know you to know your family is whack. Every family is jacked up. Every. Single. One.
I promise you, God Almighty doesn’t ask you to filter your family through a perfect system that says, “Everything has to be perfect for me to love and accept these people.” Why not? Because that’s not how He operates so it’s not how you operate.
You have to be able to understand God Almighty is your Father. He doesn’t demand everything be perfect for you to be His child. Do you understand that? God doesn’t want the perfect son. He wants YOU–just the way you are. That’s the Way it is and that’s the Truth of the matter so experience the life He’s given to you by knowing Him as Father today.

Putting a Face to the Father
Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ – Acts 11:16
Prophetic acts are crazy cool and don’t go unnoticed in heaven. John’s baptisms were a foreshadow of what was to come– the power of the Holy Spirit. There is nothing like it. It’s an upgrade. Ask the Lord for more. He will not disappoint.
Declaration: I will seek the Lord and all He has for me. I will walk in the full power of the Holy Spirit.
Putting a Face to the FatherTwo of the most important questions you’ve got to answer are: Who is the Father to me? And who am I to the Father?
I’ve found I have to live in that constant perspective of who the Father looks like to me and who I look like to Him. That’s what relationship is all about. The only way we can have right relationship with the Father is through the Lord Jesus Christ–the Son. When Jesus came, He came to put a face on the Father. Why?
Because people didn’t see God as a Father. They saw him as God Almighty and Lord, but they missed the sweet side of Him because they were thick skulled and hard hearted. They brought mostly judgment and discipline onto themselves. Rather than take responsibility for their actions, they blamed God for their failures.
See, God showed His Father’s heart through the prophets. He did! He always gave the people a choice, just like any good daddy would. “Do you want to touch the hot stove or do you want to follow me to safety?” For some reason, the people touched the hot stove and blamed the Lord when they got burned.
Jesus, showing the compassion and long-suffering of the Father, came as a Son to demonstrate the love of His Heavenly Father. Being the face of the Father is all about having the Father’s heart toward other people. Jesus did it so well, but what about me? What about you?
Do we act like we have a good daddy in Heaven or do we act like we’ve been rolling act like we’ve been rolling around in hell? Even if you have a poor example as an earthly father, you know what a good father looks like and you can demonstrate him to others. You can.
Today, know your heavenly Daddy loves you and is proud of you. He’s not mad at you. Act like it and watch your words and actions change things in the lives around you. He’s a good, good Father. You are proof of it!
If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? – Luke 11:11

Let Me Introduce You
As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. – Joshua 11:15
Are you willing to build on the foundation someone else laid? If you are about building the Kingdom of God and not your own empire, you must be humble. Do not knock down what others have done.
Declaration: I will walk in humble obedience and seek the Lord on how to move forward.
Let Me Introduce You…When you find Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, what you don’t find is Jesus.
“But Pastor Troy, I think I know exactly what Jesus looks like and acts like,” even though out of 31,171 verses in the King James Bible there’s not one single description of Jesus except that He had a beard. We know that because they plucked it out at the cross.
Think about it: there’s no physical description of the Lord Jesus in scripture. If He’s the central figure of the Word of God and all the scriptures do testify of him, why in the world would He not tell us what He looks like?
Because Jesus is supposed to look like people taking in orphans. Jesus is supposed to look like
a widow being supported, hungry people being fed, folks being healed and set free from all manner of madness. You cannot define him to a race, a generation, or a certain look.
Nope. You don’t find a single description of King Jesus in the Word. What you do find is an incredible description of the Father through King Jesus. The mystery of Fatherhood is really what He came to reveal. That’s why He came as the Son.
He didn’t have to, you know. He could have come as High Priest, King, General, CEO, Grand Poobah or any manner of earthly authority. He came as a Son because He spent eternity in the presence of the Father and knew His heart so deeply, He just had to reveal it to us. Lost, broken, rebellious mankind.
Is Jesus upset you can only see the Father through Him and not see Him? No. Knowing God as a good father is so important that Christ laid down His own agenda and identity to demonstrate His Word, will and ways. He’s bragging, “My dad’s the best and the strongest. You really need to know Him the way I know Him.”
What about you? Do you know God as a good Father–your Daddy and Abba? If you do, demonstrate Him today. If you don’t, let me introduce you: Child, here is your Everlasting Daddy and He’s a good, good Father.
He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? – John 14:9

