In or Out of Season

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER

Deuteronomy 11:26 – Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse

The Lord’s desire is always to bless. He blessed all His creation from the beginning. We get to partner with Him in being a blessing to others and enjoying the blessings He has for His children. Walk in His blessing. Speak His blessing. Jesus took the curse upon himself so you can be blessed. Don’t take it for granted.

Declaration: I’m a life-breather. I speak life. I declare love and self-control over my thoughts, words, and actions.

IN OR OUT OF SEASON

The Boy Scouts motto is “Be prepared” and let me tell you, it’s a Kingdom motto whether the Boy Scouts meant it to be or not. It means you should always be in a state of readiness to do your duty in both mind and body.

Paul was a big fan of being prepared because he had to be. He never knew if there was a mob waiting to beat him behind the warm welcome of the believers.

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. – 2 Timothy 4:2

So, what does it mean to be prepared in or out of season? It means to read the signs of the times and know how to react. You don’t wear a down parka in the summer heat or a bikini in the middle of winter. If you want to be effective, you’ll “dress for the occasion,” as I like to say, by knowing the times you are living in.

That phrase “in or out of season” also means to be ready to act whether it’s convenient or inconvenient—whether it makes sense or it doesn’t. To move if it’s clean and pretty or if it’s messy and ugly. Be ready if you’re feeling it or if you’re not—if the environment is hostile or friendly. The Kingdom needs to be advanced and it’s on you do move it forward, my friend.

Jesus has a huge value for you being prepared because He hates to see you caught in the collateral damage. Yes, He’ll pick you up, dust you off and apply some salve over your wounds, but He’d rather see you succeed without a cleanup crew. It’s up to you.

Always a Prepared Place

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER

John 11:25 – Jesus said to her, “I’m the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, through he may die, he shall live.”

Do you have dreams and hopes that have been buried in the mess of life? Jesus is not done with them yet. His resurrection power brings dead things back to life. Bring your dead dreams to Him today–your forgotten hopes. He will restore them and give you a vision to walk them out.

Declaration: Jesus is resurrecting me, my dreams, my hopes for the future, my callings, and my destiny today. I partner with Him.

Always a Prepared Place

God puts a great big value on maturity. A big part of being grown up is being prepared.

When you’re not grown up your mama prepares you for everything: dresses you, puts your shoes on, gets you cleaned up, wipes off your dirty face, takes you to school, prepares your lunch, walks you through the door, makes sure you make it all the way through the door, right?

This is about logistics. Being prepared is a choice and it takes work. You have to be intentional and set yourself up for success in your family, your job, your ministry – in all things. You have to say about your marriage, “Okay, here’s the deal. Let’s agree right now that we will not get divorced and we will honor one another.”

In logistics, you have to lay stuff out and get your act together before the trial rolls around. Believe me, you want to wake up and be prepared. You want to know where your shoes are (aka your walk), where your jacket is (aka covering)—you don’t want to be caught with your pants down (aka self-discipline; ability to stick with something and not bail).

Here’s a Kingdom quote I try to live by: “There is always a prepared place for a prepared person.” King Jesus lives by it too.

“I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” – John 14:2-3

Jesus is prepared and He wants the same from you. My friend, if you want God to show up—if you want Jesus to be made manifest in your life—you have to prepare.

Today is a good day to be intentional. Make a plan for each part of your life, including your life with the Holy Spirit, and write it down. Prepare for the coming of the Lord because the time is short! Is your heart prepared?

Are You Dressed?

Today’s Prophetic Number

Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory. – Deuteronomy 11:24

Where are you? Are you still in slavery? Are you walking in circles in the wilderness? Or are you ready to take possession of your Promise Land? God is calling you out of slavery and the wilderness to the land flowing with milk and honey.

Declaration: I will pursue and occupy the Promise Land. I will follow your Kingdom and dreams for my future.

ARE YOU DRESSED?

A big part of being grown up just means you have to be prepared. Maturity is a big deal to God. It’s a big deal in the Kingdom.

When you’re not grown up, your mama prepares you for everything. She dresses you, puts your shoes on, wipes off your dirty face and takes you to school. She even walks you through the school door to make sure you get there, right?

It’s almost like there’s a plan! That’s because God, like your mama, is intentional and He wants you to be too.

There’s all these logistics that are happening in your life whether you know it or not. To be effective in your family, your job and your ministry, you have to lay stuff out and you’ve got to get your act together. When 5:30 a.m. rolls around and you wake up, you have to be prepared!