Heaven’s Mic Drop
By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. – Proverbs 11:14
Who are you surrounded by? Partner with those going the same direction God is calling you and see advancement in your life. Be in alignment for your assignment. Don’t let others slow you down or pull you off course.
Declaration: I will do life with those who are advancing the Kingdom. I walk with sold- out Jesus freaks.
Heaven’s Mic DropWe are going to be looking at the Lord’s prayer today. Why? Because when Jesus came on the scene, he showed us a different approach to God Almighty than anybody had ever seen before.
See, the Lord first revealed Himself as Yahweh, then through Moses, He revealed himself as Jehovah, and that was wonderful. For 1,400 years, people had known him like that.
He was a God of gods. He was the ultimate Creator.
He was amazing. He was powerful. He had a big time set of rules.
He expected allegiance, loyalty, and He wanted His people to live with Him and according to Him.
Then Jesus Christ comes onto the scene 42 generations later. He steps up and says, “Now, I’m gonna show you how you’re supposed to approach God. It works like this:”
In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. – John 6:8-13
Let me tell you, that sermon was a mic drop. The people must have been like, “God is a Father? Like, an Abba, a daddy? Who is this guy and how does he know God like this?”
I’m telling you, Jesus was a revolutionary for just that one revelation. God as Father. It’s the reason there is BC and AD! The people had to be intrigued. They had to be wanting to know God the way Jesus knew God.
Do you see God Almighty like that–as an Abba full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control? Today is a good day to be a revolutionary. Decide you want to know God as Father just as Jesus, the Son, knew God as Father.

I KEEP LOSING MY GLASSES
Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022
Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
4 major prophets
4 Gospels
12 minor prophets
12 disciples
Jeremiah (c. 650 – c. 570 BC), also called the “weeping prophet,” was one of the major prophets of the Hebrew Bible.
According to Jewish tradition, Jeremiah authored the Book of Jeremiah, the Books of 1 and 2nd Kings, and the Book of Lamentations, with the assistance and editorship of Baruch ben Neriah, his scribe and disciple.
Jeremiah 1:1-3
The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,
2 to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. 3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
This first introduction gives the historical setting of when all this happened. Jeremiah’s amazing ministry took place during the reign of three different kings.
624 BC
Josiah was a good king but the following two were not. It was actually in Josiah’s 13th year that he began to turn a different direction that would cost Israel everything and lead to the untimely death of this other wise good man.
The number 13 is attached to spiritual rebellion. If you really want to see rebellion illustrated Biblically through the number 13, you need look no further than the 13 words in the 13th verse of the 13th chapter of the very first book in the Bible:
Genesis 13:13
But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
The word “rebel” is found in 13 verses throughout the Bible. I think it is worth noting that Nimrod, a name that means “rebel” – the founder of Babylon and all world religions – is the 13th descendant from Adam.
The next greatest example of thirteen illustrating rebellion would be in Mark chapter 7. There are the 13 rebellious things that proceed from the heart of man:
Judas Iscariot has 13 letters
There are 13 lepers and drunks in the Bible
The word “carnal” appears 13 times
The word “treason” appears 13 times
The word “dragon” appears 13 times IN REVELATION
Jeremiah 1:4-10
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
6 Then said I:“Ah, Lord God!
Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”
7 But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’
For you shall go to all to whom I send you,
And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
8 Do not be afraid of their faces,
For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:
“Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down,To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-3
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
I can find these first 8 seasons in the 80 years of his life
So remember God told Jeremiah in Vrs 5
Jeremiah 1:5-7
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
6 Then said I: “Ah, Lord God!
Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”
7 But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’
For you shall go to all to whom I send you,
And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
God starts off Jeremiah’s ministry.
Embracing harmful mindsets and learning to let go of them
Imposter syndrome
SELF DOUBT & IMPOSTER SYNDROME
Understand you are growing and have a yes in your spirit for the things God brings you – even scary things.
If God says I can do it, I can do it. If God brings me the opportunity I can own it. If The Lord tell me this is who I am, then I have to conform my life to the image of who He says I am.
We have to replace our eye of “us” with God’s eye of us
People who can’t do this tend to be what the Bible calls lukewarm. That’s why Jesus tells the lukewarm church Laodicia, that needed a new view.
Revelation 3:18
“anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
Anointed eyes = heavenly vision and Godly perspective
The eye of the world will cause you to be blind to heavenly things. Jesus can cure our blindness with an anointed eye. When Heaven invades your perspective.
When the blind man was healed by Jesus and they asked him how
John 9:10
Therefore said they unto him, “How were thine eyes opened?” He answered and said, “A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes…”
When we see with anointed eyes, we begin to see ourselves the way Jesus sees us. There a phrase in the Bible for that:
THE APPLE OF GOD’S EYE
Deuteronomy 32:10; Psalm 17:8; Zechariah 2:8
The pupil of your eye
Your reflection in the pupil of His eye
You can partner with a view, a lens or a perspective that will cause you to lose your loyalty to Jesus.
In Luke chapter 9, the disciples wanted to call down fire from heaven
Moses wasn’t allowed to enter into the Promised Land for partnering with a spirit of wrath.
I HAVE HAD A BIG PROBLEM WITH IMPOSTER SYNDROME, BUT I LEARNED TO DROP THOSE GLASSES AND SEE THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS.
And I learned to lose this lens buy laying down the lens of comparing my elf to others. Comparison kills, my friends.
GOD’S ANTIDOTE TO COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS:
OWN YOUR OWN STORY AND BE AUTHENTIC.
BE CONVINCED GOD LOVES YOU AS YOU.
2 Corinthians 10:12 Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.
PEOPLE PLEASING
Set boundaries and insist on being real about what works and what doesn’t work
BOUNDARY LINES ARE NOT MEANT KEEP PEOPLE OUT. THAT’S WHAT FENCES AND WALLS ON BONDARY LINES ARE FOR.
A state line doesn’t keep the other state out. That would be silly to tell California, “You are rude for keeping Nevada out.” It’s easy to recognize that’s a silly notion because the boundary lines simply designate what state is which. So, boundaries aren’t aggressive or designed to keep people out. Instead, they are self-definitions.
PEOPLE PLEASING
Set boundaries and insist on being real about what works and what doesn’t work
Proverbs 25:17 – “Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor’s house, lest he have his fill of you and hate you.”
This one can’t get any more clear. If you think showing up at your neighbor’s house unannounced and uninvited is your right as a member of the Christian community, the Bible says otherwise. It actually implies that if you overstep your neighbor’s boundaries, then he will hate you, and it will be your fault! That’s a clear example of living in healthy boundaries.
Or Proverbs 26:4 says, “Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself.” This one is a little more nuanced. Many Christians feel the need to engage anyone who talks to or approaches them.
SO LOSE THE LENS OF PEOPLE PLEASING AND SET VERY CLEAR BOUNDARIES IN EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE.
PERFECTIONISM: COMPLETE THINGS
2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him
I HAVE HAD TO LEARN TO CELEBRATE THE WINS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT OVER THE WINS OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS FLAWLESS.
I HAVE HAD TO LEARN TO GET RID OF THE LENS OF…
THE LENS OF LUST
THE LENS OF POVERTY
THE LENS OF HISTORY