Because you won’t be able to find your shoes—you will not be able to find your jacket—and that’s your covering. If you want to be covered and inside the hedge of protection throughout your day, you need to be mature. You need to be intentional.

Maturity develops a “rest” that protects against the enemy’s arrows and chaos. It provides confidence to moving forward and upgrade in Kingdom living. So today grow up and watch your upgrade come in.

Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature. –1 Corinthians 14:20 ESV

The Watchman

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER

Luke 11:23 – He, who is not with Me, is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

Which camp are you of? You can’t be part of God’s camp on Sunday and part of the world’s on Tuesday. Wherever you are, your choices, actions, thoughts, and motives shout your allegiance. Be loyal to King Jesus and live!

Declaration: I’m of God’s camp. I’m loyal to the Lord in all I do and say. I will not sit on the fence because the devil owns the fence. I belong to Jesus!

The Watchman

It’s a big responsibility to be a dad – a tremendous responsibility – and responsibility is a really big thing in the Kingdom. And there’s a Kingdom word for responsibility all the way through scripture: watchfulness.

The Word of God says, “Be ye watchful.” My friend, this is a command and also a calling. If you are watchful as a daddy or a mama, you are known in Heaven as a “watchman.” So what happens when you step up and become a watchman for your family and friends? The Lord gives you a trumpet.

“If a watchmen sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet so that the people are not warned, and then the sword comes and takes any of them, well, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood, I will require at the watchman’s hand.” – Ezekiel 33:6

As a watchman on the wall of your home, family, marriage, church and job, you’re responsible to blow that warning trumpet. You are not to be silent. Your voice is powerful as you speak Jesus and hope into bad situations and stand against Satan’s plan in a day where good is called evil.

The truth is, Adam was a gardener and a garden is a “guarded space.” He was no wimp. He was a bad motor scooter whose job was to keep bad things out of the garden and good things in. That is exactly what each of us daddies is supposed to be. A watchman on the wall, guarding all that God made you responsible for.

“But Pastor Troy, Adam fell down on the job. He let that snake into the garden and it ruined everything for every generation throughout all time.”

Yes, he did, but you don’t have to do the same. Be responsible. Be the watchman. Guard your family, friends and finances. Blow that trumpet and watch King Jesus ride to the rescue.

Normal Ain’t Coming Back…

Today’s Prophetic Number

Mark 11:22 – So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God…’

Call upon the name of the Lord and He will move heaven and earth for you. Let your vision be God’s vision. You can be overwhelmed by your circumstances or be overwhelmed by the presence of God. Have faith. He is able and He is willing.

Declaration: I’m putting my faith into action. I have a “YES” in my spirit and I will rise up.

Normal Ain’t Coming Back

I’ve been saying for years that the sky isn’t falling, the Kingdom is coming. Since 2020 and the hell unleashed by the global elites, I’ve been saying, “Normal isn’t coming back. Jesus is.” Here’s what’s real: We each have a great big responsibility to be watchful for that event.

Why? Because the Word of God says so in 66 different places.

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. – Revelation 3:2

Jesus is talking about the rapture of the church. I know many don’t want to talk about the Rapture because they’re too scared. My friend, be as scared as you want. Not me. I’m looking for the return of King Jesus. That’s what I’m doing.

Like so many these days, I’m not looking for the Antichrist. I’m looking for Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith, because He told me to.

“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” – Luke 21:36

I’m not ashamed to say I’m an escapist. If Jesus says it, I believe it. Jesus Christ said you better take serious the responsibility of being watchful – a watchman – on this issue. It’s a matter of life and death for every one of us.

“If a watchmen sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet so that the people are not warned, and then the sword comes and takes any of them, well, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.” – Ezekiel 33:6

Who are you supposed to be watchful for? Who are you supposed to warn, “Get your heart right because the time is short. Jesus told us to be counted worthy to escape. Are you worthy? Are you following Him?” It’s your responsibility – your Kingdom calling – to go behind enemy lines and rescue POWs from Satan’s camp. Jesus is coming soon. Are you a watchman?

When God Ran

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER

Acts 11:21 – And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.

God has called you to the harvest. Are you all in? Partner with King Jesus through the seasons and keep your eyes fixed on Him. He is the Lord of the Harvest.

Declaration: I work with boldness and passion for the harvest of the Lord. I’m anticipating the supernatural move of God daily.

When God Ran

I had a daddy who told me he loved me, and I wanna tell you, men especially need to hear their daddy loves them. Truth be told, most do not. Very few men–women as well–never hear their dad say they love them and are proud of them. It’s so needed if you want to understand the love of your Heavenly Father.