Father Figure
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embrace them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. – Hebrew 11:13
This is a good day to be alive! Though we see prophecy fulfilled, this is not our home. We know all promises of God will come to pass. Take heart. Don’t get weary. The promises of God are “yes” and “amen” for you and your generations.
Declarations: Time is precious. I will make the most of it. I will not lose faith but trust Jesus to work all things for my good.
Father FigureFrom generation to generation, the model of fatherhood is God the Father. He actually wants to model fatherhood and He’s asked you to be His child.
He has not invited angels to be his children. He has commanded angels to be his servants. He’s asked you to be his child–part of His family.
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named – Ephesians 3:14-15
When I looked at this, I knew every single form of fatherhood on earth is modeled after something in heaven, because fatherhood is God’s idea. That includes your father and your father’s father.
The problem with having a father or father figure on this earth is that every person is messed up. Many of us didn’t have a good father. Some of us didn’t have a father at all. If this is you, I’m sure it’s hard for you to see God Almighty as a father. He may be hard to connect to or to understand.
If you’re having trouble connecting to the Father side of God, you’re not alone. Not once in the Old Testament did anyone call God Father. It took Jesus coming as the Son and acting like the Father for people to get it.
So read the red letters in your Bible. Find Jesus and when you do, you’ll start to see the Father and He is good. And let your past go. That father who let your down or worse? Forgive Him. Do not let your past or his keep you from all that your Good Father in Heaven has for you.
The post Father Figure appeared first on Troy Brewer Ministries.
The Family Name
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. – Matthew 11:12
The kingdom of God is always advancing, moving forward with the force of strength. King Jesus is calling His children to be progressive just as His Kingdom is. He calls you to advance from victory to victory for His glory.
Declaration: I live a transformational life. I’m not afraid of change and growth. God is upgrading me to new arenas
The Family NameThis whole heavenly concept of fatherhood is amazing. I was thinking about it the other day and this scripture hit me upside the head:
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father from whom every family in heaven and upon earth is named.” – Ephesians 3:14
The word “father” here is Greek word where we get the word “pa.” Here is the south, calling someone “pa” is a bid deal. My great grandfather was “Pa.”
We all understand it’s where we get the word “patriarch” from. It’s where we get the word “patriot,” which is a really big deal in the day we’re living in. I’m a patriot. There’s nothing woke about me, promise you that. That fad is gonna come and go same as sagging pants.
What does the word patriot means? If you’re a patriot, you are loyal to the founding fathers just like “patriarch” is literally the word for those founding fathers. Abraham was the “patriarch” of the Jewish people, right? That’s why it has the word pa in it.
So we have this word that “every family in heaven and upon earth is named.” That’s the word “patria,” and what is that? The King James boys translated it as the word family, and that’s a good translation, but let me give you a better translation: fatherhood.
It says, “I bow my knee to the Father, whom every fatherhood in heaven and upon earth is named after.” Every family. Yours. Mine. It’s the Kingdom concept of what a good father looks like. Can you partner with it for a change in your own life and family today?