Because my daddy told me he love me, I am in love with my Father in heaven. The Jews understand those two things are connected. That’s why they have a Bar Mitzvah for their sons when they turn 13. They celebrate that boy and the father blesses him, calls him a man, tells him he loves him and is proud of him. He prophesies and prays over that boy.

I’ve preached in a lot of prisons over the years and you know one thing you never find? A Jewish section. You know what you do find? Scores and scores of men who never knew they were loved by their earthly daddy, so they ran away from their Heavenly Father thinking He would reject them too.

I’m not ashamed to say that in many ways, my dad failed as a father. He was just a man. In many ways, I have failed my kids as a father because I’m just a man. But God has been there for me and He’s there for you. He never leaves you or forsakes you.

Know this: Your Heavenly Daddy–your Abba–is not mad at you. He’s not disappointed. He’s just not, so stop beating yourself up and stop running from Him.

There’s only one place in the Bible where God runs. He doesn’t run away from trouble or responsibility. Nope! He runs to His lost son. He sees that dejected, defeated boy on the horizon and even though He knows His son has gotten deep into trouble–so much so that he stinks like a pig–God Almighty runs like a crazy man to hug that boy and welcome him home.

Is that you? Are you needing your Heavenly Father run to you? Do you need to know He loves you even if your earthly daddy didn’t? Turn around. Head home. He’s already halfway down the road.

“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.” – Luke 15:20

Flip the Script

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER

Ezekiel 11:20 – “that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.”

Do you know who He is and who you are in Him? Don’t let anyone or anything else define you. Your past is not who you are. Your failures are not your destiny. Your hurt is not your companion, and fear is not your nature. The Lord Almighty is your God. He is your Alpha and Omega. And you are His chosen royal priesthood.

Declaration: I’m a child of Most High. I’m His beloved and He is mine.

Flip the Script

What a huge revelation it is when you start to see God as your Father and begin to act like Him! Not just as a God you go to when you need a miracle or to supply your needs, but actually as your Father who has compassion on you, loves you and sees you for all that you can be, not what you are.

You know, I’m amazed at the hell people go through in this life, but I can tell you this: If you can begin to see where your Father God was in the midst of your father’s absence, his abuse, his alcoholism or whatever it was–if you can see the Father’s goodness instead of your natural father’s lack of character–your whole life will change.

And you know what? You’ll start treating other kids right, and it’s just very important that kids are seen who are not seen.

When I think about the three little boys living on that dirty mattress in an alley on the Tex-Mex border that we rescued, I get so mad. The men who were paid to take them to “the promised land” were actually cartel monsters who coyoted them right into sexual slavery.

Those three little boys didn’t have anybody in the world to protect them, and all they needed was a dad. All they needed was somebody to know the goodness of the Father and say, “Because the Lord has seen me, I’m going to see them and I’m going to help them.”

I was that guy. God Almighty has taken care of me, so I’m gonna take care of them. Yes, I’ve been hurt. Yes, I’ve been through some hell of my own, but I have seen the Father is good so I can be good to those who need a daddy.

Can you do the same? Can you begin to give the love and security of Father God away instead of the iniquities of your fathers, or your mothers, before you? Flip the script! Be the father your own daddy couldn’t be because your Heavenly Father is. It’s just that simple.

Father to the fatherless, defender of widows— this is God, whose dwelling is holy. – Psalms

CURRENCIES FROM HEAVEN

Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

The lady with the dream of a check for $88

In the :Back to the Future” film trilogy, 88 is the speed (in miles per hour) the DeLorean automobile must attain to travel in time.

Maybe it’s a love note from heaven because 88 in amateur radio and in Morse Code means “love and kisses.”

There are 88 keys open a paino.

The son of Solomon, King Rehoboam, had 88 kids according to 2 Chronicles 11:21.

Psalms 88:  Living a Life of Faith in Terrible and Difficult Times.

There are 88 recognized constellations in the heavens .

Heavenly Currencies

Revelation 3:14-22 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

Revelation 3:18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Revelation 2:18 (PTV)My advice to you is to the pay the price for what is valuable to Me: Pure currency that will make you truly rich…

FAVOR

Proverbs 8:34-35 (KVJ)Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.  35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD.

OBTAIN: to gain by planned action or effort

What is favor ?

The best definition of the word favor is

“Demonstrated Delight by Divine Advantage”

The favor of God can be described as tangible evidence that a person has the approval of the Lord.”