The Pattern of the Word
By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. – Hebrews 11:11
Here’s what’s real: what you believe changes everything. Can you believe for the impossible for someone else, but not for your life? The God of the impossible lives in you. That’s good news. Believe! It will change your life.
Declaration: The blessing that is in me is bigger than me. I believe and receive all God’s promises for me and my family.
The Pattern of the WordThe Bible is entirely knit together in one story. When Jesus finished his work on the cross, he reconciled the whole world to himself, removing all the hostility between humanity and God while we were still his enemies. This is how radical Jesus is towards us.
“…For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life…” – Romans 5:6-11
Can you believe this? Don’t you love how God Almighty has proved over and over and over that he’s actually breathed upon the Word of God? This pattern is all the way through the Word of God.
From the beginning, he has intervened on humanity’s behalf. From the beginning, he chased down his own enemies to redeem them.
Separated from him, we die. Regrafted into him, abiding in him, we live.
Once there were these devil-worshippers who discovered this little conservative church was hosting one of my Numbers conferences. They called up and asked permission to come, and I wanted to do more than just say yes. We treated them like kings. Now, they expected that coming in a group of thirteen would intimidate me because they believed that I believed the power was in the numbers.
But, no, the power is in Jesus.
No matter what your blasphemy and sin, God already reconciled with you and you just needed to accept that free gift of life and repent. Understand, friend, that once you do that, you’re back from the dead and part of the family of God.
The flesh must be killed. Let’s work to keep up with the Spirit and not follow old ways opposed to him.
From beginning to end, the Word of God that goes out never returns void. The breathed-upon word of God is knit together in a tremendous pattern. He constantly intervenes and ultimately has reconciled. And he redeems every single part of our timeline.
“… justified by faith, we have peace with God… – Romans 5:1&2; Ephesians 2:2-6

The Spirit Stamp
TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER
“And in that day, there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting place shall be glorious.” – Isaiah 11:10
Jesus raised a banner of salvation over all the world. Do you have an eye to see and ear to hear? His banner is still flying high, announcing the Kingdom to come. It declares victory for all who call on His name. Step under the banner and let it remind you whose you are.
Declaration: I’m a kingdom advancer. I do not look back but move forward under the banner of my King.
The Spirit StampWhenever the Spirit does a work in the midst of humanity, He likes to stamp the number six on it. Ro-mans is all about the the mess of humanity and the seasonal nature of God’s intervention and our response to it.
King Jesus created time, space, and matter. He’s older than time itself. He stamped us with His Spirit when He put breath on us in the Garden, and He’s been doing that ever since.
“ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. – Colossians 1:15-16
God speaks and there is light.
God breathes and his Spirit enters us; and all the families of the earth are made in his image.
God clothes Adam and Eve with animal skins, promising a future Messiah who will smash the head of the snake.
God’s hand shuts Noah’s door on the ark.
God’s word stamps Abraham and his descendants as a blessing to the nations.
God’s presence rescues Israel from pharaoh.
God’s Spirit empowered the judges and the prophets.
He just can’t leave us in the mess or abandon His promises. Jesus lived, died, and resurrected as the human Son of David so that He could reconcile a hostile humanity to Himself. Do you know someone hostile to Jesus? Pray for them. Love them. Let them see he’s not mad at them. You could be the only Jesus they ever see!
“…we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.” – Romans 5:11