God’s favor is the power that changes things for us.

You earn it. You qualify for it. You pay the price for it.

Luke 2:52“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

Favor is for grown-up people willing to grow up and do big boy things in selfless service of the King/

When God’s priorities become your selfless priorities, what God does with you, and through you, becomes priority.

FAVOR IS HEAVEN’S AUTHORITY ON EARTH.

FAVOR IS GOODWILL

Favor is God’s kindness and benevolence given to those who love Him.

Favor will release great blessings including prosperity, health, opportunity and advancement.

The Bible records numerous examples of God’s favor upon His people causing them to experience many breakthroughs.

Favor is God’s lovingkindness.

FAVOR IS WHEN GOD’S GOODNESS CAUSES YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Psalms 90:17 (ASV)And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And establish thou the work of our hands upon us; Yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

“Make my enterprise successful

Let the sum of His gracious acts, in their harmony, be illustrated in us, and favor our enterprise.

The word favor is found 70 times

The Bible is filled with promises of favor for the believer:

Psalms 5:12“For Thou, oh Lord, will bless the righteous: with favor you will compass him as a shield.”

Your shield is faith.  His shield for you is Favor.

Proverbs 8:34“Whosoever findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord.”

finding life in Christ brings favor

Proverbs 13:15“Good understanding giveth favor, but the way of the transgressor is hard.”

Wisdom and favor go hand in hand

Solomon chose wisdom and with it came great, great favor and riches.

Proverbs 22:1“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver or gold.”

Proverbs 14:9“Fools make a mock of sin, but among the righteous there is favor.”

With new heights in faith and belief comes favor.

Encouragement to believe.

You are responsible for your wake. The bigger and the faster the boat, the bigger the wake. If you continue to say that the sin you carry on with is no big deal, you will lose your Favor a your wake will be disastrous;

EXPECTANCY

Psalm 85:8 (AMP)I will listen [with expectancy] to what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints (those who are in right standing with Him)–but let them not turn again to [self-confident] folly.

HOPE in God’s Character

Matthew 7:11How much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Prophetic posture

Developing expectancy is a daily choice and an attitude to cultivate. Having a mindset of expectancy means that we have developed a particular way of thinking: “I’m a child of God; of course he’s going to speak to me, and he’s going to use me to be a channel of blessing for others. I can seek his heart for everyone I meet today.”

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Lose your lens of loss today and increase your expectancy and favor today.

Lose the lens of self-pity.

Sowing Into Fatherhood

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBER

Matthew 11:19 – The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.

Jesus had a successful and effective ministry here on earth. But not everyone believed. Not all loved him and surely not everyone approved. King Jesus showed us how to finish well. Don’t worry about the details of how. Stand. Persevere to the end. Keep showing up in the lives of others. It will produce fruit.

Declaration: I will not give up or take off my eyes of Jesus too early. I will finish well the assignments God has entrusted me with.

Sowing Into Fatherhood

When I tell you I’ve been a part of rescuing over 10,00 girls and boys from sex trafficking worldwide since 2016, that’s not me being a good man or even a good dad. That’s me sowing into fatherhood. I know for a fact that because I sow into the harvest field, people around me sow into my kids.

My kids all love Jesus. They’ve married well and are good parents, but not because I’m the greatest daddy. That’s God Almighty blessing me for sowing into orphans and other people’s kids. Did you know you can actually sow into fatherhood?

“But Pastor Troy, how in the world can I sow into fatherhood when I didn’t have a good daddy?”

Glad you asked. You sow into fatherhood within your generations when you see the Lord as your Father and begin to take on his characteristics. You sow into fatherhood when begin to look through that lens that says, “Every kid needs a kind word, a pat on the back or rescued from something.”

My friend was a teacher and coach. His own parents were divorced. He rarely got to see his daddy and his step-father was a trip! When my friend met his Heavenly Father at the age of 32, he knew he was loved and accepted. He was so secure in God’s love that he gave away the farm to his his own kids, his students and players.

Every kid had cleats and clothes. There was always room for one more in his truck, at the dinner table or on the family couch. He spoke life into those kids who didn’t have a good earthly father and that man showed them the love of the Heavenly Father until the day he died. You know what? God Almighty honored that man by making sure his own kids knew His love.

That’s sowing into fatherhood–motherhood too. You loving other kids like Father God and letting them know they have value. You’ll find your own kids not only understand you love them, but other Godly people will pour the love of the Father into them until they begin to demonstrate the Father, just like you did.

The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. – Psalms 103:13
